    Description

    Netherlands NL: International Migrant Stock: % of Population data was reported at 11.696 % in 2015. This records an increase from the previous number of 11.018 % for 2010. Netherlands NL: International Migrant Stock: % of Population data is updated yearly, averaging 10.211 % from Dec 1990 (Median) to 2015, with 6 observations. The data reached an all-time high of 11.696 % in 2015 and a record low of 7.927 % in 1990. Netherlands NL: International Migrant Stock: % of Population data remains active status in CEIC and is reported by World Bank. The data is categorized under Global Database’s Netherlands – Table NL.World Bank.WDI: Population and Urbanization Statistics. International migrant stock is the number of people born in a country other than that in which they live. It also includes refugees. The data used to estimate the international migrant stock at a particular time are obtained mainly from population censuses. The estimates are derived from the data on foreign-born population--people who have residence in one country but were born in another country. When data on the foreign-born population are not available, data on foreign population--that is, people who are citizens of a country other than the country in which they reside--are used as estimates. After the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991 people living in one of the newly independent countries who were born in another were classified as international migrants. Estimates of migrant stock in the newly independent states from 1990 on are based on the 1989 census of the Soviet Union. For countries with information on the international migrant stock for at least two points in time, interpolation or extrapolation was used to estimate the international migrant stock on July 1 of the reference years. For countries with only one observation, estimates for the reference years were derived using rates of change in the migrant stock in the years preceding or following the single observation available. A model was used to estimate migrants for countries that had no data.; ; United Nations Population Division, Trends in Total Migrant Stock: 2008 Revision.; Weighted average;

    Description

    This table contains information about population developments due to birth, mortality and foreign migration on the islands of Bonaire, Saba and St Eustatius. Since 10 October 2010, the islands of Bonaire, Saba and St Eustatius have the status of 'special municipalities' of the Netherlands. Population figures for the period 2007-2009 are provided by the Central Bureau of Statistics Netherlands Antilles and Island Registries (CBS-NA). From 2010 onwards, population figures are provided by Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Data available as from 2007 up to and including 2015. Status of the figures: All figures presented in the table are final. In the years 2007 and 2008, the number of deceased persons on Saba and St Eustatius was estimated. As a result, population figures for Saba and St Eustatius over 2008 do not correspond to the figures on 31 December 2008 and 1 January 2009. Changes as from 26 March 2018: This table has been discontinued. When will new figures be published? Not applicable anymore. This table will be replaced by Caribbean Netherlands; population, births, deaths, migration, see chapter 3.

    North Sea
    Description

    The dataset covers the North Sea region (Great Britain, Netherlands, Belgium and part of France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany) and is made up of GIS vector-files consisting of three parts: 1. Population numbers of (approximately) 100 cities with the highest population, for reference years 1300, 1500, 1700, 1850, 1900, 1950, 1990 and 2015; 2. Primary infrastructures on water, land and rail for reference years 1500, 1900 and 2015; 3. Soil types for reference years 1500, 1900 and 2015. The data sets have been compiled on the basis of existing European datasets and literature, supplemented with further literature and data research. Together the datasets provide a more detailed insight into the urbanization process around the North Sea from 1300 to 2015. The datasets on soil and infrastructure should be considered as a first attempt (version 1) to map these data for the North Sea region for three different reference years.

    Description

    Netherlands NL: Survey Mean Consumption or Income per Capita: Total Population: Annualized Average Growth Rate data was reported at 0.660 % in 2015. Netherlands NL: Survey Mean Consumption or Income per Capita: Total Population: Annualized Average Growth Rate data is updated yearly, averaging 0.660 % from Dec 2015 (Median) to 2015, with 1 observations. Netherlands NL: Survey Mean Consumption or Income per Capita: Total Population: Annualized Average Growth Rate data remains active status in CEIC and is reported by World Bank. The data is categorized under Global Database’s Netherlands – Table NL.World Bank.WDI: Poverty. The growth rate in the welfare aggregate of the total population is computed as the annualized average growth rate in per capita real consumption or income of the total population in the income distribution in a country from household surveys over a roughly 5-year period. Mean per capita real consumption or income is measured at 2011 Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) using the PovcalNet (http://iresearch.worldbank.org/PovcalNet). For some countries means are not reported due to grouped and/or confidential data. The annualized growth rate is computed as (Mean in final year/Mean in initial year)^(1/(Final year - Initial year)) - 1. The reference year is the year in which the underlying household survey data was collected. In cases for which the data collection period bridged two calendar years, the first year in which data were collected is reported. The initial year refers to the nearest survey collected 5 years before the most recent survey available, only surveys collected between 3 and 7 years before the most recent survey are considered. The final year refers to the most recent survey available between 2011 and 2015. Growth rates for Iraq are based on survey means of 2005 PPP$. The coverage and quality of the 2011 PPP price data for Iraq and most other North African and Middle Eastern countries were hindered by the exceptional period of instability they faced at the time of the 2011 exercise of the International Comparison Program. See PovcalNet for detailed explanations.; ; World Bank, Global Database of Shared Prosperity (GDSP) circa 2010-2015 (http://www.worldbank.org/en/topic/poverty/brief/global-database-of-shared-prosperity).; ; The comparability of welfare aggregates (consumption or income) for the chosen years T0 and T1 is assessed for every country. If comparability across the two surveys is a major concern for a country, the selection criteria are re-applied to select the next best survey year(s). Annualized growth rates are calculated between the survey years, using a compound growth formula. The survey years defining the period for which growth rates are calculated and the type of welfare aggregate used to calculate the growth rates are noted in the footnotes.
