The North Carolina State and County Boundary vector polygon data provides location information for North Carolina State and County Boundary lines derived from the best available survey and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) data. Sources for information are the North Carolina Geodetic Survey (NCGS), NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT), United States Geological Survey (USGS), and field surveys conducted by licensed surveyors in North Carolina and neighboring states that have been approved and recorded in their respective counties. North Carolina Geodetic Survey assists counties on a cooperative basis (NC General Statute 153A-18) in defining and monumenting the location of uncertain or disputed boundaries as established by law. Some counties have completed boundary surveys for at least a portion of their county boundary. However, the majority of county boundaries have not been surveyed and are represented by the best currently available data from GIS sources, including NCDOT county maps (which originally came from the USGS) and updated county parcel maps.

The North Carolina State Demographer data platform houses the latest data produced by the Office of the State Demographer. The platform allows users to create visualizations, download full (or partial) datasets, and create maps. Registered users can save their visualizations and be notified of dataset updates. This new platform is a subdomain of OSBM’s Log In to North Carolina (LINC) – a service containing over 900 data items including items pertaining to population, labor force, education, transportation, etc. LINC includes topline statistics from the State Demographer’s population estimates and projections while the North Carolina State Demographer data platform includes more detailed datasets for users requiring more detailed demographic information.

This data set is a comprehensive collection of raster, vector and imagery data covering parts of North Carolina (NC), USA (map), prepared from public data sources provided by the North Carolina state and local government agencies and Global Land Cover Facility (GLCF).

"Log Into North Carolina" or LINC is an interactive data retrieval service containing historical information for over 900 data items and a variety of geographic areas within the state. Topics include population, labor force, education, transportation, revenue, agriculture, vital statistics, energy and utilities, and other topics for a variety of geographic areas. Most data are available for all 100 counties. Some items are available for municipalities. Others, especially census data, may be retrieved for tracts and townships.LINC is evolving with new data and enhanced features to include data visualization, bulk data downloads, and mapping. The new version of LINC allows the public to view data but also allows registered users to save visualizations and receive notifications of dataset updates.
AddressNC has been prioritized by the North Carolina Geographic Information Coordinating Council (GICC) as a critical framework dataset. The AddressNC Program runs parallel to and is derived from the North Carolina 911 Board Next Generation 911 (NG911) Program. Address data has been identified as mission critical for validation and accurate call routing within NG911 and AddressNC completes a full-circle approach of address maintenance and sustainability through applied enhancements and quality control beyond 911 requirements. A primary goal of AddressNC is to continually develop and maintain quality address points on a continuous cycle through updates published in NG911. Various agencies in federal, state, and local government can benefit by applying practical applications of quality addressing in their own programs, negating the need to rely on outdated statewide addressing data and/or using paid address data sets from third party sources.

This data comes with the added TID attribute, listing the public safety terminal ID’s (TID) on the Division of Criminal Information (DCI) network that reside and are responsible for those areas.This service was created to assist governmental agencies and others in making resource management decisions through use of a Geographic Information System (GIS). Municipal boundaries are recognized as a base cartographic layer for location analysis. This data is current for the fiscal year 2021 - 2022. Municipal boundaries updated this year were based on towns that reported annexation changes to the NC Office of Secretary of State. This may not be representative of all towns with boundary changes this year.The Municipal Boundaries service is based on the Powell Bill Program maps for the 2021-2022 fiscal year. Municipalities in North Carolina participating in the Powell Bill Program are required to submit to NCDOT on a regular basis. These datasets include incorporated municipalities in North Carolina that participate in the Powell Bill Program. DEM-related web services from NC OneMap (Aspect, Hillshade, Shaded Elevation, Shaded Relief, Slope, and raster contours for 1 foot, 2 feet, 4 feet, 20 feet, and 100 feet). The downloaded functions can be used in ArcGIS products.
These could be helpful if there is a need to use an NC OneMap DEM-derivative elevation product in a disconnected environment, an instance where web service use is not practical. The county-based DEMs can be downloaded and the raster functions applied in ArcGIS Pro, for use in an offline environment.
In the downloaded raster functions ZIP file are XML files for:

The Digital Geomorphic-GIS Map of the Pea Island (1:24,000 scale 2007 mapping), North Carolina is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (peai_geomorphology.gdb), and a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (peai_geomorphology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (peai_geomorphology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats. In addition to the GIS data and supporting GIS files, three additional files comprise a GRI digital geologic-GIS dataset or map: 1.) A GIS readme file (caha_fora_wrbr_geomorphology.pdf), 2.) the GRI ancillary map information document (.pdf) file (caha_fora_wrbr_geomorphology.pdf) which contains geologic unit descriptions, as well as other ancillary map information and graphics from the source map(s) used by the GRI in the production of the GRI digital geologic-GIS data for the park, and 3.) a user-friendly FAQ PDF version of the metadata (peai_geomorphology_metadata_faq.pdf). This service provides vector polygon dataset defining the official boundaries of the 100 counties within North Carolina as well as the boundaries between North Carolina and the states which border North Carolina.The North Carolina county polygon boundary service provides location information for North Carolina State and County Boundary lines derived from the best available survey and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) data. Sources for information are the North Carolina Geodetic Survey (NCGS), NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT), United States Geological Survey (USGS), and field surveys conducted by licensed surveyors in North Carolina and neighboring states that have been approved and recorded in their respective counties. Some boundaries cannot be surveyed in cases where boundaries are coincident with river centers. North Carolina Geodetic Survey assists counties on a cooperative basis (NC General Statute 153A-18) in defining and monumenting the location of uncertain or disputed boundaries as established by law. Some counties have completed boundary surveys for at least a portion of their county boundary. The North Carolina Geological Survey (NCGS) within the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), in cooperation with the North Carolina Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (CGIA), developed the GIS feature service version of the Geologic Map of North Carolina 1985. The data represents the digital equivalent of the official State Geology map (1:500,000- scale), but was digitized from (1:250,000-scale) base maps. This feature service consists of four layers: Unit Examples, Structure, Dikes, and Map Units. These layers are also accompanied by two tables: Age References and Structure References.This geology is deprecated. There is currently no replacement for it that covers the whole state. We are working on a replacement that will be made available to the public in the near future (2025). This new data set will be in the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Geologic Map Schema (GeMS). When first released this data set will only cover a portion of the State at a scale of 1:100,000. This dataset will be dynamic and expand to cover the whole state by as early as 2030.
