These polygon boundaries, inundation extents, and depth rasters were created to provide an extent of flood inundation along the Tar River within the community of Princeville, North Carolina. The upstream and downstream reach extent is determined by the location of high-water marks, not extending the boundary far past the outermost high-water marks. In areas of uncertainty of flood extent, the model boundary is lined up with the flood inundation polygon extent. This boundary polygon was used to extract the final flood inundation polygon and depth layer from the flood water surface raster file. The passage of Hurricane Matthew through central and eastern North Carolina during October 7-9, 2016, brought heavy rainfall which resulted in major flooding. More than 15 inches of rain were recorded in some areas. Over 600 roads were closed including Interstates 95 and 40, and nearly 99,000 structures were impacted by floodwaters. Immediately after the flooding, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) documented 267 high-water marks (HWM), of which 254 were surveyed. The North Carolina Emergency Management documented and surveyed 353 HWMs. The North Carolina Geodetic Survey documented and surveyed 12 HWMs within the town of Princeville. Seven communities were mapped using Geographic Information Systems. This is the model inundated area layer for the community of Princeville.

The 2020 TIGER/Line Shapefiles contain current geographic extent and boundaries of both legal and statistical entities (which have no governmental standing) for the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Island areas. This vintage includes boundaries of governmental units that match the data from the surveys that use 2020 geography (e.g., 2020 Population Estimates and the 2020 American Community Survey). In addition to geographic boundaries, the 2020 TIGER/Line Shapefiles also include geographic feature shapefiles and relationship files. Feature shapefiles represent the point, line and polygon features in the MTDB (e.g., roads and rivers). Relationship files contain additional attribute information users can join to the shapefiles. Both the feature shapefiles and relationship files reflect updates made in the database through September 2020. The 2045 Land Use Map is based on the recommendations of Advance Apex: The 2045 Land Use Plan Map Update. Amendments approved after initial Plan adoption are incorporated. Activity center nodes are also identified. Mixed Use polygons designate areas where ≥30% of the land use is required to be nonresidential development. Apartment Only polygons designate areas with High Density Residential striping where only apartments are allowed as a future residential land use.

North Carolina Effective Flood zones: In 2000, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) designated North Carolina a Cooperating Technical Partner State, formalizing an agreement between FEMA and the State to modernize flood maps. This partnership resulted in creation of the North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program (NCFMP). As a CTS, the State assumed primary ownership and responsibility of the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for all North Carolina communities as part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). This project includes conducting flood hazard analyses and producing updated, Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs). Floodplain management is a process that aims to achieve reduced losses due to flooding. It takes on many forms, but is realized through a series of federal, state, and local programs and regulations, in concert with industry practice, to identify flood risk, implement methods to protect man-made development from flooding, and protect the natural and beneficial functions of floodplains. The Town of Apex was incorporated in 1873. N.C.G.S. 160A-22 requires current city boundaries to be drawn at all times on a map. This statute also requires that all alterations to the boundaries (annexations) be indicated on the map. This shapefiles depicts all individual additions to the boundaries of the Town of Apex corporate limits. Additions to the boundary occur a maximum of twice a month as the Town Council approves annexation requests from property owners. Boundary locations are based on legal descriptions referenced in the approved annexation ordinances recorded with the Town, Wake County, and North Carolina Secretary of State. Older annexations may not match with more recent annexations due to datum changes and variations in survey accuracy.
North Carolina General Statutes gives municipalities the right to zone land within their corporate limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction. The Town of Apex's Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) is the Town's zoning ordinance as allowed and directed by the NC General Statutes. Zoning classifications, and their regulations, listed within this dataset can be found in Article 3 of the UDO. Each zoning district has its own purpose and has permitted and/or special uses that control the use of land within each district. Use restrictions vary by case, and the hyperlinked documentation provided in the attribute table details the conditions approved by Town Council for its associated rezoning case. Rezoning approval is no guarantee that development will occur on the properties involved.

This collection provides 100-percent data from the Census 2000 Dress Rehearsal conducted in 1998 in the following locations: (1) Columbia, South Carolina, and surrounding areas, including the town of Irmo and the counties of Chester, Chesterfield, Darlington, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lancaster, Lee, Marlboro, Newberry, Richland, and Union, (2) Sacramento, California, and (3) Menominee County, Wisconsin, including the Menominee American Indian Reservation. The collection includes data on population, race, Hispanic/Latino origin, age, sex, marital status, family type and presence of own children, household relationship, household type and size, and group quarters. There are 104 population (P) and 42 housing (H) tables that provide data down to the block level. There are 29 additional population tables that provide data down to the census tract level. Also provided are accompanying map files, including Census Block and Census Tract Maps, in two formats, Portable Document Format (PDF) for viewing and Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language (HP-GL) for plotting large-scale maps. The Corner Point files contain the bounding latitude and longitude coordinates for each individual map sheet of the 1998 Dress Rehearsal 100-Percent Summary Files map products.
