    Public Rights of Way are routes over which the public have a legal right to pass and re-pass at any time of the day and night and are protected by highway law and legislation.Councils have a duty to record those rights on statutory maps and statements, known as the Definitive Map and Statement. This dataset is a digital representation of the information in the Definitive Map and Statement. All known public footpaths, bridleways and byways should, by law, be recorded. You should always refer to Nottingham City Council's Definitive Map and Statement for exact information on the alignment and status of any Public Right of Way; it can be viewed online at https://geoserver.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/streetregister/. As well as detailing where the paths are, the attribute data contained within this dataset also includes information on characteristics such as: Path type; Path name and/or description; Public Right of Way details; Length of path or path section; Any associated website details etc.
