Purpose - (June 2017) This feature service has been created for the 2017 fire season. The service is based on the National Wildfire Coordination Group's data standard for Wildland Fire Events. These data standards and this feature service are designed to improve exchange of data on wildland fire incidents.These are layer schemas that you must host on your own (or work with a partnering agency to host) and are edtiable. They allow you or others to update the status and other attribute information and are editable. The Wildland Fire Interagency Geospatial Services (WFIGS) Group provides authoritative geospatial data products under the interagency Wildland Fire Data Program. Hosted in the National Interagency Fire Center ArcGIS Online Organization (The NIFC Org), WFIGS provides both internal and public facing data, accessible in a variety of formats.This service contains all wildland fire incidents from the IRWIN (Integrated Reporting of Wildland Fire Information) integration service that meet the following criteria:Categorized in IRWIN as a Wildfire (WF), Prescribed Fire (RX), or Incident Complex (CX) recordHas not been declared contained, controlled, nor outHas not had fire report record completed (certified)Is Valid and not "quarantined" in IRWIN due to potential conflicts with other records"Fall-off" rules are used to ensure that stale records are not retained. Records are removed from this service under the following conditions:Fire size is less than 10 acres (Size Class A or B), and fire information has not been updated in more than 3 daysFire size is between 10 and 100 acres (Size Class C), and fire information hasn't been updated in more than 8 daysFire size is larger than 100 acres (Size Class D-L), but fire information hasn't been updated in more than 14 days.Fire size used in the fall off rules is from the IncidentSize field.Criteria were determined by an NWCG Geospatial Subcommittee task group. Data are refreshed from IRWIN every 5 minutes.Fall-off rules are enforced hourly.

This dataset represents a time-enabled view of the NIFC-NWCG 7 Day Significant Fire Potential Index filtered down to California. It also includes a summary table for each regions index values for the next 7 days.This dataset is updated daily on a 15-minute interval from 5AM to 9AM PST.The primary responsibility of Predictive Services is to provide sound guidance to regional and national resource managers concerning current and projected “Significant Fire Potential”. The goal of this guidance is to help these managers make effective and efficient use of available resources. “Significant Fire Potential” is defined as “the likelihood that a wildland fire event will require mobilization of additional resources from outside the area in which the fire situation originates”.It is crucial to understand that although weather is a major contributor to Significant Fire Potential, this product is not a weather forecast. It is a forecast of Significant Fire Potential only, which is a function of fuel conditions, weather, and resource availability. Interagency Wildland Fire Perimeter History (IFPH)OverviewThis national fire history perimeter data layer of conglomerated agency perimeters was developed in support of the WFDSS application and wildfire decision support. The layer encompasses the fire perimeter datasets of the USDA Forest Service, US Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Fish and Wildlife Service, and National Park Service, the Alaska Interagency Fire Center, CalFire, and WFIGS History. Purpose - (June 2017) This feature service has been created for the 2017 fire season. The service is based on the National Wildfire Coordination Group's data standard for Wildland Fire Events. These data standards and this feature service are designed to improve exchange of data on wildland fire incidents.These are layer schemas that you must host on your own (or work with a partnering agency to host) and are edtiable. They allow you or others to update the status and other attribute information and are editable.
