    • Over 8 million 311 service requests from 2012-2016

    • More than 1 million motor vehicle collisions 2012-present

    • Citi Bike stations and 30 million Citi Bike trips 2013-present

    • Over 1 billion Yellow and Green Taxi rides from 2009-present

    • Over 500,000 sidewalk trees surveyed decennially in 1995, 2005, and 2015

Population Numbers By New York City Neighborhood Tabulation Areas The data was collected from Census Bureaus' Decennial data dissemination (SF1). Neighborhood Tabulation Areas (NTAs), are aggregations of census tracts that are subsets of New York City's 55 Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs). Primarily due to these constraints, NTA boundaries and their associated names may not definitively represent neighborhoods. This report shows change in population from 2000 to 2010 for each NTA. Compiled by the Population Division – New York City Department of City Planning.

This dataset compiles a comprehensive database containing 90,327 street segments in New York City, covering their street design features, streetscape design, Vision Zero treatments, and neighborhood land use. It has two scales-street and street segment group (aggregation of same type of street at neighborhood). This dataset is derived based on all publicly available data, most from NYC Open Data. The detailed methods can be found in the published paper, Pedestrian and Car Occupant Crash Casualties Over a 9-Year Span of Vision Zero in New York City. Publication Date: APR 2018. A polygon layer of all city boundaries in New York State. The city features and attributes in this layer are the same as those in the Cities_Towns layer in this service. The data was originally a compilation of U.S. Geological Survey 1:100,000-scale digital vector files and NYS Department of Transportation 1:24,000-scale and 1:75,000-scale digital vector files. Boundaries were revised to 1:24,000-scale positional accuracy and selectively updated based on municipal boundary reviews, court decisions and NYS Department of State Local Law filings for annexations, dissolutions, and incorporations. Currently, boundary changes are made based on NYS Department of State Local Law filings (http://locallaws.dos.ny.gov/). Additional updates and corrections are made as needed in partnership with municipalities. Additional metadata, including field descriptions, can be found at the NYS GIS Clearinghouse: http://gis.ny.gov/gisdata/inventories/details.cfm?DSID=927.

    Description

The Digital City Map (DCM) data represents street lines and other features shown on the City Map, which is the official street map of the City of New York. The City Map consists of 5 different sets of maps, one for each borough, totaling over 8000 individual paper maps. The DCM datasets were created in an ongoing effort to digitize official street records and bring them together with other street information to make them easily accessible to the public. The Digital City Map (DCM) is comprised of seven datasets; Digital City Map, Street Center Line, City Map Alterations, Arterial Highways and Major Streets, Street Name Changes (areas), Street Name Changes (lines), and Street Name Changes (points).

All of the Digital City Map (DCM) datasets are featured on the Streets App

All previously released versions of this data are available at BYTES of the BIG APPLE- Archive

Updates for this dataset, along with other multilayered maps on NYC Open Data, are temporarily paused while they are moved to a new mapping format. Please visit https://www.nyc.gov/site/planning/data-maps/open-data/dwn-digital-city-map.page to utilize this data in the meantime.

    Description

This dataset represents a compilation of data from various government agencies throughout the City of New York. The underlying geography is derived from the Tax Lot Polygon feature class that is part of the Department of Finance's Digital Tax Map (DTM). The tax lots have been clipped to the shoreline, as defined by NYCMap planimetric features. The attribute information is from the Department of City Planning's PLUTO data. The attribute data pertains to tax lot and building characteristics and geographic, political and administrative information for each tax lot in New York City. The Tax Lot Polygon feature class and PLUTO are derived from different sources. As a result, some PLUTO records do not have a corresponding tax lot in the Tax Lot polygon feature class at the time of release. These records are included in a separate non-geographic PLUTO Only table. There are a number of reasons why there can be a tax lot in PLUTO that does not match the DTM; the most common reason is that the various source files are maintained by different departments and divisions with varying update cycles and criteria for adding and removing records. The attribute definitions for the PLUTO Only table are the same as those for MapPLUTO. DCP Mapping Lots includes some features that are not on the tax maps. They have been added by DCP for cartographic purposes. They include street center 'malls', traffic islands and some built streets through parks. These features have very few associated attributes. To report problems, please open a GitHub issue or email DCPOpendata@planning.nyc.gov.DATES OF INPUT DATASETS:Department of City Planning - E-Designations: 2/5/2021Department of City Planning - Zoning Map Index: 7/31/2019Department of City Planning - NYC City Owned and Leased Properties: 11/15/2020Department of City Planning - NYC GIS Zoning Features: 2/5/2021Department of City Planning - Polictical and Administrative Districts: 11/17/2020Department of City Planning - Geosupport version 20D: 11/17/2020Department of Finance - Digital Tax Map: 1/30/2021Department of Finance - Mass Appraisal System (CAMA): 2/10/2021Department of Finance - Property Tax System (PTS): 2/6/2021Landmarks Preservation Commission - Historic Districts: 2/4/2021Landmarks Preservation Commission - Individual Landmarks: 2/4/2021Department of Information Telecommunications & Technology - Building Footprints: 2/10/2021Department of Parks and Recreation - GreenThumb Garden Info: 1/4/2021

    Description

The Council has numerous standing committees that practice oversight of New York City functions, including human services, infrastructure, and government affairs. Each committee is headed by a Council Member (the Chair), includes at least five members, and meets at least once a month. In addition, the Council has several subcommittees, which are convened to review and make recommendations regarding topics of particular interest.

After proposed legislation is heard by its appropriate Committee, it may be voted on and approved at that Committee. If the legislation is passed by Committee, is then sent to be considered by the whole Council. Council Members are assigned to committees through a process that the entire Council votes on.

The NYC City Council Committee Membership dataset is drawn from the City Council's legislative API and updated weekly. Committee membership by City Council Members changes infrequently. This dataset includes committee membership starting Jan 1, 2018.

    Description

The Department of City Planning aggregates information about 30,000+ facilities and program sites that are owned, operated, funded, licensed, or certified by a City, State, or Federal agency in the City of New York into a central database called the City Planning Facilities Database (FacDB). These facilities generally help to shape quality of life in the city’s neighborhoods, and this dataset is the basis for a series of planning activities. This public data resource allows all New Yorkers to understand the breadth of government resources in their neighborhoods. The data is also complemented with a new interactive web map that enables users to easily filter the data for their needs. Users are strongly encouraged to read the database documentation, particularly with regard to analytical limitations.
