This dataset contains the locations and detailed information of green infrastructure practices in NYC neighborhoods built primarily through NYC Green Infrastructure Program initiatives. Green infrastructure (GI) collects stormwater from streets, sidewalks, and other hard surfaces before it can enter the sewer system or cause local flooding. The GI practice data contained in this dataset includes the location, program area, status, and type of GI. This dataset is updated by the NYC Department of Environmental Protection on a monthly basis. The “Regulated_Projects” polygon layer contains Unified Stormwater Rule green infrastructure projects. This layer is part of a larger Green Infrastructure dataset. You can download the full dataset and the data dictionary below under “Attachments”. Source Data: DEP Green Infrastructure Program Map
The City’s Long-Term Sustainability Plan, PlaNYC, calls for City government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions produced by municipal operations 30% by 2017. A large part of this effort is retrofitting municipal buildings to become more energy efficient. This dataset lists energy efficiency projects at City buildings that are complete or in progress. Projects are listed by address, building name, and agency, and the dataset includes the estimated reduction in tons of GHG emissions associated with the project.
The table Energy Efficiency Projects is part of the dataset NYC Energy Efficiency Projects, available at https://redivis.com/datasets/7zs9-1fk7bee29. It contains 584 rows across 19 variables.

The dataset reflects funded applications for capital funding allocated by the New York City Council. Each year, Members of the Council allocate funds to not-for-profit organizations for capital projects that will continue to serve a City purpose (i.e. "limited to the purposes set forth in the New York City Charter" according to Directive 10 from the Office of the Comptroller) for the project's entire useful life. These projects can involve property (acquisition, construction or reconstruction), or moveable property (equipment, furniture, or vehicles). Recipients of capital funding must: • hold not for profit status; • must already hold contracts with the city, with different contract requirements depending on funding type; • use the grant for stated capital investments at the location of the application. Organizations must submit their Request Forms online via CapGrants. For information on the process see: https://www.nyc.gov/site/capitalgrants/guidelines/guidelines.page For Directive 10 from the Office of the Comptroller see: https://www.nyc.gov/assets/ddc/downloads/not-for-profit/Directive-10-Charges-to-the-Capital-Projects-Fund-Final%20-%20June%202019.pdf Recipients of capital funding must: • hold not for profit status; • must already hold contracts with the city, with different contract requirements depending on funding type; • use the grant for stated capital investments at the location of the application. Spatial data at the polygon level can be joined to the tabular Capital Projects dataset using the FSM ID. A majority of the spatial data was made available on NYC Open Data by agency partners. Some geometries were created manually, while others relied on 'Fuzzy String Matching'. This process relied on a join to DCP's Facilities Database and DPR's Parks Properties to match project descriptions to physical locations. NOTE: Not all Capital Projects have a spatial component, therefore cpdb_projects_polygons is not a comprehensive list of all Capital Projects.

The Department of City Planning (DCP) processes land use applications submitted by City or other public agencies and other (private) applicants. This data set provides information on land use applications, specifically the project tracking and description data related to approximately 30,000 projects since the late 1970s. ZAP project data appears on NYC Planning - Zoning Application Portal Search. It includes data migrated from the prior applications tracking system (LUCATS) and covers all projects that have been "Noticed" (that they will appear before the City Planning Commission in 30 or more days for Certification as complete for the ULURP process to begin) or Filed (a CEQR or Land Use application has been formally submitted to the Department for review) through completion (approval, disapproval, withdrawal, or termination). For more information on the land use and environmental review application process see: Application Process Overview You can explore this data in the Zoning Application Portal To report data errors or for questions, email zap_feedback_dl@planning.nyc.gov.
The NYC Department of City Planning's (DCP) Housing Database contains all NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) approved housing construction and demolition jobs filed or completed in NYC since January 1, 2010. It includes the three primary construction job types that add or remove residential units: new buildings, major alterations, and demolitions, and can be used to determine the change in legal housing units across time and space. Records in the Housing Database Project-Level Files are geocoded to the greatest level of precision possible, subject to numerous quality assurance and control checks, recoded for usability, and joined to other housing data sources relevant to city planners and analysts. Data are updated semiannually, at the end of the second and fourth quarters of each year. Please see DCP's annual Housing Production Snapshot summarizing findings from the 21Q4 data release here. Additional Housing and Economic analyses are also available. All previously released versions of this data are available at BYTES of the BIG APPLE - Archive.

The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) reports on buildings, units, and projects that began after January 1, 2014 and are counted towards the Housing New York plan. The Housing New York Units by Building file presents this data by building, and includes building-level data, such as house number, street name, BBL, and BIN for each building in a project. The unit counts are provided by building. For additional documentation, including a data dictionary, review the attachments in the “About this Dataset” section of the Primer landing page.
