The Schools K-12 feature class is a combination of 9 feature classes that have school aged children attending. The feature classes included in the Schools K-12 feature class include: Public K-12, Private K-12, Charter K-12, State Operated Schools, BOCES, Other Schools for Students with Disabilities, Kindergartens All Buildings, Non IMF Public and Private Institutions, and Schools for At Risk Youth. The Other feature classes include Proprietary, Approved Preschool Programs for SWD, Colleges, District Offices, Feeding Sites, and Libraries. This layer shows School District Boundaries in Westchester County. The school district boundaries are coded by line and identified by polygon label. School district lines were modified in 2017 to conform with municipal outbound boundaries. Inland boundaries are generalized and derived from various sources including local tax maps and master plans, school district maps and the NYS Office of Real Property Services (NYS ORPS). District boundaries were verified by each of the school districts.

The School Immunization Survey collects aggregate data from schools in New York State regarding the immunization status of all the students attending school. All schools, excluding New York City public schools, have reported the immunization status of all students in grades kindergarten through 12. When a school submits the survey data, it is a snap shot of the immunization status of the students at the time the survey is completed. New York City public schools report the immunization status of all students via the Automate the Schools system (ATS). The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene provides the aggregate data by district to the New York State Department of Health. This map shows the percentage of high school drop outs by county. Counties are shaded based on quartile distribution. The lighter shaded counties have lower percentages of high school drop outs. The darker shaded counties have higher percentages of high school drop outs. New York State Community Health Indicator Reports (CHIRS) were developed in 2012, and are updated annually to consolidate and improve data linkages for the health indicators included in the County Health Assessment Indicators (CHAI) for all communities in New York. The CHIRS present data for more than 300 health indicators that are organized by 15 different health topics. Data if provided for all 62 New York State counties, 11 regions (including New York City), the State excluding New York City, and New York State.
