Any village, town, or city located along the State’s coast or designated inland waterways can prepare a new, or amend an existing, LWRP to address local revitalization issues in the context of broader strategies and initiatives such as regional economic development strategies and resource protection and management. This dataset was created by selecting municipalities that have an approved LWRP from the “NYS Civil Boundaries” dataset provided by the NYS GIS Program Office. Selected polygons were then exported as a separate GIS layer. For wide accessibility, all LWRPs approved by the NYS Secretary of State are publicly available, pursuant to Article 42 of the NYS Executive Law. This coverage provides a definitive inventory of state designated Wetlands (greater than 12.4 acres) in Westchester County. Coverage is based on official New York State Freshwater Wetlands Maps as described in Article 24-0301 of the Environmental Conservation Law. *This layer is a work in progress*Oswego County began the process of digitizing zoning maps into digital geospatial data in 2022. Accuracy of these zones is not guaranteed due to the fact that this data is being digitized from paper maps. Zoning in Oswego County is handled at the local municipal level by Cities, Towns, and Villages and any questioning concerning zoning should be directed to the agency responsible for zoning in those communities, typically the Zoning Board or Code Enforcement Officer.
