Pipeline projects are subject to change. The interactive map at https://data.ny.gov/Energy-Environment/Solar-Electric-Programs-Reported-by-NYSERDA-Beginn/3x8r-34rs provides information on solar photovoltaic (PV) installations supported by NYSERDA throughout New York State since 2000 by county, region, or statewide. Updated monthly, the graphs show the number of projects, expected production, total capacity, and annual trends.

    THE NYSERDA 2023 SOILS DATA IS TO BE USED FOR NYSERDA’S RENEWABLE ENERGY STANDARD (RES) REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) ISSUED AFTER THE PUBLICATION OF THIS DATA OR THE NY-SUN PROGRAM AND IS NOT INTENDED TO REPRESENT ACTUAL IN SITU SOIL CONDITIONS. In order to facilitate the protection of agricultural lands, developers participating in RESRFPs or the NY-Sun program may be responsible for making an agricultural mitigation payment to a designated fund based on the extent to which the solar project’s facility area overlaps with an Agricultural District and New York’s highly productive agricultural soils, identified as Mineral Soil Groups (MSG) classifications 1 through 4 (MSG 1-4). This mitigation approach is designed to discourage solar projects from siting on MSG 1-4. Furthermore, this mitigation approach is designed to encourage retaining agricultural productivity on the project site. Instances where Proposers cannot avoid or minimize impacts on MSG 1-4 will result in a payment to a fund administered by NYSERDA. Disbursement of collected agricultural mitigation payment funds will be informed by consultation with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets (AGM) to support ongoing regional agricultural practices and/or soil conservation initiatives. This dataset contains a combination of soils data from multiple sources to serve participants of NYSERDA’s Large-Scale Renewable and NY-Sun programs. The NYSERDA 2023 Soils Data was created by converting the 2023 New York State Agricultural Land Classification (https://agriculture.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2023/01/masterlistofagriculturalsoils.pdf) master list of soils maintained by AGM to a tabular form and providing a corresponding unique identifier for each listed soil that enables the user to link the soils to the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) SSURGO soils database, allowing for a geographical representation. When the NYSERDA 2023 Soils Data is joined with spatial data from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) SSURGO soils database (https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detail/soils/survey/?cid=nrcs142p2_053627), the corresponding soil unit can be mapped in a geographic information system software. The latest version of the SSURGO database (https://nrcs.app.box.com/v/soils) should be used to get the most accurate join. Data is updated yearly from both NRCS and from AGM, however, NYSERDA will not update this dataset and it will remain intact for future reference. NYSERDA intends on creating new soils datasets for future procurements on an annual basis.     Description

    NYSERDA deployed Emergency Generators and Transfer Switches at Retail Gas Stations as part of the Fuel-NY initiative through its Gas Station Back-up Power Program and Permanent Generator Program using FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding. This dataset is a complete listing of all installations under the two programs, which ran from 6/1/2013 through 1/26/2019. This dataset contains business names, locations, and the type of installation for program participants. These efforts improved the resiliency of the retail gasoline system in the downstate New York area by providing back up power options to gas stations. These stations have either the capability to easily accept backup power or have a backup generator permanently installed on site. The equipment allows the stations to mitigate the effects of power outages, increase the availability of fuel, and support first responders during and after emergencies and severe weather events. Additional socioeconomic benefits are achieved by supporting residents and early recovery efforts with continued access to fuel as well as food, grocery, and necessary household items, increasing the resiliency capabilities of their communities. This dataset represents the most comprehensive source of installed distributed solar projects, including projects that did not receive State funding, for all of New York State since 2000.     NYS Building Footprints - metadata info:The New York State building footprints service contains building footprints with address information. The footprints have address point information folded in from the Streets and Address Matching (SAM - https://gis.ny.gov/streets/) address point file. The building footprints have a field called “Address Range”, this field shows (where available) either a single address or an address range, depending on the address points that fall within the footprint. Ex: 3860 Atlantic Avenue or Ex: 32 - 34 Wheatfield Circle Building footprints in New York State are from four different sources: Microsoft, Open Data, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and Geospatial Services. The majority of the footprints are from NYSERDA, except in NYC where the primary source was Open Data. Microsoft footprints were added where the other 2 sources were missing polygons. Field Descriptions: NYSGeo Source : tells the end user if the source is NYSERDA, Microsoft, NYC Open Data, and could expand from here in the futureAddress Point Count: the number of address points that fall within that building footprintAddress Range : If an address point falls within a footprint it lists the range of those address points. Ex: if a building is on a corner of South Pearl and Beaver Street, 40 points fall on the building, and 35 are South Pearl Street it would give the range of addresses for South Pearl. We also removed sub addresses from this range, primarily apartment related. For example, in above example, it would not list 30 South Pearl, Apartment 5A, it would list 30 South Pearl.Most Common Street : the street name of the largest number of address points. In the above example, it would list “South Pearl” as the most common street since the majority of address points list it as the street. Other Streets: the list of other streets that fall within the building footprint, if any. In the above example, “Beaver Street” would be listed since address points for Beaver Street fall on the footprint but are not in the majority.County Name : County name populated from CIESINs. If not populated from CIESINs, identified by the GSMunicipality Name : Municipality name populated from CIESINs. If not populated from CIESINs, identified by the GSSource: Source where the data came from. If NYSGeo Source = NYSERDA, the data would typically list orthoimagery, LIDAR, county data, etc.Source ID: if NYSGeo Source = NYSERDA, Source ID would typically list an orthoimage or LIDAR tileSource Date: Date the footprint was created. If the source image was from 2016 orthoimagery, 2016 would be the Source Date.
