    Description

The latest Odin Sub-Millimetre Radiometer (SMR) datasets have been generated by Chalmers University of Technology and Molflow within the Odin-SMR Recalibration and Harmonisation project (http://odin.rss.chalmers.se/), funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) to create a fully consistent and homogeneous dataset from the 20 years of satellite operations. The Odin satellite was launched in February 2001 as a joint undertaking between Sweden, Canada, France and Finland, and is part of the ESA Third Party Missions (TPM) programme since 2007. The complete Odin-SMR data archive was reprocessed applying a revised calibration scheme and upgraded algorithms. The Level 1b dataset is entirely reconsolidated, while Level 2 products are regenerated for the main mesospheric and stratospheric frequency modes (i.e., FM 01, 02, 08, 13, 14, 19, 21, 22, 24). The resulting dataset represents the first full-mission reprocessing campaign of the mission, which is still in operation.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Odin population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Odin across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Odin was 910, a 0.66% decrease year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Odin population was 916, a decline of 1.40% compared to a population of 929 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Odin decreased by 195. In this period, the peak population was 1,105 in the year 2000. The numbers suggest that the population has already reached its peak and is showing a trend of decline. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    Description

The OmniDirectional INdoor (ODIN) dataset is a large-scale omnidirectional dataset that contains a wide range of synchronized modalities, including images and videos captured by cameras of different types while participants engage in various daily activities, as well as their physiological data. The ODIN dataset will enable research in diverse areas such as human pose estimation, activity recognition, person tracking and monitoring, scene understanding, privacy preservation, biometric monitoring, novel view synthesis, generative modeling, 3D scene reconstruction, and image registration. With our initial release, we aim to stimulate research in 3D human pose estimation using omnidirectional cameras. This area of research has been limited, perhaps due to the difficulty of the problem and the scarcity of datasets. ODIN provides camera-frame 3D pose estimates associated with omnidirectional camera images. We propose an innovative unsupervised pipeline to obtain these pose estimates in real-life indoor environments, while maintaining the state of the surroundings, and without the need for expensive equipment. The dataset is accessible at https://web.ua.es/en/ami4aha/odin-dataset.html.

    Measurement technique
The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the two variables, namely (a) population and (b) population as a percentage of the total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the racial categories idetified by the US Census Bureau. It is ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to the identified racial categories, and do not rely on any ethnicity classification. For further information regarding these estimates, please feel free to reach out to us via email at research@neilsberg.com.
