The Crown Land Use Policy Atlas is a web mapping application that is the source of area-specific land use policy for Crown lands in a large part of central and northern Ontario. The information covered by the Atlas will eventually be expanded to include southern Ontario and the community based land use plans in the Far North.
The Atlas contains land use policies consolidated from a variety of planning documents such as District Land Use Guidelines (1983 as revised); local land use area plans; Ontario's Living Legacy Land Use Strategy (1999) and the Guide to Crown Land Use Planning (2011).

Using Deep learning Objects, the images were re-classified into useful consistent colours. Deep Learning Objects and Training The resulting mosaic was then prepared for reclassification using the Label Objects for Deep Learning tool in ArcGIS Pro. A training sample, "LandUseTrainingSamples20211220", was created in the geodatabase for all land use types as follows: Neighbourhoods Insitutional Natural Areas Core Employment Areas Mixed Use Areas Apartment Neighbourhoods Parks Roads Utility Corridors Other Open Spaces General Employment Areas Regeneration Areas Lettering (not a land use type, but an image colour (black), used to label streets). By identifying the letters, it then made the reclassification and vectorization results easier to clean up of unnecessary clutter caused by the labels of streets. This map shows how commercial activity is distributed within urban areas and the impact of commercial services on the urban landscape, by mapping what proportion of stores (hence jobs) in an urban area that are found in industrial zones. Industrial zones are extensive areas zoned for industrial use that nowadays are home to wholesalers, big-box retailers and a variety of services and small office buildings. These are specialized destinations, often oriented to other businesses; not the kinds of places you stumble upon by accident. As the most recent form of commercial concentration, they are most often found in rapidly growing cities, especially the largest cities. Since industrial zones support a wide range of specialized activities they usually benefit from commercial specialization as indicated by the index of centrality. The distribution indicates that cities in Ontario and the Prairies have higher values than cities in Quebec, the Atlantic region and British Columbia.

This dataset combines modified data from the OBBA (2001-2005) (Bird Studies Canada, 2008), the Avonet dataset (Tobias et al., 2022), and the Ontario Land Cover Compilation v2 (Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, 2014), specifically covering the Canadian portion of the Great Lakes Basin Watershed. It includes data on 211 species from the OBBA, though all location-identifying information has been excluded. Species trait data originate from the Avonet dataset, with detailed trait descriptions available from the original Avonet dataset.
Land cover classifications were simplified into two categories: "Natural" and "Human Modified." Although an "Other" category was initially present, it was removed prior to model development. The data was resampled into various pixel sizes, ranging from the original 15m resolution to 150m, 300m, 500m, and 1000m.
