The new tiling scheme is much more precise than tiling schemes of the legacy basemaps Esri released years ago. We recommend that you start using this new basemap for any new web maps in WGS84 that you plan to author. Due to the number of differences between the old and new tiling schemes, some web clients will not be able to overlay tile layers in the old and new tiling schemes in one web map.

UnRectified Orthomosaic of Hopkins, Belize. Source images were collected in June and July of 2017 as part of the University of Central Florida Research Experiences for Undergraduates summer program. Images were collected using DJI Phantom 4 Pro quadcopters flown at an average altitude of 150m. Cumulative flight time for Hopkins was approximately 3 hours. Images were processed using Esri's Drone2Map to create this orthomosaic. The spatial resolution of this orthomosaic is 11.06cm per pixel. This orthomosaic is open-source, freely available, and is not intended to be used for nefarious or illegal purposes. Our goal is to provide the imagery to stimulate citizen science and greater scientific discovery of coastal Belize. This orthomosaic has not been rectified and is not guaranteed to be 100% spatially accurate and should not be used for survey purposes. Differences in location may be due to errors in processing or previously outdated imagery.This imagery may contain areas of distortion known as ghosting, this occurs when the processing software has difficulty overlaying overlapping images and these internal processing errors may result in a distorted or blurred areas in the imagery. Images for this orthomosaic were collected in collaboration with Citizen Science GIS, University of Central Florida, and University of Belize.
