The latest geometric revision to the Parish Boundaries was made 8/2/2012.All revisions are described below under "Credits".Louisiana Parish Boundaries approved by Resolution of the GIS Council on January 19, 2000. This is a region dataset depicting the polygon boundaries of the 64 parishes comprising the state of Louisiana. Parish boundaries extend 3 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico from the coastline. This dataset was derived from many data sources and conveys the best currently (2005) available representation of the parishes of Louisiana and as a consequence, the best currently available representation of the territorial bounds of the state.

A map service showing the approximate boundary of Orleans Parish. This boundary does not include Lake Pontchartrain.
These parish maps of the County of Cumberland are probably the earliest charting copies of parish maps put into office use in the Lands Department.
There appear to be two distinct series (neither of which is complete), plus a number of maps which do not fall into discernible categories.
The first series comprises maps which were probably compiled at the time of the Proclamation of the Parishes and Hundreds of the County of Cumberland in May 1835 (see Supplement to the NSW Government Gazette, 27 May 1835). None of these maps appear to have been annotated after their date of compilation.
The second series comprises maps which appear to be based on those drawn and published by Brownrigg (surveyor) between 1846 and 1850. NRS 12466 contains a number of these maps in printed form.
It should be noted that NRS 13028 (Registrar General: Charting copies of County of Cumberland Parish Maps) includes many maps similar to those in the abovementioned series.
(SR Map Nos. 300-361 and 6219). 63 maps.

Parishes are subdivisions of local authorities in many parts of England, and their councils are the most local level of government. Unlike electoral wards/divisions however, parishes are not found in all parts of England. The Welsh equivalents are communities. Note that the full term for administrative parishes is 'civil parishes', to distinguish them from the ecclesiastical parishes which are found in all parts of the UK.

"The parish plan layer is an index to over 90 indivudually referenced plans of Ballarat and surrounds. When this layer is active, the visibility of each plan can be toggled on or off by clicking on the red bordered polygons. The full extent of the georeferenced image will cover a larger area than the polygon. We have chosen to include the entire map sheet and the polygon represents the parish outline within the image.

Parish depicts the boundaries of 7,377 areas formed by the division of 141 counties. It is a polygon feature class within the NSW Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB). Parishes are divided into separately disposable parcels called ‘portions’, these being the common basic units of land disposed of by the Crown. Other basic units are allotments in Government Towns and Villages.

The PARISH OF ARCHER Mine map was published in 1970 at 40 Chains to an Inch, and charted by the Mines District Office to administer permit and permit related spatial information. The map was maintained internally as a provisional office chart and is located within the Rockhampton (9051) 1:100 000 map area.
The map product is available to all government agencies, industry and the public for reference.
Title and Image reference number is PARISH OF ARCHER_0001.
Hard copy can be found in Cabinet PU78-45 Drawer 1.
Main Topics:
In the middle of 2001 Roger Kain and Richard Oliver, from the University of Exeter, published a substantial work entitled Historic Parishes of England and Wales: Electronic Map - Gazetteer- Metadata. This was the final product of a project aimed at locating and mapping the boundaries of parish and sub-parish units of the mid-nineteenth century. The authors published the results in a series of electronic maps supplied on CD-ROM. Each one of these 115 maps contain a scanned 1”:1 mile OS New Popular Series map, overlain by the boundaries. A reference number can be found in each of the polygons that can then be used to look up information about that parish in gazetteer in an accompanying book.
A major limitation of this work is that although the boundaries are in digital form, they are divided into 115 tiles, none of which have any spatial co-ordinate information inherent in them. This means that although the maps are invaluable as a reference tool, they can not be used together within a GIS to select, analyse and present historic information.
We have therefore created a single digital map of the boundaries to provide a single, continuous coverage of polygons, each of which contain the information provided by Kain and Oliver in their accompanying book. This information includes the parish name, Ancient County, and a reference number that coincides with entries for that parish in the 1851 census report.
It is recommended that users also order disc 1 of study 4348; Historic Parishes of England and Wales : an Electronic Map of Boundaries before 1850 with a Gazetteer and Metadata
Please note: this study does not include information on named individuals and would therefore not be useful for personal family history research.
USGS and FEMA collaborated to collect data on residences in six of the twenty disaster-declared parishes in Louisiana during the August 8–11 floods in 2016. The National Map Corps (TNMCorps), a volunteer program run the National Geospatial Program of the U.S. Geological Survey, were invited to help with this task. From August 30 to September 30, 2016, Corps editors created and classified data points for each building within the six parishes. FEMA used this information to find which buildings in the parishes were residences, and to estimate by how many feet underwater the houses were. This data was then used to help determine the amount of assistance provided to homeowners in these parishes. The data points were summarized into 5 km hexagons (a process called hexbinning) to provide an easier visualization of the number of points collected by TNMCorps. Lighter colors indicate more buildings per hexagon. Per-hexagon numbers range from 1 to 1800.Map also includes flood extent estimates from FEMA and GOSEP (Louisiana Governer's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management). Parish outlines derived from U.S. Census TIGER data.
The Catholic Church Parish hosted feature feature layer displays the Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church parishes within East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. The data is updated as needed and is maintained by the Department of Information Services.
