TwitterThe Energy Efficiency programs of the New York Power Authority provide energy-efficiency improvements, with no up-front costs, to public schools and other government facilities. From start to finish, the Power Authority works with facility managers to identify, design and install new lighting and motors, as well as upgrades to heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. We try to address all energy efficiency improvements in a single, comprehensive effort. This data set contains information on energy efficiency projects completed since 1987. The data set is updated in a quarterly basis to reflect new data as projects are implemented. The information includes project location, customer name, project name, total cost, and energy efficiency benefits, including energy reduction (electric, natural gas, oil) and greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

TwitterThe SEPs library is a database that tracks completed projects throughout Maryland and offers a means for the public to propose a SEP for future consideration. The library will include the project's information such as cost, the underlying basis for the SEP (such as a settlement agreement), detailed proposal, and workplan. The SEPs library will also list future projects proposed by overburdened and underserved communities and any other interested party. MDE is continually seeking public feedback and will reach out to citizens to seek input on projects which would directly benefit their communities.

Purpose:
This viewer is for the general public to see fuels reduction projects approved and completed under the CalVTP.
Background:
The California Vegetation Treatment Program (CalVTP), developed by
the Board of Forestry and Fire Protection (Board), is a critical
component of the state’s multi-faceted strategy to address California’s
wildfire crisis. The CalVTP defines the vegetation treatment activities
and associated environmental protections to reduce the risk of loss of
lives and property, reduce fire suppression costs, restore ecosystems,
and protect natural resources as well as other assets at risk from
wildfire. The CalVTP supports the use of prescribed burning, mechanical
treatments, hand crews, herbicides, and prescribed herbivory as tools to
reduce hazardous vegetation around communities in the Wildland-Urban
Interface (WUI), to construct fuel breaks, and to restore healthy
ecological fire regimes.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has the primary responsibility for implementing proposed CalVTP vegetation treatments, though many local, regional, and state agencies could also employ the CalVTP to implement vegetation treatments if their projects are within the scope of the CalVTP (see Final PEIR, Chapter 2, Program Description). The CalVTP will allow CAL FIRE, along with other agency partners, to expand their vegetation treatment activities to treat up to approximately 250,000 acres per year, contributing to the target of 500,000 annual acres of treatment on non-federal lands as expressed in Executive Order (EO) B-52-18.
The Board has prepared a Final Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR), which evaluates the environmental impacts of the CalVTP in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The Board certified the Final PEIR and approved the CalVTP on December 30, 2019.

TwitterThe Global Human Footprint Dataset of the Last of the Wild Project, Version 1, 2002 (LWP-1) is the Human Influence Index (HII) normalized by biome and realm. The HII is a global dataset of 1-kilometer grid cells, created from nine global data layers covering human population pressure (population density, population settlements), human land use and infrastructure (built up areas, nighttime lights, land use/land cover), and human access (coastlines, roads, railroads, navigable rivers). The dataset in Clarke 1866 Geographic Coordinate System is produced by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and the Columbia University Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN).

The Mountain Legacy Project compiles historical survey photographs, maps and field notes created between years 1861 to 1953 by surveyors with the Geological Survey of Canada, the Department of the Interior’s Dominion Land Survey and other government departments. Repeated photographs of surveyed historical landscapes have been captured since 1998 onwards, in order to assess environmental change in the Canadian Rocky Mountains over the last century. This database contains archival information describing the historical surveys using information pieced together through research of field notes and other historical references. Field notes, photogtaphic, spatial, and other descriptive information are provided for repeated visits of sites.

The Jellyfish Database Initiative (JeDI) is a scientifically-coordinated global database dedicated to gelatinous zooplankton (members of the Cnidaria, Ctenophora and Thaliacea) and associated environmental data. The database holds 476,000 quantitative, categorical, presence-absence and presence only records of gelatinous zooplankton spanning the past four centuries (1790-2011) assembled from a variety of published and unpublished sources. Gelatinous zooplankton data are reported to species level, where identified, but taxonomic information on phylum, family and order are reported for all records. Other auxiliary metadata, such as physical, environmental and biometric information relating to the gelatinous zooplankton metadata, are included with each respective entry. JeDI has been developed and designed as an open access research tool for the scientific community to quantitatively define the global baseline of gelatinous zooplankton populations and to describe long-term and large-scale trends in gelatinous zooplankton populations and blooms. It has also been constructed as a future repository of datasets, thus allowing retrospective analyses of the baseline and trends in global gelatinous zooplankton populations to be conducted in the future.

TwitterThese data were automated to provide an accurate high-resolution historical shoreline of High Head and Old East Harbor, MA suitable as a geographic information system (GIS) data layer. These data are derived from shoreline maps that were produced by the NOAA National Ocean Service including its predecessor agencies which were based on an office interpretation of imagery and/or field survey. The NGS attribution scheme 'Coastal Cartographic Object Attribute Source Table (C-COAST)' was developed to conform the attribution of various sources of shoreline data into one attribution catalog. C-COAST is not a recognized standard, but was influenced by the International Hydrographic Organization's S-57 Object-Attribute standard so the data would be more accurately translated into S-57. TwitterData from this project focuses on the evaluation of breeding lines. Significant progress was made in advancing breeding populations directed towards release of improved varieties in Tanzania. Thirty promising F4:7, 1st generation 2014 PIC (Phaseolus Improvement Cooperative) and ~100 F4:6, 2nd generation 2015 PIC breeding lines were selected. In addition, ~300 F4:5, 3rd generation 2016 PIC single plant selections were completed in Arusha and Mbeya. These breeding lines, derived from 109 PIC populations specifically developed to combine abiotic and biotic stress tolerance, showed superior agronomic potential compared with checks and local landraces. The diversity, scale, and potential of the material in the PIC breeding pipeline is invaluable and requires continued support to ensure the release of varieties that promise to increase the productivity of common bean in the E. African region. Data available includes databases, spreadsheets, and images related to the project. Resources in this dataset:Resource Title: Data Dictionary. Resource Title: PIC (Phaseolus Improvement Cooperative) Populations . File Name: PIC-breeding-populations.xlsxResource Description: The complete list of PIC breeding populations (Excel Format) PIC (Phaseolus Improvement Cooperative) populations are bulked populations for improvement of common bean in Feed the Future Countries, with a principal focus on sub-Saharan Africa. These populations are for distribution to collaborators, are segregating for key biotic and abiotic stress constraints, and can be used for selection and release of improved cultivars/germplasm. Many of these populations are derived from crosses between ADP landrances and cultivars from sub-Saharan Africa and other improved genotypes with key biotic or abiotic stress tolerance. Phenotypic and genotypic information related to the parents of the crosses can be found in the ADP Database.
