To measure the two variables, namely (a) population and (b) population as a percentage of the total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the age groups. For age groups we divided it into roughly a 5 year bucket for ages between 0 and 85. For over 85, we aggregated data into a single group for all ages. About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the data for the Piedmont, OK population pyramid, which represents the Piedmont population distribution across age and gender, using estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. It lists the male and female population for each age group, along with the total population for those age groups. Higher numbers at the bottom of the table suggest population growth, whereas higher numbers at the top indicate declining birth rates. Furthermore, the dataset can be utilized to understand the youth dependency ratio, old-age dependency ratio, total dependency ratio, and potential support ratio.

    Key observations

    • Youth dependency ratio, which is the number of children aged 0-14 per 100 persons aged 15-64, for Piedmont, OK, is 31.5.
    • Old-age dependency ratio, which is the number of persons aged 65 or over per 100 persons aged 15-64, for Piedmont, OK, is 24.8.
    • Total dependency ratio for Piedmont, OK is 56.2.
    • Potential support ratio, which is the number of youth (working age population) per elderly, for Piedmont, OK is 4.0.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Piedmont population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Piedmont across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Piedmont was 10,635, a 1.28% decrease year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Piedmont population was 10,773, a decline of 2.19% compared to a population of 11,014 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Piedmont decreased by 369. In this period, the peak population was 11,506 in the year 2016. The numbers suggest that the population has already reached its peak and is showing a trend of decline. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

The statistic shows the demographic dynamics in the Italian region of Piedmont in 2016. According to the figure, the region faced a negative trend in 2016, with the resident population decreasing by around **** thousand units. The result is mainly due to the natural balance (difference between births and deaths) that resulted in a deficit for almost **** thousand individuals. The immigration from abroad of around ** thousand individuals had been more than enough to save the balance of those migrating abroad (around ** hundreds).

    Description

Data set of a follow-up study (one of four Established Populations for Epidemiologic Studies of the Elderly - EPESE) that obtains information on four primary outcome variables (cognitive status, depression, functional status, and mortality) and four primary independent variables (social support, social class, social location, and chronic illness); and examines the relationships between social factors and chronic disease on the one hand and health outcomes on the other. This data set complements the other three sites providing a population which is both urban and rural and contains approximately equal numbers of black and white participants across a broad socioeconomic base. The Duke site was originally funded by the NIA Epidemiology, Demography and Biometry Program (EDBP) to complete seven waves of data collection (three in-person and four telephone interviews) in order to examine the health of a sample of 4,162 persons aged 65+, and factors that influence their health and use of health services. The cohort was originally interviewed in 1986/87 and followed annually for 6 years thereafter. The study design consisted of a random stratified household sample with an over-sampling of blacks. Questionnaire topics include the following: Demographics, Alcohol Use, Independence, Health condition, Cognition, Personal mastery, Health Service Utilization, Activity of daily living, Social Support, Hearing and Vision, Incontinence, Social Interaction, Weight and Height, Smoking, Religion, Nutrition, Life Satisfaction, Self Esteem, Sleep, Medications, Economic Status, Depression, Life Changes, Blood pressure. National Death Index files have been searched and death certificates obtained for the members of this study. Sample members have been matched with Medicare Part A files to obtain information on hospitalizations, and will be matched on Medicare Part B (outpatient) files. Data from the first wave of the survey is in the public domain and can be obtained from NACDA or from the National Archives, Center for Electronic Records in Washington, DC. * Dates of Study: 1996-1997 * Study Features: Longitudinal, Oversampling * Sample Size: 1986-1988: 4,162 Links: * ICPSR: http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/icpsrweb/ICPSR/studies/02744 * National Archives: http://www.archives.gov/research/electronic-records/

    Measurement technique
The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the three variables, namely (a) Population (Male), (b) Population (Female), and (c) Gender Ratio (Males per 100 Females), we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the gender classifications (biological sex) reported by the US Census Bureau across 18 age groups, ranging from under 5 years to 85 years and above. These age groups are described above in the variables section. For further information regarding these estimates, please feel free to reach out to us via email at research@neilsberg.com.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the population of Piedmont by gender across 18 age groups. It lists the male and female population in each age group along with the gender ratio for Piedmont. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Piedmont by gender and age. For example, using this dataset, we can identify the largest age group for both Men and Women in Piedmont. Additionally, it can be used to see how the gender ratio changes from birth to senior most age group and male to female ratio across each age group for Piedmont.

    Key observations

Largest age group (population): Male # 0-4 years (490) | Female # 35-39 years (421). Source: U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates.

    Scope of gender :

Please note that American Community Survey asks a question about the respondents current sex, but not about gender, sexual orientation, or sex at birth. The question is intended to capture data for biological sex, not gender. Respondents are supposed to respond with the answer as either of Male or Female. Our research and this dataset mirrors the data reported as Male and Female for gender distribution analysis.
