    This dataset compiles a comprehensive database containing 90,327 street segments in New York City, covering their street design features, streetscape design, Vision Zero treatments, and neighborhood land use. It has two scales-street and street segment group (aggregation of same type of street at neighborhood). This dataset is derived based on all publicly available data, most from NYC Open Data. The detailed methods can be found in the published paper, Pedestrian and Car Occupant Crash Casualties Over a 9-Year Span of Vision Zero in New York City.     Description

    Shapefile of zoning section map index, grid to determine which zoning section map relates to specific areas of NYC. A sectional index grid to determine which Zoning Map refers to specific areas of New York City. Zoning maps show the boundaries of zoning districts throughout the city. The maps are regularly updated after the City Planning Commission and the City Council have approved proposed zoning changes. The set of 126 maps, which are part of the Zoning Resolution, are displayed in 35 sections. Each section is identified by a number from 1 to 35. Each map covers an area of approximately 8,000 feet (north/south) by 12,500 feet (east/west).

    Description

    The Flood Map for Planning Service includes several layers of information. This includes the Flood Zones data which shows the extent of land at present day risk of flooding from rivers and the sea, ignoring the benefits of defences, for the following scenarios:

    • Flood Zone 1 – Land having a less than 0.1% (1 in 1000) annual probability of flooding. • Flood Zone 2 – Land having between 0.1% - 1% (1 in 100 to 1 in 1000) annual probability of flooding from rivers or between 0.1% - 0.5% (1 in 200 to 1 in 1000) annual probability of flooding from the sea, and accepted recorded flood outlines . • Flood Zone 3 – Areas shown to be at a 1% (1 in 100) or greater annual probability of flooding from rivers or 0.5% (1 in 200) or greater annual probability of flooding from the sea.

    Flood Zone 1 is not shown in this dataset, but covers all areas not contained within Flood Zones 2 and 3. Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) use the Flood Zones to determine if they must consult the Environment Agency on planning applications. They are also used to determine if development is incompatible and whether development is subject to the exception test. The Flood Zones are one of several flood risk datasets used to determine the need for planning applications to be supported by a Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) and subject to the sequential test.

    The Flood Zones are a composite dataset including national and local modelled data, and information from past floods.

    The Flood Zones are designed to only give an indication of flood risk to an area of land and are not suitable for showing whether an individual property is at risk of flooding. This is because we cannot know all the details about each property.

    Users of these datasets should always check they are suitable for the intended use

    Status: COMPLETED 2010. The data was converted from the most recent (2010) versions of the adopted plans, which can be found at https://cms3.tucsonaz.gov/planning/plans/ Supplemental Information: In March 2010, Pima Association of Governments (PAG), in cooperation with the City of Tucson (City), initiated the Planned Land Use Data Conversion Project. This 9-month effort involved evaluating mapped land use designations and selected spatially explicit policies for nearly 50 of the City's adopted neighborhood, area, and subregional plans and converting the information into a Geographic Information System (GIS) format. Further documentation for this file can be obtained from the City of Tucson Planning and Development Services Department or Pima Association of Governments Technical Services. A brief summary report was provided, as requested, to the City of Tucson which highlights some of the key issues found during the conversion process (e.g., lack of mapping and terminology consistency among plans). The feature class "Plan_boundaries" represents the boundaries of the adopted plans. The feature class "Plan_mapped_land_use" represents the land use designations as they are mapped in the adopted plans. Some information was gathered that is implicit based on the land use designation or zones (see field descriptions below). Since this information is not explicitly stated in the plans, it should only be viewed by City staff for general planning purposes. The feature class "Plan_selected_policies" represents the spatially explicit policies that were fairly straightforward to map. Since these policies are not represented in adopted maps, this feature class should only be viewed by City staff for general planning purposes only. 2010 - created by Jamison Brown, working as an independent contractor for Pima Association of Governments, created this file in 2010 by digitizing boundaries as depicted (i.e. for the mapped land use) or described in the plans (i.e. for the narrative policies). In most cases, this involved tracing based on parcel (paregion) or street center line (stnetall) feature classes. Snapping was used to provide line coincidence. For some map conversions, freehand sketches were drawn to mimick the freehand sketches in the adopted plan.     Description

    This dataset contains boundaries for land designated by a local planning authority as being green belt, grouped using the greenbelt core category. It can be used for planning purposes, such as preparing local plans to define areas that are kept permanently open and free from urban sprawl. Local planning authorities provide annual returns in March and we publish the data in autumn. This provides a snapshot in time and won't reflect any changes to green belt boundaries made since the local planning authorities submitted their annual returns.

    The Digital City Map (DCM) data represents street lines and other features shown on the City Map, which is the official street map of the City of New York. The City Map consists of 5 different sets of maps, one for each borough, totaling over 8000 individual paper maps. The DCM datasets were created in an ongoing effort to digitize official street records and bring them together with other street information to make them easily accessible to the public. The Digital City Map (DCM) is comprised of seven datasets; Digital City Map, Street Center Line, City Map Alterations, Arterial Highways and Major Streets, Street Name Changes (areas), Street Name Changes (lines), and Street Name Changes (points).

    Description

    The Flood Map for Planning Service includes several layers of information. This includes the Flood Zones plus climate change data which shows how the combined extent of Flood Zones 2 and 3 could increase with climate change over the next century, ignoring the benefits of any existing flood defences. We have assumed no changes to flood defences or land-use that could occur in future. The effects of climate change on flood risk we may see in the future could be different to those currently considered. Flood Zones plus climate change should be used to help planners and developers identify the need for: • a site-specific flood risk assessment • the sequential test. The dataset can also help to inform the preparation of strategic flood risk assessments. The Flood Zones plus climate change are a composite dataset including national and local modelled data, and information from past floods. The Flood Zones plus climate change are designed to only give an indication of flood risk to an area of land and are not suitable for showing whether an individual property is at risk of flooding. This is because we cannot know all the details about each property. Flood Zones plus climate change uses the following climate change allowances: • ‘Central’ allowance for the 2080s epoch (2070-2125) for risk of flooding from rivers • ‘Upper End’ allowance for risk of flooding from the sea, accounting for cumulative sea level rise to 2125.     The Flood Map for Planning (Rivers and Sea) includes several layers of information. This dataset covers Flood Zone 3. It is our best estimate of the areas of land at risk of flooding, when the presence of flood defences are ignored and covers land with a 1 in 100 (1%) or greater chance of flooding each year from Rivers; or with a 1 in 200 (0.5%) or greater chance of flooding each year from the Sea.

    This dataset is designed to support flood risk assessments in line with Planning Practice Guidance; and raise awareness of the likelihood of flooding to encourage people living and working in areas prone to flooding to find out more and take appropriate action.

    The information provided is largely based on modelled data and is therefore indicative rather than specific.

    Locations may also be at risk from other sources of flooding, such as high groundwater levels, overland run off from heavy rain, or failure of infrastructure such as sewers and storm drains.

    The information indicates the flood risk to areas of land and is not sufficiently detailed to show whether an individual property is at risk of flooding, therefore properties may not always face the same chance of flooding as the areas that surround them. This is because we do not hold details about properties and their floor levels.

    Information on flood depth, speed or volume of flow is not included.

    Description

    These data describe the planning procedures in their latest known state, specifying their situation in terms of progress and effectiveness. An urban planning procedure lasts on average three years.This description is voluntarily limited to meet a specific objective: show, through summary maps, the geographical distribution and progress of PLU procedures relevant to the management of urban and rural planning policies. These include planning procedures in preparation, revision or repeal. In order to allow an exhaustive summary of the progress of the procedures, the procedures of the past years which have led to urban planning documents which are now enforceable are kept in these data (a planning document is associated with them in the file N_DOCUMENT_URBA_ddd). On the other hand, old urban planning procedures (i.e. those that have resulted in planning documents that are no longer enforceable) and procedures cancelled before their completion are not kept in these data.
