Northeastern United States State Boundary data are intended for geographic display of state boundaries at statewide and regional levels. Use it to map and label states on a map. These data are derived from Northeastern United States Political Boundary Master layer. This information should be displayed and analyzed at scales appropriate for 1:24,000-scale data. The State of Connecticut, Department of Environmental Protection (CTDEP) assembled this regional data layer using data from other states in order to create a single, seamless representation of political boundaries within the vicinity of Connecticut that could be easily incorporated into mapping applications as background information. More accurate and up-to-date information may be available from individual State government Geographic Information System (GIS) offices. Not intended for maps printed at map scales greater or more detailed than 1:24,000 scale (1 inch = 2,000 feet.)

The subject file represents the Arkansas portion of areas to be submerged derived from 1:100,000-scale (""intermediate-scale"") Digital Line Graph data created by the USGS. Digital Line Graph (DLG) data are digital representations of cartographic information. DLG's of map features are converted to digital form from maps and related sources. Intermediate-scale DLG data are derived from USGS 1:100,000-scale 30- by 60-minute quadrangle maps. If these maps are not available, Bureau of Land Management planimetric maps at a scale of 1:100,000 are used. Intermediate-scale DLG's are broken down into five categories: 1. Public Land survey, 2. boundaries, 3. transportation 4. hydrography, and 5. hypsography.

    Description

California's Coastal Zone generally extends seaward to the state's outer limit of jurisdiction, including all offshore islands, and inland to approximately 1,000 yards from the mean high tide line (MHTL) of the sea, or in significant coastal estuarine, habitat, and recreational areas to the first major ridgeline paralleling the sea or five miles from the mean high tide line of the sea, whichever is less. In developed urban areas the zone generally extends inland less than 1,000 yards. This data set represents the landward boundary of California's Coastal Zone. Public Resources Code (PRC) Section 30103(a) specifically defines California's Coastal Zone as that land and water area of the State of California from the Oregon border to the border of the Republic of Mexico depicted on maps identified and set forth in Section 17 of that chapter of the Statutes of the 1975-76 Regular Session enacting PRC Division 20 (the Coastal Act of 1976). PRC Section 30103(b) directed the Coastal Commission to prepare and adopt more detailed 1:24,000 scale Coastal Zone Boundary (CZB) maps, which occurred March 1, 1977. These 161 adopted maps provide the official basis for all other representations of the landward CZB. The digital version of the CZB created by developing this shapefile is a conformed copy of the official boundary, and in some locations reflects legislative changes and Coastal Commission minor adjustments adopted from time to time since March 1977.

Section 30103 of the Coastal Act:

Coastal zone; map; purpose (a) "Coastal zone" means that land and water area of the State of California from the Oregon border to the border of the Republic of Mexico, specified on the maps identified and set forth in Section 17 of Chapter 1330 of the Statutes of 1976, extending seaward to the state's outer limit of jurisdiction, including all offshore islands, and 11 extending inland generally 1,000 yards from the mean high tide line of the sea. In significant coastal estuarine, habitat, and recreational areas it extends inland to the first major ridgeline paralleling the sea or five miles from the mean high tide line of the sea, whichever is less, and in developed urban areas the zone generally extends inland less than 1,000 yards. The coastal zone does not include the area of jurisdiction of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, established pursuant to Title 7.2 (commencing with Section 66600) of the Government Code, nor any area contiguous thereto, including any river, stream, tributary, creek, or flood control or drainage channel flowing into such area.

Note that the California's State Waters limit, which generally is 3 nautical miles [5.6 km] from shore, extends farther offshore (as much as 12 nautical miles) between Santa Cruz and Monterey, so that it encompasses all of Monterey Bay.

    Description

This data set consists of ground control polygons used for model training and evaluation (ground_control_polygons.gpkg): This dataset consists of refined vegetation polygons digitized across the island of Lāna‘i representing the 15 land cover classes of interest. High-resolution aerial imagery and extensive field experience were used to iteratively collect and improve the polygons through expert review and interpretation. The polygons were divided into a 250m grid overlaying the island to balance sample size and spatial resolution while reducing spatial autocorrelation, resulting in 1,754 smaller polygons. These polygon data served as the primary dataset used to train, validate, and evaluate the classification models through cross-validation. An iterative collection process aimed to achieve satisfactory model accuracy across all classes prior to final model selection and island-wide mapping.

    Description

Northeastern United States Town Boundary data are intended for geographic display of state, county and town (municipal) boundaries at statewide and regional levels. Use it to map and label towns on a map.

    Description

This dataset accompanies Open File Report 2009-02. Between 1971 and 1983, the Alberta Research Council created a series of hydrogeological maps of Alberta. The geologists examined the sediment types present and used existing water well information to assign yield values to distinct zones within the mapped areas. They also looked at the materials, generally to a depth of 305 metres (1000 feet) below ground surface, and added the yields of the sediments encountered within this interval to arrive at a yield value for the whole. Alberta Geological Survey compiled the shapefiles for the yield polygons, digitized by the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Agency, and then digitized the remaining linework for the remaining map areas. Afterwards, we created a geodatabase of the yield polygons for the entire province and assigned yield values to the polygons based on the original maps. We also assigned the most likely formation name, age and lithology to the yield polygon.
