    In this dataset:

    We present temporally dynamic population distribution data from the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Finland, at the level of 250 m by 250 m statistical grid cells. Three hourly population distribution datasets are provided for regular workdays (Mon – Thu), Saturdays and Sundays. The data are based on aggregated mobile phone data collected by the biggest mobile network operator in Finland. Mobile phone data are assigned to statistical grid cells using an advanced dasymetric interpolation method based on ancillary data about land cover, buildings and a time use survey. The data were validated by comparing population register data from Statistics Finland for night-time hours and a daytime workplace registry. The resulting 24-hour population data can be used to reveal the temporal dynamics of the city and examine population variations relevant to for instance spatial accessibility analyses, crisis management and planning.

    Organization of data

    The dataset is packaged into a single Zipfile Helsinki_dynpop_matrix.zip which contains following files:

    HMA_Dynamic_population_24H_workdays.csv represents the dynamic population for average workday in the study area.

    HMA_Dynamic_population_24H_sat.csv represents the dynamic population for average saturday in the study area.

    HMA_Dynamic_population_24H_sun.csv represents the dynamic population for average sunday in the study area.

    target_zones_grid250m_EPSG3067.geojson represents the statistical grid in ETRS89/ETRS-TM35FIN projection that can be used to visualize the data on a map using e.g. QGIS.

    Column names

    YKR_ID : a unique identifier for each statistical grid cell (n=13,231). The identifier is compatible with the statistical YKR grid cell data by Statistics Finland and Finnish Environment Institute.

    H0, H1 ... H23 : Each field represents the proportional distribution of the total population in the study area between grid cells during a one-hour period. In total, 24 fields are formatted as “Hx”, where x stands for the hour of the day (values ranging from 0-23). For example, H0 stands for the first hour of the day: 00:00 - 00:59. The sum of all cell values for each field equals to 100 (i.e. 100% of total population for each one-hour period)

    In order to visualize the data on a map, the result tables can be joined with the target_zones_grid250m_EPSG3067.geojson data. The data can be joined by using the field YKR_ID as a common key between the datasets.

    Description

    Population: This dataset contains 65-years’ time serial data of whole China (unit: million persons), each provinces (unit: 10000 persons), and each county. The source data are originally collected from China Statistical Yearbook from 1949 to 2013. The county data covers 2000, 2006, 2007, and 2009. In addition, 4 years (1995, 2000, 2005, 2010) population distributions cover the whole land region in China are also included in this dataset. Such data is expressed as raster format with 1 km resolution and a projection of Albers. Attribute information mainly includes population density (unit: number of person per square kilometer).     About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the population of Sheridan by gender across 18 age groups. It lists the male and female population in each age group along with the gender ratio for Sheridan. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Sheridan by gender and age. For example, using this dataset, we can identify the largest age group for both Men and Women in Sheridan. Additionally, it can be used to see how the gender ratio changes from birth to senior most age group and male to female ratio across each age group for Sheridan.

    Description

    Please download the latest version (Version 3).Spatially explicit population grids can play an important role in climate change, resource management, sustainable development, and other fields. Several gridded datasets already exist, but global data, especially high-resolution data on future populations, are largely lacking. Based on the WorldPop dataset, we present a global gridded population dataset covering 248 countries or areas at 30 arc-seconds (approximately 1 km) spatial resolution with five-year intervals for the period 2020–2100 by implementing random forest (RF) algorithm. Our dataset is quantitatively consistent with the shared socioeconomic pathways (SSPs) national population. The spatially explicit population grid we predicted in this study is validated by comparison with the WorldPop dataset at both the sub-national and grid level. A total of 3,569 provinces (almost all provinces on the globe) and more than 480 thousand grids are verified, and the results show that our dataset can serve as an input for predictive research in various fields.

    Description

    This dataset represents the counts of those individuals who have been determined to have a share of cost (SOC) obligation, which is the monthly amount of medical expenses they must incur before they are eligible to receive Medi-Cal benefits. The dataset includes individuals who have a met or unmet monthly SOC obligation. Individuals who have not met their monthly SOC obligation are not eligible for Medi-Cal. SOC obligations are calculated during the eligibility determination process based on household income.

    Population density per pixel at 100 metre resolution. WorldPop provides estimates of numbers of people residing in each 100x100m grid cell for every low and middle income country. Through ingegrating cencus, survey, satellite and GIS datasets in a flexible machine-learning framework, high resolution maps of population counts and densities for 2000-2020 are produced, along with accompanying metadata. In this dataset:

We present temporally dynamic population distribution data from the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Finland, at the level of 250 m by 250 m statistical grid cells. Three hourly population distribution datasets are provided for regular workdays (Mon – Thu), Saturdays and Sundays. The data are based on aggregated mobile phone data collected by the biggest mobile network operator in Finland. Mobile phone data are assigned to statistical grid cells using an advanced dasymetric interpolation method based on ancillary data about land cover, buildings and a time use survey. The data were validated by comparing population register data from Statistics Finland for night-time hours and a daytime workplace registry. The resulting 24-hour population data can be used to reveal the temporal dynamics of the city and examine population variations relevant to for instance spatial accessibility analyses, crisis management and planning.

Organization of data

The dataset is packaged into a single Zipfile Helsinki_dynpop_matrix.zip which contains following files:

HMA_Dynamic_population_24H_workdays.csv represents the dynamic population for average workday in the study area.

HMA_Dynamic_population_24H_sat.csv represents the dynamic population for average saturday in the study area.

HMA_Dynamic_population_24H_sun.csv represents the dynamic population for average sunday in the study area.

target_zones_grid250m_EPSG3067.geojson represents the statistical grid in ETRS89/ETRS-TM35FIN projection that can be used to visualize the data on a map using e.g. QGIS.

Column names

YKR_ID : a unique identifier for each statistical grid cell (n=13,231). The identifier is compatible with the statistical YKR grid cell data by Statistics Finland and Finnish Environment Institute.

H0, H1 ... H23 : Each field represents the proportional distribution of the total population in the study area between grid cells during a one-hour period. In total, 24 fields are formatted as “Hx”, where x stands for the hour of the day (values ranging from 0-23). For example, H0 stands for the first hour of the day: 00:00 - 00:59. The sum of all cell values for each field equals to 100 (i.e. 100% of total population for each one-hour period)

In order to visualize the data on a map, the result tables can be joined with the target_zones_grid250m_EPSG3067.geojson data. The data can be joined by using the field YKR_ID as a common key between the datasets.
