    Description

The global fresh poultry packaging market is experiencing robust growth, driven by increasing poultry consumption worldwide and a rising preference for convenient, safe, and extended-shelf-life packaging solutions. The market's expansion is fueled by several key factors. Firstly, the burgeoning global population, particularly in developing economies, is creating a significantly higher demand for affordable protein sources, with poultry being a prominent choice. Secondly, advancements in packaging technology, such as Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) and Vacuum Skin Packaging (VSP), are extending the shelf life of fresh poultry, reducing waste and improving food safety. Consumers are increasingly demanding high-quality packaging that maintains product freshness and minimizes spoilage, further driving market growth. The market is segmented by application (poultry slaughterhouses, wholesalers, retailers, and others) and packaging type (MAP, VSP, VTP, and others). Major players like Amcor, DuPont, and Berry Global dominate the market, leveraging their established infrastructure and technological expertise. Regional variations exist, with North America and Europe currently holding significant market shares, but Asia-Pacific is projected to witness the fastest growth due to its rapidly expanding poultry industry and rising disposable incomes. While potential restraints include fluctuating raw material prices and environmental concerns related to packaging waste, the overall market outlook remains positive, with a projected continued expansion throughout the forecast period. The competitive landscape is characterized by both large multinational corporations and smaller specialized packaging companies. Large players benefit from economies of scale and global distribution networks, while smaller companies often focus on niche applications or innovative packaging solutions. Market consolidation through mergers and acquisitions is a potential trend, as larger companies seek to expand their market share and product portfolio. Sustainability is also emerging as a critical factor, with increasing pressure on packaging manufacturers to adopt eco-friendly materials and reduce their environmental footprint. This necessitates the development of biodegradable and compostable packaging options, representing both a challenge and an opportunity for market participants. The continued innovation in packaging technology will remain crucial for attracting consumers and maintaining a competitive edge. Factors such as improved barrier properties, enhanced product presentation, and ease of use are key drivers of product development and market competitiveness. This combination of technological advancements, consumer preferences, and expanding poultry production creates a favorable environment for continued growth in the fresh poultry packaging market.

    Description

The global fresh poultry packaging market is experiencing robust growth, driven by increasing consumer demand for safe, convenient, and extended-shelf-life poultry products. The market, currently valued at approximately $15 billion in 2025, is projected to exhibit a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 5% from 2025 to 2033. This expansion is fueled by several key factors. The rising adoption of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) and vacuum skin packaging (VSP) to enhance product freshness and extend shelf life is a significant driver. Furthermore, the growth of the organized retail sector and the increasing preference for ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook poultry meals are contributing to market expansion. Description

This website contains the mapping sequence of poultry. The ArkDB database system aims to provide a comprehensive public repository for genome mapping data from farmed and other animal species. In doing so, it aims to provide a route in to genomic and other sequence from the initial viewpoint of linkage mapping, RH mapping, physical mapping or - possibly more importantly - QTL mapping data. It's supported, in part, by the USDA-CSREES National Animal Genome Research Program in order to serve the poultry genome mapping community. This system represents a complete rewrite of the original version with the code migrated to java and the underlying database targeted at postgres (although any standards-compliant database engine should suffice). The initial release records details of maps and the markers that they contain. There are alternative entry points that target either a chromosome or a specific mapping analysis as the starting point. Limited relationships between markers are recorded and displayed. As with the previous version, all maps are drawn using data extracted from the database on the fly.

    Description

This dataset forms part of a global livestock mapping project by the Food and Agriculture Organization's Animal Production and Health Division (FAO-AGA). The methodology and sources of data are fully described in a document entitled: "The Gridded Livestock of the World FAO (2007)". In summary, for each country the most recent available sub-national livestock census data and corresponding administrative boundaries have been collected. These are then converted into densities, excluding land unsuitable for livestock (either monogastric or ruminant), to provide the 'observed' data. The data are then disaggregated based on statistical relations with some environmental variables in similar agro-ecological zones to produce the 'predicted' distribution. The predicted data are further manipulated to match national census totals for the year 2000 and the year 2005 according to the FAOSTAT database. The project includes: a global network of data providers on livestock and sub-national boundaries; an Oracle database in which these data are managed and processed; a system for predicting livestock distributions based on environmental data and an interactive web application, the Global Livestock Production and Health Atlas (GLiPHA - http://kids.fao.org/glipha/), through which data are viewed and disseminated. The files are in a raster GRID format, with an ArcGis layer file and an ArcView legend file. Pixel values represent actual densities (per square kilometre). Projection details are given in the metadata. The map should ideally be viewed with the overlay of national boundaries, water bodies and unsuitable land. All of these supplementary data are available in accompanying zip files. These data have been produced by FAO's Animal Production and Health Division in collaboration with ERGO and the TALA research group, University of Oxford, UK.

    Description

The global meat, poultry, and seafood packaging market is experiencing robust growth, projected to reach a market value of $5001 million in 2025. Driven by increasing consumer demand for convenient, safe, and extended-shelf-life food products, this market is expected to maintain a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 6.1% from 2025 to 2033. Key drivers include the rising popularity of ready-to-eat meals, increasing focus on food safety and hygiene standards, and the growing adoption of sustainable packaging solutions. Technological advancements in modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) and vacuum packaging are significantly impacting the market, enhancing product preservation and extending shelf life. The segmentation reveals a strong demand across fresh & frozen, processed, and ready-to-eat products, with Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) and Vacuum packaging leading the type segments. Growth is further fueled by expanding retail channels and the increasing adoption of e-commerce for grocery purchases. Geographic expansion, particularly in developing economies with rising disposable incomes and changing dietary habits, presents significant growth opportunities. However, challenges remain in terms of fluctuating raw material prices and increasing environmental concerns regarding plastic waste, prompting manufacturers to adopt eco-friendly alternatives like biodegradable and compostable packaging. The competitive landscape is characterized by both established multinational corporations and regional players, each striving to innovate and cater to the evolving needs of consumers and the industry. The significant players, including Amcor, Berry Global, Sealed Air, and others, are actively investing in research and development to introduce innovative packaging solutions that meet sustainability requirements and enhance product quality. This competitive market dynamics further fuels innovation and ensures a continuous supply of improved packaging options for the meat, poultry, and seafood sector. While regulatory changes regarding packaging materials may present short-term challenges, the long-term outlook remains positive, driven by continuous market expansion and the evolving needs of the food industry for safe, efficient, and sustainable packaging solutions. This sustained growth trajectory positions the meat, poultry, and seafood packaging market as a significant sector within the broader food and beverage packaging industry.

    Description

The raster dataset consists of a 1000 m score grid for slaughterhouse industry facilities, produced under the scope of FAO’s Hand-in-Hand Initiative, Geographical Information Systems - Multicriteria Decision Analysis for value chain infrastructure location. The analysis is based on livestock production potential using proximity to cities, population density, poverty and density of cattle, goats, sheep or pigs. The score is achieved by processing sub-model outputs that characterize logistical factors: 1. Supply - Feed and livestock distribution. 2. Infrastructure - Transportation network (accessibility) 3. Poverty data. It consists of an arithmetic weighted sum of normalized grids (0 to 100): (”Livestock Density” * 0.35) + ("Railway Accessibility" * 0.25) + (“Major Cities Accessibility” * 0.2) + ("Poverty" * 0.1) + ("Population density" * 0.1)
