    Description

This feature layer provides access to OpenStreetMap (OSM) power line data for Europe, which is updated every 15 minutes with the latest edits. This hosted feature layer view is referencing a hosted feature layer of OSM line (way) data in ArcGIS Online that is updated with minutely diffs from the OSM planet file. This feature layer view includes power line features defined as a query against the hosted feature layer where power is any of 'line', 'minor_line', or 'cable'.In OSM, electrical power features are mapped using the power tag. Power lines are specifically defined as high-voltage lines used for power transmission. There are hundreds of different tag values for power used in the OSM database. In this feature layer, unique symbols are used for major and minor overhead lines as well as underground cables, while lesser used types are grouped in an "other" category.Zoom in to medium scales (e.g. County level or 1:1.1m scale) to see the power line features display. You can click on a feature to get the name of the line (if available). Create New LayerIf you would like to create a more focused version of this power line layer displaying just one or two power line types, you can do that easily! Just add the layer to a map, copy the layer in the content window, add a filter to the new layer (e.g. power is minor_line), rename the layer as appropriate, and save layer. You can also change the layer symbols or popup if you like. Important Note: if you do create a new layer, it should be provided under the same Terms of Use and include the same Credits as this layer. You can copy and paste the Terms of Use and Credits info below in the new Item page as needed.

    Description

This layer contains lines representing major power lines located within Prince William County. This dataset was orginally created during the early 1990's when layers of this type were first being created in Prince William County's GIS system. In the spring of 2017, the Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Virginia Geographic Information Network Division (herein referred to as VGIN) of the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) contracted with Fugro Geospatial, Inc. to provide aerial data acquisition, ground control, aerial triangulation and development of statewide ortho quality DEM and digital orthophotography data. The Virginia Base Mapping Program (VBMP) update project is divided into three collection phases: In 2017, Fugro flew the eastern third of Virginia at one foot resolution, with options for localities and other interested parties to upgrade resolution or purchase other optional products through the state contract. The middle third of Virginia will be flown in 2018 and the western third in 2019. Ortho products are 1-foot resolution statewide with upgrades to 6-inch resolution tiles and 3-inch resolution tiles in various regions within the project area. The Virginia Base Mapping project encompasses the entire land area of the Commonwealth of Virginia over 4 years. The State boundary is buffered by 1000'. Coastal areas of the State bordering the Atlantic Ocean or the Chesapeake Bay are buffered by 1000' or the extent of man-made features extending from shore. This metadata record describes the generation of new Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and contours generated at 2-foot intervals. All products are being delivered in the North American Datum of 1983 (1986), State Plane Virginia North. The vertical datum was the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) using GEOID12B.

    Description

The CEC Transmission Lines geospatial data layer contains electric power lines of transmission and some distribution or sub-transmission voltages covering California. Transmission lines can carry alternating current or direct current with voltages typically ranging from 110 kV to 765 kV. Transmission lines can be overhead and underground; underground transmission lines are more often found in urban areas. Sub-transmission lines generally carry voltages ranging from 33 kV to 100kV. These sub-transmission lines transmit power from higher voltage lines or other bulk power sources to local distribution network substations. An overhead power line can be single or double circuit. A single-circuit transmission line carries conductors for only one circuit. For a three-phase system, this implies that each tower supports three conductors. A double-circuit transmission line has two circuits. For three-phase systems, each tower supports and insulates six conductors. Single phase AC-power lines as used for traction current have four conductors for two circuits. Usually both circuits operate at the same voltage. In HVDC systems typically two conductors are carried per line, but in rare cases only one pole of the system is carried on a set of towers. The detailed descriptions on the structure type, material and circuit can be found at here. If you cannot access to the PDF, you may request us to send you a copy of the PDF.The transmission line, substation and power plant mapping database were started in 1990 by the CEC GIS staffs. The final project was completed in October 2010. The enterprise GIS system on CEC's critical infrastructure database was leaded by GIS Unit in November 2014 and was implemented in May 2016. The data was derived from utility companies and USGS topographic map. Some of the data was rectified from GE and Platts transmission line geospatial data. The sources for the transmission line digitizing are including sub-meter resolution of Digital Globe, Bing, Google, ESRI and NAIP aerial imageries, with scale at least 1:5,000. Occasionally, USGS Topographic map, Google Street View and Bing Bird's Eye are used to verify the precise location of a facility. The data was digitized from pole to pole for greater than or equal to 200 kV transmission lines. For transmission lines less than 200kV, the data was digitized on the pole gaps of approximately 1:5,000 or greater. All the data was digitized based on ground level of where a pole was planted. The transmission line was not digitized with one line segment from substation to substation. GIS Unit will merge the multipart lines into one segment in the future, after consulting with the Strategic Transmission Planning and Corridor Designation Office in identifying electricity flow between substation to substation or power plant to substation. Not all transmission line spatial data ended or started with a substation or power plant point spatial data. However, GIS Unit is current developing power plant and substation boundary spatial data which will enclose most of the transmission lines at both ends.

    Description

2010 Census Block Group polygons (have the same first digit of their four-digit identifiers within a census tract) for all of Pierce County, realigned to Pierce County roads, parcels, hydro, railroads, power lines, etc. Population figures for race, ethnicity, median age, household size, household count, etc were downloaded from the US Census website and joined to this layer. Please read metadata for additional information. Any data download constitutes acceptance of the Terms of Use.Abstract:A census block group (BG) is a cluster of census blocks having the same first digit of their four-digit identifying numbers within a census tract. (See also Census Tract.) For example, block group 3 (BG 3) within a census tract includes all blocks numbered from 3000 to 3999. BGs generally contain between 600 and 3,000 people, with an optimum size of 1,500 people. Most BGs were delineated by local participants as part of the U.S. Census Bureau's Participant Statistical Areas Program. The U.S. Census Bureau delineated BGs only where a local, state, or tribal government declined to participate or where the U.S. Census Bureau could not identify a potential local or tribal participant. The original 2010 census data was downloaded via ftp from Census. The lines were were redrawn with the best available data; such as roads, parcels, hydro, railroads, powerlines. Pierce County requires that the Census layers to be used with county data layers. The population figures were downloaded from the US Census website and joined to this this theme. For more information read 2010 Census Summary File 1 (Issued June 2011). The pdf document is located at: https://www.census.gov/prod/cen2010/doc/sf1.pdfPurpose:The US Census Block Groups are used by variety of departments for analysis, planning, and mapping purposes.DATA LINKED FROM PIERCE COUNTY OPEN DATA PORTALSee the metadata and original layer here

Please read metadata for additional information. Any data download constitutes acceptance of the Terms of Use.Abstract:Census tracts are small, relatively permanent statistical subdivisions of a county delineated by local participants as part of the U.S. Census Bureau's Participant Statistical Areas Program. The U.S. Census Bureau delineated census tracts in situations where no local participant existed or where local or tribal governments declined to participate. The primary purpose of census tracts is to provide a stable set of geographic units for the presentation of decennial census data. This is the first decennial census for which the entire United States is covered by census tracts. For the 1990 census, some counties had census tracts and others had block numbering areas (BNAs). In preparation for Census 2000, all BNAs were replaced by census tracts, which may or may not cover the same areas. The original 2010 census data was downloaded via ftp from Census. The lines were were redrawn with the best available data; such as roads, parcels, hydro, railroads, powerlines. Pierce County requires that the Census layers to be used with county data layers. Description

Powerlines in the western United States and Canada as identified by the 22 source data layers used to compile this shapefile. Source data were collected by personal contact or through the internet in the winter and spring of 2004 and assimilated using ArcGIS. This file is a complete record of overhead powerline data that was available as of 5/15/2004 but IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A COMPLETE REPRESENTATION OF THE SUM TOTAL OF ALL POWERLINES ON THE GROUND. These data primarily depict the higher voltage, long distance transmission lines but some arcs likely represent lower voltage distribution lines.
