U.S. on the lower-end spectrum of worldwide motor fuel prices The U.S. has some of the lowest conventional motor fuel prices in the world. Hong Kong has some of the highest diesel prices in the world. As of May 12, 2025, drivers in Hong Kong paid an average of 3.34 U.S. dollars per liter of automotive diesel. This was more than three times the amount paid by drivers in Mainland China.
