    Description

This dataset provides comprehensive and up-to-date information on futures related to oil, gas, and other fuels. Futures are financial contracts obligating the buyer to purchase and the seller to sell a specified amount of a particular fuel at a predetermined price and future date.

Use Cases: 1. Trend Analysis: Scrutinize patterns and price fluctuations to anticipate future market directions in the energy sector. 2. Academic Research: Delve into the historical behavior of oil and gas prices and understand the influence of global events on these commodities. 3. Trading Strategies: Develop and test trading tactics based on the dynamics of oil, gas, and other fuel futures. 4. Risk Management: Utilize the dataset for hedging and risk management for corporations involved in the extraction, refining, or trading of fuels.

    Description

About the ProjectKAPSARC is analyzing the shifting dynamics of the global gas markets. Global gas markets have turned upside down during the past five years: North America has emerged as a large potential future LNG exporter while gas demand growth has been slowing down as natural gas gets squeezed between coal and renewables. While the coming years will witness the fastest LNG export capacity expansion ever seen, many questions are raised on the next generation of LNG supply, the impact of low oil and gas prices on supply and demand patterns and how pricing and contractual structure may be affected by both the arrival of U.S. LNG on global gas markets and the desire of Asian buyers for cheaper gas.Key PointsIn the past year, global gas prices have dropped significantly, albeit at unequal paces depending on the region. All else being equal, economists would suggest that this should have generated a positive demand response. However, โ€œall elseโ€ was not equal. Prices of other commodities also declined while economic growth forecasts were downgraded. Prices at benchmark points such as the U.K. National Balancing Point (NBP), U.S. Henry Hub (HH) and Japan/Korea Marker (JKM) slumped due to lower oil prices, liquefied natural gas (LNG) oversupply and unseasonal weather. Yet, the prices of natural gas in local currencies have increased in a number of developing countries in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, former Soviet Union (FSU) and Asia. North America experienced demand growth while gas in Europe and Asia faced rising competition from cheaper coal, renewables and, in some instances, nuclear. Gains to European demand were mostly weather related while increases in Africa and Latin America were not significant. For LNG, Europe became the market of last resort as Asian consumption declined. Moreover, an anticipated surge in LNG supply, brought on by several new projects, may lead to a confrontation with Russian or other pipeline gas suppliers to Europe. At the same time, Asian buyers are seeking concessions on pricing and flexibility in their long-term contracts. Looking ahead, natural gas has to prove itself a credible and affordable alternative to coal, notably in Asia, if the world is to reach its climate change targets. The future of the gas industry will also depend on oil prices, evolution of Chinese energy demand and impact of COP21 on national energy policies. Current low prices mean there is likely to be a pause in final investment decisions (FIDs) on LNG projects in the coming years.

    Description

Global Fuel Prices Database provides monthly retail fuel prices of regular gasoline (research octane number, RON, below 95), premium gasoline (RON of 95 or above), diesel, kerosene, LPG for automobiles, bottled LPG, heating oil, and HFO for the period between December 2015 and April 2025. The database relies on publicly available information. For countries that regulate fuel prices, the author manually collected monthly price announcements from the websites or social media of petroleum agencies, ministry of finance, ministry of energy, and statistical offices. In some cases, the data were sourced from local news articles publishing the governmentโ€™s press releases on price adjustments. For countries with deregulated prices that conduct regular fuel price surveys, the author manually collected the published monthly average prices for the country and if available for several major cities in the country.

New York Energy Prices presents retail energy price data. Energy prices are provided by fuel type in nominal dollars per million Btu for the residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation sectors. This section includes a column in the price table displaying gross domestic product (GDP) price deflators for converting nominal (current year) dollars to constant (real) dollars. To convert nominal to constant dollars, divide the nominal energy price by the GDP price deflator for that particular year. Historical petroleum, electricity, coal, and natural gas prices were compiled primarily from the Energy Information Administration. How does your organization use this dataset? Description

Natural gas account for 1/4 of the global demand and roughly 1/3 of the US energy demand. After oil, Natural gas is the most dominate sort of energy. So, being about to improve natural gas demand prediction is extremely valuable.

Therefore, this project aims to predict the demand of Natural Gas in the US by combining a wide range of datasets including the time series of major Natural Gas Prices including US Henry Hub. Data comes from U.S. Energy Information Administration. Need to forecast the price of natural gas based on the historical data.

    Data

Dataset contains Daily prices of Natural gas, starting from January 1997 to current year. Prices are in nominal dollars.

    Description

This data release includes a digitized version of the "Statistics by States, lands, products and years" section of the 1981 edition of the Federal and Indian lands oil and gas production, royalty income, and related statistics publication. These data were published by the Conservation Division of the U.S. Geological Survey, which was tasked with the accounting for Federal lease production and royalties across multiple commodities. That mission was transferred within the Department of the Interior to the Minerals Management Service in 1982 and later to the Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR) in 2011, where the work is still conducted. Prior to this digitization effort, these data covering Federal lease energy production records from 1954-1980, and also a "prior" years catch all, were not known to be available in a digital format. Paper records were scanned from 250 source tables, totaling approximately 39,000 values. Optical character recognition and table parsing were performed using machine learning software. Due to the less-than-ideal quality of the source material, errors were present in all tables at a rate of approximately 5% of the values. Quality control checks were performed by the authors using sub-totals provided in the original data. The data provide production quantity, production value, and royalty value for oil, condensate, natural gas, liquid petroleum gas, carbon dioxide, sulfur, salt, oil lost, gas lost, geothermal energy, hot water, and totals. The following land types are included: all (a total), public, acquired, outer continental shelf, military and miscellaneous, navy petroleum reserve, and Indian. The authors have also provided the production and royalty value records converted to 2024 indexed dollar values based on consumer price index (CPI) inflation data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

    Description

New York Energy Prices presents retail energy price data. Energy prices are provided by fuel type in nominal dollars per specified physical unit for the residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation sectors.
