This dataset shows the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) Food Prices Database presents the cost of these consumed foods for 2003-2004. The information in this database should be of interest to nutrition educators and economists who wish to compare relative prices of different foods as consumed, rather than the purchase price.

Key information about House Prices Growth
Food price inflation is an important metric to inform economic policy but traditional sources of consumer prices are often produced with delay during crises and only at an aggregate level. This may poorly reflect the actual price trends in rural or poverty-stricken areas, where large populations reside in fragile situations. This data set includes food price estimates and is intended to help gain insight in price developments beyond what can be formally measured by traditional methods. The estimates are generated using a machine-learning approach that imputes ongoing subnational price surveys, often with accuracy similar to direct measurement of prices. The data set provides new opportunities to investigate local price dynamics in areas where populations are sensitive to localized price shocks and where traditional data are not available.
A dataset of monthly food price inflation estimates (aggregated for all food products available in the data) is also available for all countries covered by this modeling exercise.
The data cover the following sub-national areas: Anbar, Babil, Baghdad, Basrah, Diyala, Dahuk, Erbil, Ninewa, Kerbala, Kirkuk, Missan, Muthanna, Najaf, Qadissiya, Salah al-Din, Sulaymaniyah, Thi-Qar, Wassit, Market Average

In the U.S. in 2023, the average price of honey was about 252 U.S. cents per pound, decreasing slightly from 2022. The cost of honey since 2010 generally increased and reached its highest in 2017.
Sales and production of honey
Honey is used globally for various reasons, some of the most common and important uses are as a raw sweetener, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. In 2022, it was revealed that conventional grocery stores had the largest honey sales share in the U.S. at over 30 percent, while the other channels stood below 20 percent. The production volume of honey was just over 130 million pounds in 2023; the volume has gradually decreased since 2010 but was highest in 2014.
Honey stocks and production value
The honey stock values have fluctuated across the country over the past few years; however, South Dakota took the first position for the largest honey stocks in the U.S., with approximately 12.5 million pounds. The value of honey production shows positive signs of increasing; despite the value mildly shifting each year, it has grown vastly since 2003, with the value being around 252.05 million U.S. dollars to 2023 where the value is equivalent to about 349.2 million U.S. dollars.

It has long been suspected, given the salience of gasoline prices, that fluctuations in gasoline prices shift households' 1-year inflation expectations. Assessing this view empirically requires the use of dynamic structural models to quantify the cumulative effect of gasoline price shocks on household inflation expectations at each point in time. We find that, on average, gasoline price shocks account for 42% of the variation in these expectations. The cumulative increase in household inflation expectations from early 2009 to early 2013, in particular, is almost entirely explained by unexpectedly rising gasoline prices. However, there is no support for the view that the improved fit of the Phillips curve augmented by household inflation expectations during 2009 2013 is mainly explained by rising gasoline prices.

The North American Cyclopentane market experienced notable fluctuations during the first quarter of 2025, shaped by shifting feedstock costs, demand variability, and evolving geopolitical conditions. In the early part of the quarter, Cyclopentane prices in the U.S. trended downward, primarily due to the declining prices of its key feedstock, Benzene. The reduced feedstock costs translated into lower production expenses, thereby exerting downward pressure on Cyclopentane pricing.
