    Description

A long-term shift in consumer perceptions has underpinned growth as mainstream consumers increasingly accept psychic services. Traditional skepticism about consulting psychics has waned, with more consumers embracing these services, especially in times of uncertainty. The pandemic significantly boosted demand for services as many turned to spiritual guidance to navigate their anxieties about health, finances and the loss of loved ones. This uptick reflects a broader trend towards personalized and spiritual approaches to life's challenges, making psychic services a more mainstream part of many people's lives. Revenue expanded at a CAGR of 4.3% over the years to 2024 to $2.3 billion, including a growth of 0.7% in 2024. Psychics offer expertise in palmistry, cartomancy, mediumship, astrology, aura readings and other metaphysical services. While psychic services have existed for centuries, consumer acceptance has grown over the past few decades. Religious beliefs in the United States have grown increasingly flexible and accepting; according to the Pew Research Center, more than one-quarter of US adults have left the faith they were raised in. Over 15.0% identify themselves as unaffiliated with any particular religion. Agnostic and unaffiliated consumers account for the majority of customers because psychic services conflict with the stringent beliefs of many religions. The digital revolution of recent years has transformed how services are delivered; psychics have capitalized on online platforms, video calls and mobile apps to secure stable profit and reach a broader audience. Through the end of 2029, revenue is expected to continue rising, growing at a CAGR of 1.9% to $2.5 billion. Improving economic conditions will continue to boost industry performance as rising disposable income bolsters average customer spending on psychic services. Health consciousness and the holistic wellness movement will sustain interest in psychic services as consumers seek ways to integrate physical, mental and emotional well-being. The appeal of stress alleviation and spiritual guidance will keep psychic services in demand. Younger generations, especially those under 25, exhibit increasing curiosity about new-age practices. Their familiarity with mobile and online platforms aligns perfectly with the expanding accessibility of psychic services, ensuring a steady influx of young clients.

    Description

This file provides nationally aggregated summary statistics to characterize the daily operations of medium and heavy duty vehicles. It provides typical daily driving distances, domicile dwell durations, and one version of potential normalized electric vehicle depot charging load curves. The methodology to create this data was designed with national representativeness in mind, and the data is suitable for national analysis. The dataset characterizes the subset of medium and heavy duty vehicle operating patterns that may originate from a consistent depot each day (and thus may rely on the same depot for charging if the vehicle were electrified). In addition to trucks with depot-centric vocational patterns, the data also describes operations of transit buses and school buses. A detailed description of this data and associated methodology is available as an NREL technical report, "Depot-based vehicle data for national analysis of medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicle charging" (https://www.nrel.gov/docs/fy24osti/88241.pdf).

    Description

IntroductionMany individuals exhibit compassion towards charismatic animals in distress, yet they are not as motivated to help the thousands of endangered animal species. The foundation of this paradox is psychic numbing, a psychological phenomenon that explains why people are more inclined to donate to help save human lives when presented with accounts of single identifiable victims compared to accounts of mass atrocities like genocide. The impact of psychic numbing on human tragedies has been well documented, but its impact on non-human tragedies, such as the crisis of endangered species conservation, has not been thoroughly assessed.MethodsThis study uses Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) conservation as a case study, examining whether identifiable lives or statistical lives elicit the greatest concern for Peregrine Falcon preservation and increased donations. Participants are randomly presented with one of three messages: (1) The story of Annie, a celebrity falcon residing in the University of California, Berkeley, (2) Statistical data on Peregrine Falcon decline and history, or (3) A combination of Annie’s story and statistical data.ResultsWe did not find a significant difference in donation amount for identifiable versus statistical lives. However, the three different messaging conditions did evoke significant differences in word association tasks about endangered species.DiscussionOur results demonstrate the importance of further research into messaging conditions that will bring about the greatest level of human action for endangered species conservation.

    Description

The lack of quality data has left academia with an unclear picture of what religious life is like in China. Much of what is known comes from government statistics, anecdotal reports from missionaries and religious organizations, or field research. The objective of this study was to design and collect a state of the art random sample of Chinese citizens and assess their religious and spiritual life. A high quality team of Chinese scholars was assembled for the project. The survey was designed in fall 2006. In the spring of 2007, Dr. Anna Sun led a research team to field test the survey in China. In May 2007 the data were collected. The survey was a face-to-face interview. Respondents were selected using a multi-stage method to select metropolitan cities, towns and administrative villages. The final survey was administered in 56 locales throughout China, including 3 municipal cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing), 6 province capital cities (Guangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Hefei, Xi'an and Chengdu). In addition, 11 regional level cities, 16 small towns, and 20 administrative villages were sampled. Within each locale, households were sampled within neighborhoods, and neighborhoods were sampled within administratively defined total neighborhood committees (government defined collections of neighborhoods). A KISH grid procedure was used to randomly select one respondent from each household for a face-to-face in-home interview.

    Description

ABSTRACT Objective: to investigate the factors that are present in the work environment of the nursing team and that contribute to emergence of psychic burden in Psychosocial Care Centers III. Methods: this is a descriptive and qualitative study carried out in three services located in Paraíba State. Data were obtained from an interview with a semi-structured script, and textual content was treated using the software Interface de R pour Analyzes Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionneires. Results: the factors that trigger psychic burden arise primarily from pace of work, precarious physical structure, work with users in mental distress, lack of management support, insufficient multidisciplinary team and lack of clinical supervision. Conclusion: the difficulties faced by nursing professionals in the work environment cause suffering at work and hinder the effectiveness and, consequently, the quality of nursing care.

    Description

The iMHZEV Program offers Canadian organizations (for profit and non-profit), as well as provincial, territorial, municipal and Indigenous governments incentives towards the purchase/lease of eligible medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles (MHZEVs). To encourage Canadian organizations to adopt MHZEVs, the Government of Canada launched the Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles (iMHZEV) Program on July 11, 2022. There are many different makes, models and vehicle classes of eligible zero-emission vehicles for purchase or lease. The iMHZEV Program’s incentives provide up to $200,000 per vehicle to a maximum of ten incentives per calendar year or $1 million in incentives per recipient, per calendar year (whichever is reached first). Only the vehicles listed on the iMHZEV Program's list of eligible vehicles are eligible for an incentive at the point-of-sale when purchased/leased and delivered on or after the vehicle’s respective eligibility date. Program Statistics: The Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-duty Zero-Emission Vehicles (iMHZEV) Program database contains up-to-date information on the number of incentives offered and the total dollar values of these incentives since the start of the iMHZEV Program on July 11, 2022. About the data: You can search for iMHZEV data by: - Province/territory or all of Canada - Province/territory and Postal code of the dealership each vehicle was purchased/leased from - Make and/or model (including vehicle year) - Engine type - A time period, including: * A specific month * Ranges of months (e.g., July 2022 to November 2022) * Calendar year (January 1 to December 31) * The Government of Canada’s fiscal year (April 1 to March 31) The current data provides iMHZEV monthly statistics. Revisions of archived data will be updated quarterly, these revisions are generally minor and are mainly due to approval of incentive requests that were incomplete when first submitted to Transport Canada. Most revisions are typically from the most recent three-month period. If you have any questions, please contact us at IMHZEVProgram-ProgrammeIVMLZE@tc.gc.ca
