PCC Lines are shown by rail line segments. This feature class was built using existing data sources including railroad line track charts, track right-of-way maps, and recently digitized linework based off aerial photos.
The Rail Network is a comprehensive database of United States railway system at 1:24,000 to 1:100,000 scale. This polyline shapefile depicts Amtrak rail lines within all 50 states plus the District of Columbia. This layer is part of the 2014 National Transportation Atlas Database.

Right-of-way lines for WSDOT owned rail lines in Eastern Washington. Due to the different accuracy levels of the source material, the right-of-way feature class is a generalized respresentation of the right-of-way line locations. Do not use this as authoritative right-of-way location.

PCC Lines are shown by major branch lines. This data is used as 1) a linear referencing system (LRS); 2) for locating features on the PCC system by milepost value. PCC lines were built using existing data sources including railroad line track charts, track right-of-way maps, and recently digitized linework based off aeiral photos. In LRS, the locations of both data and events are determined according to their distance along a railroad line from some known point (e.g., the beginning of the line or line segment, a mile marker, a junction with another rail line, or a railroad crossing).

Mileposts at one-mile increments along PCC rail lines for reference purpose. The mileposts are placed as point locations using PCC linear referencing system (LRS).
Comprehensive dataset of 3 Heritage railroads in Washington, United States as of July, 2025. Includes verified contact information (email, phone), geocoded addresses, customer ratings, reviews, business categories, and operational details. Perfect for market research, lead generation, competitive analysis, and business intelligence. Download a complimentary sample to evaluate data quality and completeness.

This is an extract from the State Highway Log that shows Railroad Crossings that are at the same grade as the state route. State Route identifiers and locations based on State Route Mileposts and Accumulated Route Mileage are also included for geographic reference and for use with the Washington State Department of Transportation's 24k and 500k Linear Referencing Systems. Please direct questions about this dataset to: TransportationGISDataSteward@wsdot.wa.gov. Other notes: RRXingGradeInd attribute definition does not include detail about what the code values mean.
The rail lines layer represents the freight lines of the nation's railroad system. The data set covers all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as territories and possessions of the United States. This layer has been trimmed to the Region 9 Area: California, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada as well as New Mexico. This product is an interim deliverable. States currently complete but not visible in this layer include Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming. States not completed include Alaska, California, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. No rail lines exist in American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands of the US.
As of 2021, the Northeast corridor linking Boston with Washington DC was the longest and only highspeed rail line in use in the United States, representing a network of nearly 735 kilometers. Other highspeed rail projects are planned for the following decades, with the Bakersfield-to-Anaheim line planned for construction in 2033. Of these projects, the Denver-to-Albuquerque line is expected to be the longest with 560 kilometers.

These files are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the 1995 TIGER/Line files detailing railroads. This dataset includes railroad tracks, railroad main lines, railroad spurs, railroad yards, railroad ferry crossings, car lines, and cog railroads.
Summary
Rail Crossings is a spatial file maintained by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) for use by States and railroads.
Description
FRA Grade Crossings is a spatial file that originates from the National Highway-Rail Crossing, Inventory Program. The program is to provide information to Federal, State, and local governments, as well as the railroad industry for the improvements of safety at highway-rail crossing.

Data Quality ▼►Scope of quality information ▼►Resource level attribute Scope description Attributes The States and railroads maintain their own file and get updated to the FRA. The information is reported to the FRA on the U.S. DOT-ARR Crossing inventory form.
Attributes The quality of the inventory can vary because a record of grade crossing location is being maintained by each state and railroad that is responsible for maintaining its respective information.
Lineage ▼►Lineage statement The data was downloaded from the HWY-Rail Crossing Inventory Files. All crossings that were closed or abandon were queried out of the data. All of the crossings with a zero within the latitude or longitude were queried out. Any crossing outside a bounding box of box ((Latitude >= 18 & Latitude <= 72) AND (Longitude >= -171 & Longitude <= -63)) were queried out.

The Washington State Freight and Goods Transportation System (FGTS) classifies freight corridors by modes in Washington state based on annual freight tonnage moved, including truck, rail, and waterway freight corridors. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) designates and updates the FGTS every two years. This dataset shows the truck freight corridors classified under FGTS system, including state highways, ferry routes, city streets, and county roads. Two other datasets are also available and published for FGTS system, including Freight and Goods Transportation System of Washington – Rail Corridors, and Freight and Goods Transportation System of Washington – Waterway Corridors.
