These data were needed as input feature variables for a machine learning model to predict public supply water use for the conterminous United States. Census data were retrieved for public-supply water service areas, but the census data collector could be used to retrieve data for other areas of interest. This dataset is part of a larger data release using machine learning to predict public supply water use for 12-digit hydrologic units from 2000-2020. Data retrieved by the census data collector code were used as input features in the public supply delivery and water use machine learning models. This page includes the following file: census_data_collector.zip - a zip file containing the census data collector Python code used to retrieve data from the U.S. Census Bureau and a README file.

TwitterUS Census Bureau conducts American Census Survey 1 and 5 Yr surveys that record various demographics and provide public access through APIs. I have attempted to call the APIs through the python environment using the requests library, Clean, and organize the data in a usable format.
ACS Subject data [2011-2019] was accessed using Python by following the below API Link:
https://api.census.gov/data/2011/acs/acs1?get=group(B08301)&for=county:*
The data was obtained in JSON format by calling the above API, then imported as Python Pandas Dataframe. The 84 variables returned have 21 Estimate values for various metrics, 21 pairs of respective Margin of Error, and respective Annotation values for Estimate and Margin of Error Values. This data was then undergone through various cleaning processes using Python, where excess variables were removed, and the column names were renamed. Web-Scraping was carried out to extract the variables' names and replace the codes in the column names in raw data.
The above step was carried out for multiple ACS/ACS-1 datasets spanning 2011-2019 and then merged into a single Python Pandas Dataframe. The columns were rearranged, and the "NAME" column was split into two columns, namely 'StateName' and 'CountyName.' The counties for which no data was available were also removed from the Dataframe. Once the Dataframe was ready, it was separated into two new dataframes for separating State and County Data and exported into '.csv' format

The USPS ZIP Codes identify the individual post office or metropolitan area delivery station associated with mailing addresses. USPS ZIP Codes are not areal features but a collection of mail delivery routes.

Census Tracts are small, relatively permanent statistical subdivisions of a county or statistically equivalent entity that can be updated by local participants prior to each decennial census as part of the Census Bureau’s Participant Statistical Areas Program (PSAP).
Census tracts generally have a population size between 1,200 and 8,000 people, with an optimum size of 4,000 people. A census tract usually covers a contiguous area; however, the spatial size of census tracts varies widely depending on the density of settlement. Census tract boundaries are delineated with the intention of being maintained over a long time so that statistical comparisons can be made from census to census.
Block Groups:

Boundaries, streets, addresses, structure points, and selected other features are maintained in the Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) database. The Census Bureau collects geographic and address data from tribal, state, and local governments through a Geographic Support System Initiative (GSS-I) Partnership Program and through other geographic programs, such as the annual Boundary and Annexation Survey. When the Census Bureau updates the MAF/TIGER database with new or corrected street, address and structure point data, the boundary network must be updated concurrently to preserve geographic relationships.
Additional sources of data are required to ensure complete coverage of all street centerlines and addresses for the fifty States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas. Some government partners are unable to provide street and address data that meets the Census
Bureau's requirements. Therefore, the Census Bureau is requesting proposals for provision of address data from commercial vendors that can be easily integrated into the MAF/TIGER database.

Abstract:The 50-hectare plot at Barro Colorado Island, Panama, is a 1000 meter by 500 meter rectangle of forest inside of which all woody trees and shrubs with stems at least 1 cm in stem diameter have been censused. Every individual tree in the 50 hectares was permanently numbered with an aluminum tag in 1982, and every individual has been revisited six times since (in 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2010). In each census, every tree was measured, mapped and identified to species. Features provide a view of 2020 Census tracts for the San Francisco Bay Region. Features are a subset of the Census Tracts 500k service at https://data.bayareametro.gov/dataset/Census-Tracts-500K/dg5p-pxcu.
Census tracts are small, relatively permanent statistical subdivisions of a county or equivalent entity, and were defined by local participants as part of the 2020 Census Participant Statistical Areas Program. The Census Bureau delineated the census tracts in situations where no local participant existed or where all the potential participants declined to participate. The primary purpose of census tracts is to provide a stable set of geographic units for the presentation of census data and comparison back to previous decennial censuses.
Census tracts generally have a population size between 1,200 and 8,000 people, with an optimum size of 4,000 people. When first delineated, census tracts were designed to be homogeneous with respect to population characteristics, economic status, and living conditions. The spatial size of census tracts varies widely depending on the density of settlement. Physical changes in street patterns caused by highway construction, new development, and so forth, may require boundary revisions. In addition, census tracts occasionally are split due to population growth, or combined as a result of substantial population decline.
Census tract boundaries generally follow visible and identifiable features. They may follow legal boundaries such as minor civil division or incorporated place boundaries in some States and situations to allow for census tract-to-governmental unit relationships where the governmental boundaries tend to remain unchanged between censuses. State and county boundaries always are census tract boundaries in the standard census geographic hierarchy.
In a few rare instances, a census tract may consist of noncontiguous areas. These noncontiguous areas may occur where the census tracts are coextensive with all or parts of legal entities that are themselves noncontiguous.
For the 2010 Census and beyond, the census tract code range of 9400 through 9499 was enforced for census tracts that include a majority American Indian population according to Census 2000 data and/or their area was primarily covered by federally recognized American Indian reservations and/or off-reservation trust lands; the code range 9800 through 9899 was enforced for those census tracts that contained little or no population and represented a relatively large special land use area such as a National Park, military installation, or a business/industrial park; and the code range 9900 through 9998 was enforced for those census tracts that contained only water area, no land area.
The Census Bureau uses suffixes to help identify census tract changes for comparison purposes. Local participants have an opportunity to review the existing census tracts before each census. If local participants split a census tract, the split parts usually retain the basic number, but receive different suffixes. In a few counties, local participants request major changes to, and renumbering of, the census tracts. Changes to individual census tract boundaries usually do not result in census tract numbering changes.
Relationship to Other Geographic Entities—Within the standard census geographic hierarchy, census tracts never cross state or county boundaries, but may cross the boundaries of county subdivisions, places, urban areas, voting districts, congressional districts, and American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian areas.

PRISM data converted into FIPS, ZIP Code, and census tract summaries in the USA Introduction: Parameter-elevation Regressions on Independent Slopes Model (PRISM) by PRISM Climate group Oregon State temperature, precipitation 4km daily weather variable grids that I have converted to daily county FIPS, ZIP Code, and census tract summaries for use in several papers. Available for download (see Data below) in RDS (compact) format. CSV available on request. In Python it is easy to load RDS files and much more compact files than CSVs too. Note that ZIP Code throughout is actually ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA), which was developed to overcome the difficulties in precisely defining the land area covered by each ZIP Code. Defining the extent of an area is necessary in order to tabulate census data for that area.

Data are based on a sample and are subject to sampling variability. The degree of uncertainty for an estimate arising from sampling variability is represented through the use of a margin of error. The value shown here is the 90 percent margin of error. The margin of error can be interpreted roughly as providing a 90 percent probability that the interval defined by the estimate minus the margin of error and the estimate plus the margin of error (the lower and upper confidence bounds) contains the true value. In addition to sampling variability, the ACS estimates are subject to nonsampling error (for a discussion of nonsampling variability, see ACS Technical Documentation https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/acs/technical-documentation.html). These data were needed as input feature variables for a machine learning model to predict public supply water use for the conterminous United States. Census data were retrieved for public-supply water service areas, but the census data collector could be used to retrieve data for other areas of interest. This dataset is part of a larger data release using machine learning to predict public supply water use for 12-digit hydrologic units from 2000-2020. Data retrieved by the census data collector code were used as input features in the public supply delivery and water use machine learning models.
