    Description

The Precious Metals Production industry's revenue is forecast to expand at a compound annual rate of 21.5% over the five years through 2024-25 to £396.4 million. Soaring precious metal prices mean that smaller companies have been able to operate with only a handful of staff while still making enough money to keep going. However, as gold and silver are used less in film and digital technology, the amount of precious metals recoverable from scrap has fallen, raising purchasing costs and somewhat limiting growth. The Russia-Ukraine conflict disrupted metal supplies and caused inflation to soar, driving investors to precious metals as a traditional inflation hedge and causing the prices of gold and silver to hike by over 20% in 2023-24, while Platinum Group Metals prices inched down due to reduced investor demand. In 2024-25, gold and silver prices are reaching new highs as the perspective of interest rate cuts continues to drive demand from investors (as lower interest rates would mean other investments like bonds would yield lower returns). As a result of this, industry revenue is expected to swell by 15.9% in 2024-25, when industry profit is set to hit 2.7%. The Precious Metals Production industry's revenue is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 4.4% over the five years through 2029-30 to £491.4 million. Silver is a key component in photovoltaic cells used in solar panels, so it's well set to benefit from the increased importance placed on renewable energy generation. However, manufacturers of photovoltaic cells are likely to lower the content of silver per cell to reduce costs, limiting the benefit for silver producers. Increased environmentalism also means that electric vehicles are likely to gain popularity, reducing the need for platinum group metals used in catalytic converters, while surging gold prices are set to normalise in the medium term, limiting revenue growth. A new gold mine in Scotland is likely to run for almost a decade, allowing primary refiners to set up in the UK.

The gold segment is estimated to witness significant growth during the forecast period.

The Indian jewelry market is a dynamic and evolving industry, with gold continuing to dominate its landscape due to cultural preferences and rising income levels. The demand for gold jewelry has seen consistent growth, reaching approximately 22% of the global gold demand in 2020. However, the market is influenced by various factors, including gold prices, which can be affected by inflation, financial regulations, and international trade. The younger generation's jewelry preferences are also shifting, with alternative materials and designs gaining popularity. Gold jewelry remains a significant investment option and is worn on special occasions. The manufacturing process involves various techniques like jewelry casting, cad design, and 3D printing, while ethical sourcing practices and quality control measures ensure transparency and customer trust.

Customer relationship management, sales conversion rates, and consumer behavior patterns are crucial for businesses, with customer service metrics and social media marketing playing essential roles. The supply chain is managed efficiently with inventory management systems and e-commerce platforms. Precious metal alloys undergo gold purity testing, and jewelry is appraised using established methods. Stone setting, jewelry design software, and polishing techniques add value to the final product. The industry's profitability is influenced by return on investment, precious metal recycling, and diamond grading systems. Jewelry repair services and photography are essential for maintaining the product's longevity and appeal.

Search engine optimization and sales strategies are crucial for online marketing success.

    Description

The Level 1C Dayside Disk Images are interrupted via stored instrument commands when target stars suitable for occultation measurements approach either limb. To perform the occultation measurement, the slit mechanism inserts the 1 degree wide occultation (OCC) slit at the spectrometer focal plane, and the scan mirrors slew the Field of View to the star. The mirror is centered at a 225 km tangent point altitude. Occultations require 6 minutes to execute (30 seconds to configure the instrument, 30 seconds for uncertainty in timing and pointing, 4 minutes for the actual occultation, 30 seconds for uncertainty in timing and pointing, and 30 seconds to return to HR slit). Once the occultation is complete, the HR slit is inserted, the scan mirror returns to its departure point in the original mapping observation. By choice GOLD is limited to performing ~10 occultations a day for most of the year, reducing the dayside mapping duty cycle by ~5%.
