NOTE: This is a dynamic data set. Open/closed areas change annually. Multiple factors are involved in determining the open/closed status of an area. Determination of the status of an area should be done using the Scallop Management Map and your local Marine Patrol office. Maine DMR manages scallop fishing in Zone 2 using a rotational management plan. Areas are open or closed to scallop fishing based on a three-cycle rotation; the details of these rotational cycles, as well as the legal descriptions of the rotational area boundaries, are described in Chapter 11 of Maine DMR regulations.
