The dataAtlas, Rurality, Clúster, Affinity Propagation, Geographic Information Systems stored below are associated with the different characteristics of the rural territories of Chile, to agglomerate territories based on domains and indicators, such as: Demographic, Natural Areas, Productive Sector, Geography and Territory, Accessibility, Culture. These data are the result of different processes, the first one associated to the crossing between geospatial variables (geomorphology, climate, land use, among others) with the selection of rural and mixed districts. The second set of data is related to the data dictionary, this information base (Excel) has the necessary indicators to run the clustering model. Third, the data of the 95 clusters established during the AP clustering process. Fourth, the data on the 34 typologies finally established for the rural territory of Chile are presented.

From the site: “The Geologic Atlas of the United States is a set of 227 folios published by the U.S. Geological Survey between 1894 and 1945. Each folio includes both topographic and geologic maps for each quad represented in that folio, as well as description of the basic and economic geology of the area. The Geologic Atlas collection is maintained by the Map & GIS Library. The repository interface with integrated Yahoo! Maps was developed by the Digital Initiatives -- Research & Technology group within the TAMU Libraries using the Manakin interface framework on top of the DSpace digital repository software.
Additional files of each map are available for download for use in GIS or Google Earth. A tutorial is provided which describes how to download theses files.”

During a heavy downpour, the water on the streets can become so high that certain road sections become impassable for passenger cars, or even for emergency traffic such as ambulances, police and fire brigade. This map shows which roads are only passable for emergency traffic or are no longer passable at all after an extreme shower of 100 mm in 2 hours. Only the roads in rural areas have been included in this analysis. Construction Roads are classified as 'passable' (green) if there is a maximum water depth of 10 cm. At water depths between 10 and 30 cm, the roads are classified as 'passable for emergency traffic' (yellow). This means that the road is no longer passable for normal traffic. Provided that driving is done at a walking pace and no bow wave is created, emergency traffic can use the road. In theory, this certainly applies to emergency services vehicles that are higher on the wheels. Roads with water depths of 30 cm and more are 'impassable' (red). The main access routes are shown in bold. The modeling includes the flow over the ground level, as well as the discharge via the sewer system and open water. However, it is possible that the bottlenecks presented are not always recognized (to that extent) in practice. No rights can be derived from the absolute values. The results provide a first indication of the expected impassability of roads in rural areas during extreme precipitation.
