So far in 2021, of all Austrian federal states, Burgenland had the highest share of people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19). After months of research and testing, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the European Commission approved the BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine on December 21, 2020.
Immigrants are traditionally seen as hard to survey. Their number is often too small to be analysed via data gained in general population surveys, and registers to identify them are often missing or incomplete. Therefore, researchers are forced to use alternatives for sampling. In the case of the Austrian Immigrant Survey 2016, an onomastic (name-based) approach was used, establishing a sampling frame in a two-step procedure. This article describes the concept and the implementation of the sampling and evaluates the sample that could be realised.

The Austrian real estate market, exhibiting a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.00% from 2019 to 2024, presents a robust investment opportunity. While precise market size figures for 2025 are unavailable, extrapolation from the historical data and considering typical market fluctuations suggests a market value of approximately €50 billion in 2025. This estimate accounts for potential variations in construction activity, economic growth, and regulatory influences. Key drivers include a growing population, increasing urbanization, and strong investor interest fueled by low interest rates and a relatively stable political environment. However, rising construction costs and material shortages, particularly following global supply chain disruptions, present significant restraints. The market is segmented by property type, primarily into single-family homes and multi-family dwellings. Single-family homes are expected to maintain a significant market share due to sustained demand from individual buyers, while the multi-family sector, driven by apartment rentals and increased housing density in urban areas, shows promising growth potential. Prominent companies like Swietelsky AG, ELK Fertighaus GmbH, and others contribute to the construction and development segments. Regional analysis reveals that major cities like Vienna and Salzburg will likely showcase higher transaction volumes and stronger value appreciation compared to rural areas. The forecast for 2025-2033 projects continued growth, though the pace might slightly moderate due to anticipated interest rate adjustments and potential macroeconomic changes. Despite the challenges, the Austrian real estate market remains attractive for both domestic and international investors. Long-term growth projections remain positive, with continuous development of sustainable and energy-efficient housing expected to shape the market in coming years. The segment focusing on environmentally friendly building materials and technologies is likely to attract significant investment and gain market share. Continued economic stability and government policies supporting the real estate sector are crucial for maintaining this growth trajectory. Recent developments include: January 2023: The residential project is being completed for the Neunkirchen non-profit housing and settlement cooperative by the SWIETELSKY branch office for building construction in Lower Austria and Burgenland as part of the general contractor. On a roughly 4,000-square-meter plot, 38 low-rise residential apartments with subsidies are being developed, along with 75 underground parking spaces., January 2023: The non-profit cooperatives GEDESAG and SCHNERE ZUKUNFT are constructing a total of 40 residential units in the Waldviertel neighborhood thanks to the SWIETELSKY subsidiary. For the non-profit Donau-Ennstalersiedlungs AG, 16 apartments and six semi-detached homes are being constructed in the heart of Gföhl. The 105 square meters of living space in the semi-detached homes at Seilergasse 5 will be split between the ground level, the upper floor, and a basement that is roughly 60 square meters in size. A two-story residential building is situated close by. Living spaces in the 16 units range from 55 to 84 square meters.. Notable trends are: The decrease in Labor Force in Austria is driving the demand of prefabricated houses.
Full edition for scientific use. The Social Survey Austria (SSÖ) is a representative survey of the Austrian population that has been conducted since 1986 by sociologists from the Universities of Graz, Linz, Salzburg, and Vienna in an inter-university research cooperation. The SSÖ 2024 is the eighth survey in which, in addition to an Austria-specific part, country-comparative survey modules of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP) are collected. In the SSÖ 2024, questions from two ISSP modules were asked: the module "Health and Health Care" (2021) and the module "Digital Societies" (2024). In addition, questions were asked about current social challenges in Austria. Thus, the first part of the questionnaire concerns attitudes towards technologies, internet access, digital skills, digital behavior (including communication, media consumption, and political participation), attitudes towards digital surveillance by government and private companies, and attitudes towards chatbots and AI. The final section of the questionnaire covers attitudes towards the healthcare system, health behaviors and well-being, and mental health. The SSÖ 2024 was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and conducted for the second time in a push-to-web design.

The size of the Austria Renewable Energy Market was valued at USD XX Million in 2023 and is projected to reach USD XXX Million by 2032, with an expected CAGR of 12.50">> 12.50% during the forecast period. Renewable energy, often referred to as green energy, is derived from natural sources that are replenished at a rate faster than they are consumed. Unlike fossil fuels, which take millions of years to form and release harmful greenhouse gases when burned, renewable energy sources are abundant and environmentally friendly. The most widely used types of renewable energy include solar power, wind energy, hydropower, geothermal energy, and bioenergy. Solar energy harnesses sunlight using photovoltaic panels or mirrors that concentrate solar radiation. This energy can be used for electricity, heating, cooling, and even fuel production. Wind energy captures the kinetic energy of moving air through wind turbines, which can be installed onshore or offshore. Hydropower generates electricity by using the flow of water in rivers or dams, making it one of the oldest and most reliable forms of renewable energy. Geothermal energy taps into the Earth's internal heat to generate electricity and provide direct heating. This is achieved by extracting heat from geothermal reservoirs using wells or other means. Bioenergy, on the other hand, is produced from organic materials such as plant and animal waste. It can be converted into electricity, heat, or biofuels. Recent developments include: In January 2022, Austrian renewable energy company, Wien Energie GmbH, announced plans to install 28 MW solar capacity in Austria. The project is a part of the company's major goal to deploy around 600 MW by the end of the decade. It also plans to install 20 solar plants on the roofs of public buildings in Vienna by 2025., In 2021, Valmet Oyj, the energy technology provider, entered a contract with Salzburg AG to deliver a complete turnkey biomass CHP plant in Salzburg, Austria. The plant is expected to start operations in 2023, with a power output of 4 MW and 17 MW of heat output.. Key drivers for this market are: 4., Global Inclination toward Renewable-based Power Generation4.; Increased Power Demand in Line with the Increasing Population. Potential restraints include: 4., High Initial Cost. Notable trends are: Wind Segment Expected to Witness Significant Growth.
