    San Bernardino County, California
    Variables measured
Other Race Population, Other Race Population as Percent of Total Population of cities in San Bernardino County, CA, Other Race Population as Percent of Total Other Race Population of San Bernardino County, CA
    Measurement technique
To measure the rank and respective trends, we initially gathered data from the five most recent American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates. We then analyzed and categorized the data for each of the racial categories identified by the U.S. Census Bureau. Based on the required racial category classification, we calculated the rank. For geographies with no population reported for the chosen race, we did not assign a rank and excluded them from the list. It is possible that a small population exists but was not reported or captured due to limitations or variations in Census data collection and reporting. We ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to the identified racial categories and do not rely on any ethnicity classification, unless explicitly required. For further information regarding these estimates, please feel free to reach out to us via email at research@neilsberg.com.

To measure the rank and respective trends, we initially gathered data from the five most recent American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates. We then analyzed and categorized the data for each of the origins / ancestries identified by the U.S. Census Bureau. It is possible that a small population exists but was not reported or captured due to limitations or variations in Census data collection and reporting. We ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to the identified origins / ancestries and do not rely on any ethnicity classification, unless explicitly required. Description

This layer contains the 2020 Tax Rate Areas (TRA) for San Bernardino County. It was published from data provided by the California State Board of Equalization. Each TRA is a unique combination of taxing jurisdictions (revenue districts). A list of districts within a TRA is available by request. It was updated on March 12, 2021 to correct a topological overlap between TRAs 057075 and 057004.What is a Tax Rate Area?A tax rate area (TRA) is a geographic area within the jurisdiction of a unique combination of revenue districts, which includes local agencies (such as a city, county, or special district) and school districts, for the current fiscal year. Each TRA is assigned a six-digit numeric identifier, referred to as a TRA number. What is the purpose of a Tax Rate Area?TRAs are primarily used by county assessors and county auditors for the allocation, collection and distribution of property tax revenue in the state. TRAs can be used to determine voter residency of special revenue districts and the residency qualifications for persons to hold elected office of the governing board. School district boundaries and city boundaries can also be determined by TRA. Although TRAs can be used to determine general boundaries, they are intended for assessment purposes only and do not represent the official boundaries of any district or agency. The Tax Rate Area dataset is typically made available from the California State Board of Equalization starting in May of each year and can be requested by email.

    Description

This study focused on the effect of economic resources and racial/ethnic composition on the change in crime rates from 1970-2004 in United States cities in metropolitan areas that experienced a large growth in population after World War II. A total of 352 cities in the following United States metropolitan areas were selected for this study: Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Orange County, Orlando, Phoenix, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Silicon Valley (Santa Clara), and Tampa/St. Petersburg. Selection was based on the fact that these areas developed during a similar time period and followed comparable development trajectories. In particular, these 14 areas, known as the "boomburbs" for their dramatic, post-World War II population growth, all faced issues relating to the rapid growth of tract-style housing and the subsequent development of low density, urban sprawls. The study combined place-level data obtained from the United States Census with crime data from the Uniform Crime Reports for five categories of Type I crimes: aggravated assaults, robberies, murders, burglaries, and motor vehicle thefts. The dataset contains a total of 247 variables pertaining to crime, economic resources, and race/ethnic composition.
