Land Use Zoning Districts in San Jose, CA.
This layer was created as an update the existing San Jose Parks Layer (PRK.PARKS). The existing layer has been maintained by the City of San Jose Department of Public Works and had not been updated in some time. This layer is a draft as of (05.02.2014) and has not been fully reviewed to assure complete accuracy of boundaries. Nevertheless it is an improvement over the existing layer and has had park boundaries adjusted to reflect PRNS management authority to the curb and gutter. This layer is also primarily based upon satellite imagery and visible property lines with the Santa Clara County parcel layer used as a guide in certain circumstances where boundaries could not be identified. The PRK.PARKS layer on the other hand , appeared to be based upon the Santa Clara Parcel layer, which did not include sidewalk and curb areas of the parks. In addition many parcel maps features included sections of roadway or overlapped into neighboring properties when compared with the aerial. Park chains have yet to be reviewed and revised. It is our intent to adjust these features to show only secured or quasi-government lands in which development in unlikely to occur. In addition, park chain lands may be adjusted to reflect underpasses where trails and public access is permitted.

The pavement condition index, or PCI, is a number between 0 and 100 that is used to indicate the condition of the pavement on a segment of street, where a score of 0-49 is considered poor, 50-69 is fair, and 70-100 is good. This map was created for the City of San José public maps gallery. The maps gallery is a collection of maps created and maintained by the Enterprise GIS team. Maps gallery maps showcase programs, projects, and spatial information derived from City data. The information in these maps is publicly shared for the purpose of transparency and accessibility. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are a group of legacy pollutants formerly used in commercial and industrial processes, with peak use between 1950 and 1980. "Old Industrial" indicates that an area's land use was Industrial prior to 1980 and has not yet been redeveloped. Regional monitoring data demonstrate higher loads of PCBs in stormwater runoff from Old Industrial areas, compared with other land uses types. In order to reduce PCBs runoff to the Bay, the City will investigate and treat Old Industrial areas, on a parcel-by-parcel basis. Investigation occurs through sample collection and lab testing, as well as desktop analysis. Treatment to control or abate PCBs runoff may include redevelopment, full trash capture device installation, enhanced street sweeping, and implementation of BMPs or cleanup on confirmed source properties. This layer shows the current investigation and treatment status for each Old Industrial parcel in San Jose. Data updated annually.

This dataset contains information about the flood hazards within the Flood Risk Project area. These zones are used by FEMA to designate the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) and for insurance rating purposes. These data are the regulatory flood zones designated by FEMA. The spatial elements representing the flood zones are polygons. The entire area of the jurisdiction(s) mapped by the FIRM should have a corresponding flood zone polygon. There is one polygon for each contiguous flood zone designated. See pages 45- 47 in the FIRM Database Technical Reference document for Flood Zone and Zone Subtype Cross-Walk.

This digital map database, compiled from previously published and unpublished data, and new mapping by the authors, represents the general distribution of bedrock and surficial deposits in the mapped area. Together with the accompanying text file (scvmf.ps, scvmf.pdf, scvmf.txt), it provides current information on the geologic structure and stratigraphy of the area covered. The database delineates map units that are identified by general age and lithology following the stratigraphic nomenclature of the U.S. Geological Survey. The scale of the source maps limits the spatial resolution (scale) of the database to 1:24,000 or smaller.

Field work done 1999. Map includes two cross sections and 42 geologic units. The quadrangle includes part of the Highland range, Eldorado Valley, and Piute Valley. It contains excellent exposures of early to middle Miocene volcanic and sedimentary rocks, the upper part of the ~16.6 Ma Searchlight. Mining district. The Miocene section rests nonconformably on Early Proterozoic gneiss. As a result of the middle Miocene extension, Tertiary strata are moderately to steeply tilted and cut by complex arrays of normal faults. Flat-lying Quaternary alluvial-fan deposits dominate Eldorado and Piute Valleys and onlap tilted Miocene strata in the Highland Range. The GIS work was in support of the U.S. Geological Survey COGEOMAP program.
