The Existing Land Use (EXLU) dataset represents land use in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. This dataset was created by Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) in support of the Sun Cloud project. This dataset is intended to serve as a land use inventory for a variety of planning purposes including socioeconomic forecasting and transportation modeling. Because of the level of generalization involved in creating this dataset, land use boundaries may not be accurate representations of ground conditions if used at small scales.

This dataset consists of a shapefile representing 50 foot contour intervals for Santa Cruz County, Arizona. Datasets are also available for 100', 250', and 500' intervals. Each file covers an Arizona county or part of a county and as a collection covers the entire state. The data were created by processing hillshade TIF files derived from the U.S. Geological Survey National Elevation Dataset. The processing produced ESRI formatted coverages for each county or part of a county. The U.S. Geological Survey has developed a National Elevation Dataset (NED). The NED is a seamless mosaic of best-available elevation data. The 7.5-minute elevation data for the conterminous United States are the primary initial source data. In addition to the availability of complete 7.5-minute data, efficient processing methods were developed to filter production artifacts in the existing data, convert to the NAD83 datum, edge-match, and fill slivers of missing data at quadrangle seams. One of the effects of the NED processing steps is a much-improved base of elevation data for calculating slope and hydrologic derivatives. The specifications for the NED 1 arc second and 1/3 arc second data are - Geographic coordinate system, Horizontal datum of NAD83, except for AK which is NAD27, Vertical datum of NAVD88, except for AK which is NAVD29, Z units of meters.

Plan submitted by: WBeard on 11/7/2021 USER DESCRIPTION: Applies the comments from Mayor Romero of Tucson regarding placing Tucson within the SW Arizona District #7. Balances this by including areas of SE Pima County and Santa Cruz to maintain communities of interest and balance population. Maintains competitiveness and VRA compliance. USER PLAN OBJECTIVE: Corrects approved CD map to comply with the requests of Mayor Romero regarding the City of Tucson be included with D7. Uses River Rd and Pantano Creek as northern and eastern boundaries of D7. Balances population by adding communities of interest in SE Pima County (Green Valley/Corona de Tucson/Sahurita) and northern/eastern Santa Cruz County. Places David Monthan AFB inside D6 to comply with request of the military. Maintains communities of interest and VRA compliance. Also maintains competitiveness.

Plan submitted by: AZ71@22 on 11/13/2021 USER DESCRIPTION: This LD map focuses on compromise in Southern AZ. It creates regional communities of interest in contiguous districts based on feedback from the public meetings. USER PLAN OBJECTIVE: PLEASE LOOK AT THIS MAP. This LD map is about compromise in Southern AZ.
MEHL: He gets his wish to keep Marana, Oro Valley, Saddlebrook I & II and Red Rock in Pinal County together in one D17 district.
LERNER: She successfully separates Tanque Verde and Houghton Corridor from NW Tucson to add to the D18 district of Tucson.
PUBLIC COMMENTS: The people of Santa Cruz County keep their county in one district and the communities of Green Valley, Quail Creek and Sahuarita are added entirely to D21 and remain consolidated along with Amado, Tubac & Tumacacori.
ADDITIONAL BENEFIT: The growing region of D16 in the central AZ region of the I-8/I-10 split becomes very competitive in this map version with Maricopa, Casa Grande, Arizona City staying as one entity since those cities have their own growth objective separate from Tucson and Phx.
Thank you. I really feel this map addresses everyone's issues fairly with near perfect population distribution, contiguous districts, supports communities of interest, and makes logical compromises the public is asking for.
Plan submitted by: AZ71@22 on 11/10/2021 USER DESCRIPTION: This updated Legislative map fully includes some native reservations that were previously divided into separate districts. It also realigns D19 to be more contiguous. Makes D17 more competitive and proper. This map vastly improves southern AZ. USER PLAN OBJECTIVE: This Legislative District Map is an upgraded version from the previous edition. The former had native reservation overlap. This version has every native reservation fully in its own district. It keeps the Navajo Nation and smaller tribes together in D6. Gila in D16 and Tohono O'odam fully in D23 including its San Xavier Mission. Yavapai Nation-Salt River near Phoenix is part of D7 for full representation. This map solves the gerrymandered D17 issue in Tucson region and is now nearly a 50/50% competitive district. Santa Cruz County and River Valley is essentially its own district now. All 30 districts in the state are now evenly distributed with population and 15 districts leaning D and 15 leaning R.
Plan submitted by: redistrictadmin on 12/9/2021 USER DESCRIPTION: This LD Test Map is based off of LD Test Map Version 11.3. It takes Casa Adobes into district 7, district 18 shifts east, and Santa Cruz county is unified in district 21. The East Valley is redrawn in districts 9, 12, 13, 14 and is based off of the Reconciled East Valley Legislative Plan. The Yuma gold split was done with district 28.
