The iZone is the NYC Department of Education's initiative to strategically develop and scale innovative 21st century school and classroom models that increase student achievement. The iZone consists of a dedicated community of schools that design and build the learning experience around the needs, motivations and strengths of each student in order to prepare them for success in college and career. PLS was a Personalized Learning Systems pilot undertaken in elementaryschools where schools had access to adaptive learning software such as Time to Know, CompassLearning Odyssey and Pearson SuccessMaker, web-based programs that assist teachers in managing and differentiating instruction in ELA and Math.

Some 36 percent of moms with children entering K-12 in the United States in the fall of 2019 planned to completely follow the school-provided shopping list when buying school supplies. In contrast, 7 percent of them planned to not use the list at all.

The Residential School Locations Dataset [IRS_Locations.csv] contains the locations (latitude and longitude) of Residential Schools and student hostels operated by the federal government in Canada. All the residential schools and hostels that are listed in the Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement are included in this dataset, as well as several Industrial schools and residential schools that were not part of the IRRSA. This version of the dataset doesn’t include the five schools under the Newfoundland and Labrador Residential Schools Settlement Agreement. The original school location data was created by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and was provided to the researcher (Rosa Orlandini) by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation in April 2017. The dataset was created by Rosa Orlandini, and builds upon and enhances the previous work of the Truth and Reconcilation Commission, Morgan Hite (creator of the Atlas of Indian Residential Schools in Canada that was produced for the Tk'emlups First Nation and Justice for Day Scholar's Initiative, and Stephanie Pyne (project lead for the Residential Schools Interactive Map). Each individual school location in this dataset is attributed either to RSIM, Morgan Hite, NCTR or Rosa Orlandini. Many schools/hostels had several locations throughout the history of the institution. If the school/hostel moved from its’ original location to another property, then the school is considered to have two unique locations in this dataset,the original location and the new location. For example, Lejac Indian Residential School had two locations while it was operating, Stuart Lake and Fraser Lake. If a new school building was constructed on the same property as the original school building, it isn't considered to be a new location, as is the case of Girouard Indian Residential School.When the precise location is known, the coordinates of the main building are provided, and when the precise location of the building isn’t known, an approximate location is provided. For each residential school institution location, the following information is provided: official names, alternative name, dates of operation, religious affiliation, latitude and longitude coordinates, community location, Indigenous community name, contributor (of the location coordinates), school/institution photo (when available), location point precision, type of school (hostel or residential school) and list of references used to determine the location of the main buildings or sites.

This Public Schools feature dataset is composed of all Public elementary and secondary education facilities in the United States as defined by the Common Core of Data (CCD, https://nces.ed.gov/ccd/ ), National Center for Education Statistics (NCES, https://nces.ed.gov ), US Department of Education for the 2017-2018 school year. This includes all Kindergarten through 12th grade schools as tracked by the Common Core of Data. Included in this dataset are military schools in US territories and referenced in the city field with an APO or FPO address. DOD schools represented in the NCES data that are outside of the United States or US territories have been omitted. This feature class contains all MEDS/MEDS+ as approved by NGA. Complete field and attribute information is available in the ”Entities and Attributes” metadata section. Geographical coverage is depicted in the thumbnail above and detailed in the Place Keyword section of the metadata. This release includes the addition of 3065 new records, modifications to the spatial location and/or attribution of 99,287 records, and removal of 2996 records not present in the NCES CCD data.

This dataset contains basic and contact details for all Post Primary schools for 2016. Geographic information such as geo-codes, longitude and latitude along with the appropriate Eircode is also documented.

The Federal School Code List contains the unique codes assigned by the Department of Education for schools participating in the Title IV federal student aid programs. Students can enter these codes on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to indicate which postsecondary schools they want to receive their financial application results. The Federal School Code List is a searchable document in Excel format. The list will be updated on the first of February, May, August, and November of each calendar year.

Abstract

The Master List of Schools is a record of all schools in South Africa. The data forms part of the national Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) database used to inform education policymakers and managers in the Department of Basic Education (DBE) and the Provincial education departments, as well as to provide valuable information to external stakeholders. The list is maintained by provincial departments and regularly sent to DBE for updating. A key function of the master list is to uniquely identify each school in the country through a school identifier called the EMIS number. Additionally, the list contains data on school quintiles - categories (quintiles) based on the socioeconomic status of the community in which the school is situated. Analyses comparing schools' performance often use school quintiles as control measures for socioeconomic status, to take into account the effect of, for example, poor infrastructure, shortage of materials and deprived home backgrounds on school performance. There are also other basic data fields in the school master list that could provide the means to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about learner enrolment, teachers and learner-teacher ratio of schools. It is a useful dataset for education planners and researchers and is even widely used in the private sector by those who regularly deal with schools.

Data from the SNAP survey and ANA that are used to compile the Master List of Schools is collected with a survey questionnaire and educator forms. The principle completes the survey questionnaire and each educator (both state paid and other) in each school completes an educator form. Schools record their EMIS number provided by the DBE on the questionnaire and form for identification.

This Private Schools feature dataset is composed of private elementary and secondary education facilities in the United States as defined by the Private School Survey (PSS, https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/pss/), National Center for Education Statistics (NCES, https://nces.ed.gov), US Department of Education for the 2017-2018 school year. This includes all prekindergarten through 12th grade schools as tracked by the PSS. This feature class contains all MEDS/MEDS+ as approved by NGA. This feature class contains all MEDS/MEDS+ as approved by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Homeland Security Infrastructure Program (HSIP) Team. The primary purpose of this project is to provide a listing of all local agencies providing free public elementary and secondary education in the United States and its outlying areas (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands) for 1980-1981. It permits the educational community to draw statistically valid samples from which state or national estimates can be made and also provides a mailing list of school systems. Significant variables include name, address, county, grade span, size of system, number of schools, and standard metropolitan statistical area (SMSA) designation.
