    King County Assessor data has been summarized to the tax parcel identification number (PIN) and City of Seattle spatial overlay data has been assigned through geographic overlay processes. This data is updated periodically and is used to support the analytical and reporting functions of the City of Seattle long-range and policy planning office.

    The table includes attribute data from the King County Assessor as well as spatial overlay data for various City of Seattle reporting geographies. These geographic attributes are assigned as "majority rules" by land area in cases where multiple geographies span a single tax parcel.

    KCA tax parcels are created by King County for property tax assessment and collection and may not match development sites as defined by the City of Seattle (single buildings may span multiple tax parcels), may be stacked on top of each other to represent undivided interest and vertical parcels, or may be made up of several sites that are not contiguous. Every effort is made to accurately summarize key tax parcel attributes to a single PIN.

    Area-wide modeled near-surface temperature for 3-4 pm on July 27, 2020, based on temperature and humidity data collected for a one-day heat mapping project conducted by King County, Seattle Public Utilities, and the City of Seattle. Data collected on July 27, 2020 in partnership with project volunteers and CAPA Strategies. Data analysis and maps produced by CAPA strategies. This predictive temperature model was created from multi-band land cover rasters from Sentinel-2 satellite and raw heat data from sensor SD cards using the 70:30 holdout method.Heat maps also available for 6-7 am and 7-8 pm. Results can be viewed using this ArcGIS web app viewer. More information on the project available in Heat Watch Report for Seattle & King County.     Data Processing Notes:
    • Boundaries come from the US Census TIGER geodatabases, specifically, the National Sub-State Geography Database (named tlgdb(year)a_us_substategeo.gdb). Boundaries are updated at the same time as the data updates (annually), and the boundary vintage appropriately matches the data vintage as specified by the Census. These are Census boundaries with water and/or coastlines erased for cartographic and mapping purposes.     Description

    This part of USGS Data Series 935 (Cochrane, 2014) presents bathymetry and topography data for the Offshore of Seattle, California, map area, a part of the Southern Salish Sea Habitat Map Series. The data for this map area are a combination of topography extracted from a pre-existing Digital Elevation Model (DEM) merged with bathymetry data that were collected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) using multibeam sonar systems. The merged data are available for download in a single zip file (BathyTopo_OffshoreSeattle.zip).

    Description

    The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is providing offense report data captured in it's Records Management System (RMS) from 2020 to present. KCSO replaced its RMS in late 2018 and at the same time transitioned to the FBI’s National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). The NIBRS standardization of crime classifications allows for comparison over time and between agencies.     Disclaimer: Only finalized (supervisor approved) reports are released. Those in draft, awaiting supervisor approval, or completed after the daily update of data, will not appear until the subsequent day(s). Data updates once every twenty-four hours. Records and classification changes will occur as a report makes its way through the approval and investigative process, thus reports might appear in the data set one day, but be removed the next day if there is a change in the approval status. This mirrors the fluidity of an investigation. Once a report is re-approved, it will show back up in the data set. Other than approval status, the report case status is factored into what can be released in the daily data set. As soon as a report case status matches the criteria for release, it will be included in the data set. For a list of offenses that are included in the data set, please see the attached pdf.

    Description

    Table from the American Community Survey (ACS) S1810 disability characteristics by age. These are multiple, nonoverlapping vintages of the 5-year ACS estimates of population and housing attributes starting in 2015 shown by the corresponding census tract vintage. Also includes the most recent release annually.

    King County, Washington census tracts with nonoverlapping vintages of the 5-year American Community Survey (ACS) estimates starting in 2010. Vintage identified in the "ACS Vintage" field.

    The census tract boundaries match the vintage of the ACS data (currently 2010 and 2020) so please note the geographic changes between the decades.

    Tracts have been coded as being within the City of Seattle as well as assigned to neighborhood groups called "Community Reporting Areas". These areas were created after the 2000 census to provide geographically consistent neighborhoods through time for reporting U.S. Census Bureau data. This is not an attempt to identify neighborhood boundaries as defined by neighborhoods themselves.

    Data Note from the Census:
    Data are based on a sample and are subject to sampling variability. The degree of uncertainty for an estimate arising from sampling variability is represented through the use of a margin of error. The value shown here is the 90 percent margin of error. The margin of error can be interpreted as providing a 90 percent probability that the interval defined by the estimate minus the margin of error and the estimate plus the margin of error (the lower and upper confidence bounds) contains the true value. In addition to sampling variability, the ACS estimates are subject to nonsampling error (for a discussion of nonsampling variability, see Accuracy of the Data). The effect of nonsampling error is not represented in these tables.

    • Boundaries come from the US Census TIGER geodatabases, specifically, the National Sub-State Geography Database (named tlgdb(year)a_us_substategeo.gdb). For a detailed description of the data included please see the 2020 Census State Redistricting Data Summary File. Important note: The Census Bureau advises analysts to aggregate blocks together to form larger geographic units before using the 2020 Census data. Background: The Bureau used a new tool, called Differential Privacy, to inject statistical noise into the 2020 Census data in order to protect privacy. The resulting noise can cause substantial inaccuracy at the block level; combining data for blocks and other small geographies reduces the inaccuracy. PLEASE NOTE: If choosing the Download option of "Spreadsheet" the field PIN is reformatted to a number - you will need to format it as a 10 character text string with leading zeros to join this data with data from King County.King County Assessor data has been summarized to the tax parcel identification number (PIN) and City of Seattle spatial overlay data has been assigned through geographic overlay processes. This data is updated periodically and is used to support the analytical and reporting functions of the City of Seattle long-range and policy planning office.The table includes attribute data from the King County Assessor as well as spatial overlay data for various City of Seattle reporting geographies. These geographic attributes are assigned as "majority rules" by land area in cases where multiple geographies span a single tax parcel.KCA tax parcels are created by King County for property tax assessment and collection and may not match development sites as defined by the City of Seattle (single buildings may span multiple tax parcels), may be stacked on top of each other to represent undivided interest and vertical parcels, or may be made up of several sites that are not contiguous. Every effort is made to accurately summarize key tax parcel attributes to a single PIN. Attributes include parcel centroid locations in latitude/longitude and Washington State Plane X,Y. To get polygon representation of the data please see King County's open data page for parcels and join this table through the PIN field. Please be aware that the King County Assessor site address is not a postal address and may not match other address sources for the same property such as postal, utility billing, and permitting.See the detailed data dictionary for more information.
