In 2022, about 194,164 perpetrators of child abuse in the United States were white. In that same year, about 83,314 perpetrators of child abuse were Hispanic, and 25,092 were of unknown ethnic origin.

In the year ended June 2023, European victims accounted for around 31 percent of victim-reported sexual assault crimes in New Zealand. The number of victim-reported crimes has trended slightly upwards over the past few years, with females in the 15 to 19 age category reporting the highest number of offenses.

The National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) Series, previously called the National Crime Surveys (NCS), has been collecting data on personal and household victimization through an ongoing survey of a nationally-representative sample of residential addresses since 1973. The NCVS was designed with four primary objectives: (1) to develop detailed information about the victims and consequences of crime, (2) to estimate the number and types of crimes not reported to the police, (3) to provide uniform measures of selected types of crimes, and (4) to permit comparisons over time and types of areas. The survey categorizes crimes as "personal" or "property." Personal crimes include rape and sexual attack, robbery, aggravated and simple assault, and purse-snatching/pocket-picking, while property crimes include burglary, theft, motor vehicle theft, and vandalism. Each respondent is asked a series of screen questions designed to determine whether she or he was victimized during the six-month period preceding the first day of the month of the interview. A "household respondent" is also asked to report on crimes against the household as a whole (e.g., burglary, motor vehicle theft). The data include type of crime, month, time, and location of the crime, relationship between victim and offender, characteristics of the offender, self-protective actions taken by the victim during the incident and results of those actions, consequences of the victimization, type of property lost, whether the crime was reported to police and reasons for reporting or not reporting, and offender use of weapons, drugs, and alcohol. Basic demographic information such as age, race, gender, and income is also collected, to enable analysis of crime by various subpopulations. This version of the NCVS, referred to as the collection year, contains records from interviews conducted in the 12 months of the given year.

This dataset contains demographic information on offenders alleged to commit violent and property crimes reported to the Anderson Police Department in Anderson, CA. The data includes information on the sex, race, and gender of offenders. It covers violent crimes such as assault and robbery, as well as property crimes such as burglary and theft. Charges are listed by the CJIS IBR Offense Codes, not by statute.

In 2023, there were 14,327 murder offenders in the United States who were male, in comparison to 1,898 who were female. However, there were also 5,279 murder offenders where their gender was unknown. Justifiable homicides, or cases where a felon is killed by an officer in the line of duty or a felon is killed during a felony by a private citizen, are not included in murder counts by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The total number of murders varies from state to state in the U.S., with more populous states having higher numbers of murders. Murder offenders and victims Most murder offenders in the United States are between the ages of 17 and 39, with the number of offenders declining steadily after age 40. Additionally, the highest rate of death by homicide was found among males between the ages of 15 and 24. The highest rate of death by homicide for females was for girls under the age of one.

In 2023/24 there were 188,893 sexual offences recorded by the police in England and Wales, a decrease when compared with the previous reporting year. Between 2002/03 and 2012/13 the number of sexual offences remained quite stable, but from 2013/14 onwards the number of sexual offences has risen dramatically.

The number of rape and sexual assault cases reported to the police in Germany peaked at 12,186 in 2023 during the period shown here. Previously, the highest number of cases, 11,896, had been recorded the year before. Increased crime clearance rate The question remains how high the number of unreported cases is. Reasons for not reporting a sexual assault vary among victims. In recent years, the German police reported increasing clearance rates for sexual crimes. In 2022, 83.7 percent of rape and sexual assault cases were solved, compared to 78.6 percent in 2016. In 2023, however this figure dropped to 83.4 percent, perhaps due to the increase in the number of cases. Among males suspected of committing such crimes,over 75 percent were young adults aged 18 to 21 years. Types of German police forces German police forces are divided into several different types, which all have clearly established tasks regulated by law. The Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt, BKA) is often compared to the FBI in the U.S. and investigates federal crimes, such as kidnapping. The Federal Police (Bundespolizei), works in railway stations, at airports, and seaports. They also protect borders, government buildings, and deal with organized crime and terrorism. The criminal police (Kriminalpolizei, Kripo), the only policemen not wearing in uniform in Germany, handle assault, murder, and rape cases, as well as theft. The uniformed police (Schutzpolizei, SchuPo), or beat police, are regularly visible in streets, as they are responsible for traffic safety, among other tasks, and may be approached directly by people in need of assistance or help.

In the 2023/24 reporting year there were 3.1 sexual offences per 1,000 population in England and Wales, with Cleveland police force reporting the highest rate of 4.4 sexual crimes per 1,000 people.

In 2022, the child abuse rate for children of Hispanic origin was at 7, indicating 7 out of every 1,000 Hispanic children in the United States suffered from some sort of abuse. This rate was highest among American Indian or Alaska Native children, with 14.3 children out of every 1,000 experiencing some form of abuse. It is most common among children between two to five years of age. While child abuse cases are fairly evenly distributed between girls and boys, more boys than girls are victims of abuse resulting in death. The most common type of maltreatment is neglect, followed by physical abuse. Risk factors Child abuse is often reported by teachers, law enforcement officers, or social service providers. In the large majority of cases, the perpetrators of abuse were a parent of the victim. Risk factors, such as teen pregnancy, violent crime, and poverty that are associated with abuse and neglect have been found to be quite high in the United States in comparison to other countries.

In 2023, Texas had the highest number of forcible rape cases in the United States, with 15,097 reported rapes. Delaware had the lowest number of reported forcible rape cases at 194. Number vs. rate It is perhaps unsurprising that Texas and California reported the highest number of rapes, as these states have the highest population of states in the U.S. When looking at the rape rate, or the number of rapes per 100,000 of the population, a very different picture is painted: Alaska was the state with the highest rape rate in the country in 2023, with California ranking as 30th in the nation. The prevalence of rape Rape and sexual assault are notorious for being underreported crimes, which means that the prevalence of sex crimes is likely much higher than what is reported. Additionally, more than a third of women worry about being sexually assaulted, and most sexual assaults are perpetrated by someone the victim knew.

In 2023, the rate of sexual assaults in South Korea was 75.4 crimes per 100 thousand people. It was an increase compared to the previous year.

Increase in sex crimes in South Korea Sexual assault refers to a range of physical and psychological violations that occur without the explicit consent of the victim, which includes serious offenses such as rape and attempted rape, as well as various forms of indecent acts carried out through coercion. In recent years, South Korea has witnessed a spike in these crimes, despite the country scoring relatively high on the order and security index within the Asia-Pacific region. This increase is particularly alarming with regard to molka, a term referring to illegal secret filming, commonly involving hidden cameras used to capture non-consensual images and videos of individuals in private settings. Government policies and law enforcement The issue of sexual violence resonates deeply within South Korean society, with a significant number of women identifying it as one of the most critical social challenges. Despite this acknowledgment, the legal framework surrounding sexual offenses remains comparatively lenient by international standards. Many sex offenders receive punishments that do not adequately reflect the severity of their crimes. A recent survey found that nearly 70 percent of South Koreans expressed dissatisfaction with the government's crime prevention policies.

In 2023, there were 355 incidents of hate crimes against transgender people in the United States. The most common form of gender or sexuality related hate crimes were anti-gay (male) hate crimes, with 1,037 incidents in that year.

In the United States, significantly more women than men are sexually assaulted. In 2023, about 376,038 women were raped or sexually assaulted in the U.S. - a decrease from the previous year. In comparison, 104,979 men were raped or sexually assaulted in 2023, which was an increase compared to the year before.

In 2022, 780 cases of sexual offences were registered in Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands. Of these, 300 were cases of sexual assault, 270 were cases of rape and 90 were cases of indecency. In comparison, 660 cases of sexual offences were registered in the previous year, approximately 110 less than in the most recent period.

As of 2023, the African country with the highest rate of sexual violnce was Botswana. It had 131.7 cases out of 100,000 inhabitants. The second highest rate was South Africa. It is important to note that these statistics relfect reported crime however, not all crime is reported.
