This manipulative is a 3D version of fraction strips. Each strip is a rectangular piece that will slide onto one of the three vertical pegs so that the fraction strips can stack vertically (rather than lining up horizontally) and represent the value of a fraction in terms of height. The fractions are mounted on one platform with the 1 (whole) always visible so that the student can begin to grasp how all the fractional parts are related to the whole. Each fraction strip is labeled with its fraction name, but only on one side so that they can be made either visible to or hidden from students as they problem solve. Students should be able to understand a fraction as a number on the number line and represent fraction using the fraction strip.

This dataset is associated with the publication: “A flexible systems analysis pipeline for elucidating key spatial relationships in the tumor microenvironment linked with cellular phenotypes and patient outcome.” It contains single-cell data generated through multiplexed immunofluorescence imaging of tumors from NSCLC patients treated at the University of Virginia between 2014 and 2018. Following staining and imaging, cells were segmented and phenotyped using HALO software in collaboration with the Molecular Immunology and Translational Sciences (MITS) Core Facility at UVA. The resulting data, exported as CSV files, includes cell-level phenotypic information and was analyzed using a custom neighborhood profiling algorithm. For methodological details, see Hanson et al. (2025) and Wessel et al. (2024).

The Kerf of Sound This dissertation explores "kerf"—the width of material removed by a saw blade—as a conceptual framework linking material-driven experiences in instrument making to philosophical questions of absence and presence. The text extends kerf beyond a physical consequence of woodcraft towards a suggestive, destructive parameter that connects dual creative research: "composing instruments" made from wood and wire, and composing "Tinnitus Music" in response to hearing impairment. This repository contains media files for the dissertation, which, can be viewed in the order as they appear in the dissertation: Modos de Transporte: Bois de Rose (mp4), created by Daniel Fishkin & Catalina Alvarez A Long Sparse Weeping (wav), created by Daniel Fishkin & Aaron Dilloway Your Ol’ Toolbox Smells Good (wav) created by Daniel Fishkin & Aaron Dilloway Off-Frequency Listening in Subjects (wav) composed by Daniel Fishkin Excitation Patterns (wav) composed by Daniel Fishkin Composing the Tinnitus Suites: 2020 (wav and mp4) composed by Daniel Fishkin Deer Tick… and the Kerf of Sound (mp4) created by Daniel Fishkin & Peter Blasser Full credits for each media item are in the metadata for each respective item as well as in the full text of the appendix of the dissertation.
This line shapefile represents the major rivers within the world at 1:15,000,000 scale. This layer is part of the 2014 ESRI Data and Maps collection for ArcGIS 10.2.World Rivers provides a base map layer of major rivers of the world.
U.S. ZIP Code Areas represents five-digit ZIP Code areas used by the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail more effectively. The first digit of a five-digit ZIP Code divides the country into 10 large groups of states numbered from 0 in the Northeast to 9 in the far West. Within these areas, each state is divided into an average of 10 smaller geographical areas, identified by the 2nd and 3rd digits. These digits, in conjunction with the first digit, represent a sectional center facility or a mail processing facility area. The 4th and 5th digits identify a post office, station, branch or local delivery area.Read More
This polygon shapefile represents the Department Boundary for the Yvelines department of France for 2010. These are the level 2 administrative divisions (ADM2) of Yvelines. Department is one of the three levels of government below the national level ("territorial collectivities"), between the region and the commune. There are 96 departments in metropolitan France and 5 overseas departments, which also are classified as regions. Departments are further subdivided into 342 arrondissements, themselves divided into cantons; the latter two have no autonomy and are used for the organisation of public services and sometimes elections. This dataset is intended for researchers, students, and policy makers for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for basic applications such as viewing, querying, and map output production, or to provide a basemap to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data.Read More
