    Description
    Map Cache Web Service provides rasterised topographic maps in a seamless mosaic view covering NSW. This service generally contains the current standard Topographic maps from the 1:100,000; 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 series.

    Where coverage exists at multiple scales, the largest scale map is displayed.

    The sourced Geotiff file is cropped to the map window only, with no legend, disclaimers, map grid, scale bar or north arrow displayed. The NSW Topographic Map series is derived from Spatial Services’ Digital Topographic Database (DTDB).

    Information viewed in this web service includes:
    • Roads
    • Points of interest
    • Localities
    • Contours
    • Drainage
    • Cultural data
    • Parks and forests
    • Property boundaries.

    This web service allows users to easily integrate the topographic map cache coverage for NSW into Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant spatial platforms and applications.

    The NSW Topographic Map Cache web service can be used for mapping, emergency services, natural resource management, geosciences and sustainable development.

    This service ensures users are able to consume topographic map data without the requirement of hosting the map files on their own servers. It is important to note that depictions of roads and tracks do not necessarily indicate a public right of way.

    Unlawful entry upon private land or a restricted area and/or wilful damage of property such as gates and fences expose offenders to legal prosecution.

This product is used on a whole of government basis as a visible record of the landscape at a given point in time.

    This web service allows users to easily integrate the Imagery coverage for NSW into Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant spatial platforms and applications.

    Description

    The U.S. Geological Survey has conducted geologic mapping to characterize the sea floor offshore of Massachusetts. The mapping was carried out using a Simrad Subsea EM 1000 Multibeam Echo Sounder on the Frederick G. Creed on four cruises conducted between 1994 and 1998. The mapping was conducted in cooperation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and with support from the Canadian Hydrographic Service and the University of New Brunswick. The long-term goal of this mapping effort is to produce high-resolution geologic maps and a Geographic Information System (GIS) project that presents images and grids of bathymetry, shaded relief bathymetry, and backscatter intensity data from these surveys that will serve the needs of research, management and the public.

    Description

    Vegetation maps and descriptions of plant associations were compiled for 16 (15) barrier and marsh islands on the seaward margin of the Delmarva Peninsula (USA) based on 1:20,000 scale false-color infrared aerial photography taken on June 4, 1974 and subsequent extensive ground-truthing. Twenty-six mapping units based on botanical, topographic, and edaphic characteristics representative of distinct plant associations, ecotones, or non-vegetated surfaces were identified. Published maps were later digitized and georeferenced for use with GIS systems. Chimney Pole Marsh, for which only the inlet-facing shoreline was originally mapped, rather than the whole island, was never digitized and is not included in this dataset.

    This map is one of 18 produced for the final open-file report: An Investigation of Potential Geothermal Energy Sources in Mississippi, DoE Contract No. EG-77-S-05-5361; Edwin E. Luper, Principal Investigator; Mississippi Geological, Economic and Topographical Survey; Jackson, Mississippi; 1978. Maps produced include areas of central and southern Mississippi, including all or portions of Adams, Amite, Attala, Calhoun, Carroll, Claiborne, Clarke, Copiah, Covington, Forrest, Franklin, George, Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lamar, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Leake, Leflore, Lincoln, Madison, Marion, Newton, Pearl River, Perry, Pike, Rankin, Scott, Sharkey, Simpson, Smith, Stone, Sunflower, Walthall, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Wilkinson, and Yazoo Counties. Each map is contoured along a single isothermal surface: Maps 1-A through 1-E: 158F (70C) Maps 2-A through 2-E: 212F (100C) Maps 3-A through 3-E: 248F (120C) Map 4: 302F (150C) Map 5: 356F (180C) Finally, a location map of the 401F (205C) isotherm well is labeled Map 6. Maps 1, 2 and 3 were constructed at approximate scale of 1:250,000. These were broken into 5 sections each. The remaining maps were constructed at approximate scale of 1:500,000. These maps were contoured manually by the staff of the MGS in 1978. Many of the reference marks appear to be incorrectly drawn, so a best-fit methodology was used on the scanned maps to attempt to place them in their appropriate relative location in georeferencing.

    Description

    The survey contains 144 maps that cover the declination zone -5 to +82 degrees from the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) 1400-MHz survey. The observations were made during 1983 April 2-21, and in October 1983, with the rebuilt four-feed receiver on the NRAO 91-m transit telescope in Green Bank. Its resolution is 12.7x11.1 arcmin. These maps with a pixel size of 2x2arcmin contain 3000 sources per sr stronger than 0.15 Jy, which is six times the rms noise. They are available in the Flexible Image Transport System (FITS) standard (in the "maps" subdirectory) and can be studied with standard Astronomical Image Processing System (AIPS) display and analysis programs. Description
Map Cache Web Service provides rasterised topographic maps in a seamless mosaic view covering NSW. This service generally contains the current standard Topographic maps from the 1:100,000; 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 series.

Where coverage exists at multiple scales, the largest scale map is displayed.

The sourced Geotiff file is cropped to the map window only, with no legend, disclaimers, map grid, scale bar or north arrow displayed. The NSW Topographic Map series is derived from Spatial Services’ Digital Topographic Database (DTDB).

Information viewed in this web service includes:
• Roads
• Points of interest
• Localities
• Contours
• Drainage
• Cultural data
• Parks and forests
• Property boundaries.

This web service allows users to easily integrate the topographic map cache coverage for NSW into Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant spatial platforms and applications.

The NSW Topographic Map Cache web service can be used for mapping, emergency services, natural resource management, geosciences and sustainable development.

This service ensures users are able to consume topographic map data without the requirement of hosting the map files on their own servers. It is important to note that depictions of roads and tracks do not necessarily indicate a public right of way.

Unlawful entry upon private land or a restricted area and/or wilful damage of property such as gates and fences expose offenders to legal prosecution.
