This data set contains maps of surface weather observations over the western two-thirds of the US and southern Canada. The latest observation at the time the plot was generated was utilized, so the plots contain a mix of standard hourly and special observations. The maps were generated by NCAR/EOL. This data set contains imagery from the two PLOWS field phases, 27 January to 30 March 2009 and 14 October 2009 to 10 March 2010. No imagery are available for the period between the field phases.

The USGS National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) service from The National Map is a comprehensive set of digital spatial data that encodes information about naturally occurring and constructed bodies of surface water (lakes, ponds, and reservoirs), paths through which water flows (canals, ditches, streams, and rivers), and related entities such as point features (springs, wells, stream gages, and dams). The information encoded about these features includes classification and other characteristics, delineation, geographic name, position and related measures, a "reach code" through which other information can be related to the NHD, and the direction of water flow. The network of reach codes delineating water and transported material flow allows users to trace movement in upstream and downstream directions. In addition to this geographic information, the dataset contains metadata that supports the exchange of future updates and improvements to the data. The NHD is available nationwide in two seamless datasets, one based on 1:24,000 (or larger) scale and referred to as high resolution NHD, and the other based on 1:100,000 scale and referred to as medium resolution NHD. The NHD from The National Map supports many applications, such as making maps, geocoding observations, flow modeling, data maintenance, and stewardship. The NHD is commonly combined with other data themes, such as boundaries, elevation, structures, and transportation, to produce general reference base maps. A collection of small-scale non-series maps which offer whole-country coverage of the United Kingdom 1856-2013. Included in the collection are geological, tectonic, structural, mineral resource and geophysical maps, together with a small number of historical facsimile maps. Key geological maps included in the collection which ran to many editions are Geology of the British Islands 1:584 000 and the Geological Map of Great Britain 1:625 000. These maps are hard-copy paper records stored in the National Geoscience Data Centre (NGDC) and are delivered as digital scans through the BGS website.

This map layer includes Global Map data showing the counties and equivalent entities of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. States and the national extent may be derived from the information included in the map layer. The data are a modified version of the National Atlas of the United States 1:1,000,000-Scale County Boundaries of the United States; that data set was created by extracting county polygon features from the CENSUS 2006 TIGER/Line files produced by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Atlas of Canada Small-scale Reference Maps are a collection of digital and print-ready 8.5” x 11” sized maps of Canada’s provinces and territories. It also includes a collection of maps of the continents and the World. Each map is available in three formats – colour, black and white, and black and white without names. The maps are suited for the general public and for educators to use in their classrooms wherever geography or environmental sciences are taught.
