The Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Grid - Line is linework derived from the master coverage of the PLSS maintained by the Assessor's Office. This dataset only contains linework and attribute information for townships, ranges, sections, quarter sections and quarter quarter sections and government lot lines. It is compiled from recorded surveys and plats, coordinates and linework supplied by private surveyors, Snohomish County Public Works Survey, cities, Washington State Department Of Natural Resources (DNR) and the United States Department of the Interior - Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Standard BLM methods are used to construct the aliquot grid. In coastal areas, the aliquot grid may not apply for many of the coastal sections, it has been constructed for the purposes of land title and defining map extents for automated routines.
The Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Grid - Polygon are polygons derived from the master coverage of the PLSS maintained by the Assessor's Office. This dataset only contains polygon information. It contains polygons mostly at a quarter quarter section resolution except in certain non-urban areas where a lower full section resolution or hybrid is used. Data DictionaryPageIndex_Poly represents the bounds of the Snohomish County Assessor’s tax Parcel Maps and is used as the index layer in Esri’s Data Driven Pages tool to automate Parcel Map generation. PageIndex_Poly is maintained as part of the County’s Integrated Land Records database and is based on the Public Land Survey System representing Sections and Quarter Sections. It is derived from the PLSS_Poly dataset and regenerated every few years to keep up with increasing tax parcel density. At the time of generation, Section Maps are converted into Quarter Section Maps when the unstacked (flattened) tax parcel count is greater than or equal to 150 per section.

Data DictionaryThe Allparcels data set is a thematic layer depicting past, present and future tax year real property parcel boundaries within Snohomish County, Washington based on the legal descriptions contained in the assessment roll. Parcels in this data set are defined as real property entities that can be valued for the purpose of collecting taxes. Parcels include, but are not limited to land, buildings on leased land, mobile homes and condominium units. Parcels may overlap. Parcels such as condominium units and mobile homes that may occupy a single polygon are represented as non-planar features (regions) of the same geographic extent. The Parcels data set does not depict legal ownership boundaries nor does it represent legal building lots. Snohomish County does not maintain parcels for the complete geographic coverage of the county. There is no parcel fabric in much of the eastern mountainous area. This data set is not designed to be used in connection with tabular attribute files. Its sole purpose is for historical tracking of changes in the parcel geometry. For current parcel geometry and tabular attributes, see the Parcels data set.

These data represent the spatial distribution of the Snohomish County Shoreline Management Program - Shoreline Environmental Designations as adopted by Snohomish County Council Amended Ordinance 19-020 on July 3, 2019. These designations and the accompanying Shoreline Management Program were approved by the Washington State Department of Ecology and became effective October 14, 2019.The Snohomish County Planning and Development Services (PDS) Department updated the footprint of this spatial dataset in October 2022. No updates were made to shoreline designations, other than to expand, shrink, or maintain the 2019 mapped designations based on updated flood hazard area polygons.
Active project and permitting records from the PDS permitting database are joined to cadastral parcels. Of the plethora of all possible permit types, these data are generalized in the following groupings: Construction vs. Decision, Commercial vs. Residential, and Land Disturbing Activity (LDA). Examples may include, though not limited to, per se Construction permits indicate building permits for structures. Decisions may indicate Land Use permitted for Plats and Rezones. LDA permits are required for new or replaced impervious areas greater than 2,000 square feet (s.f.), clearing/grading greater than 7,000 s.f., more than 100 cubic yards in volume, activity in critical areas, and other criteria. Status is classified as "In Review" and/or "Under Construction", depending on the query of all the permits relating to the parcel_id number. This geo-dataset is dedicated to the map viewer of the same name (https://www.snohomishcountywa.gov/3820/PDS-Active-Projects-and-Permits).
Open water features, both natural and anthropic, for King County and portions of adjacent counties. Features can be displayed as water or non water to distinguished between water and land. FEAT_TYPE item defines multiple classes of features, primarily lakes/ponds and streams rivers. Puget Sound and significant double-banked streams and rivers are shown, plus a limited number of manmade features such as aqueducts, ditches, channels and flumes. Areal open water features are mainly differentiated as either Lakes/Ponds or Impoundments roughly defined as natural and anthropic, respectively. This layer includes wetlands only to the extent that the open water portion of emergent wetlands is mapped. A value in the STATUS item indicates whether the water feature is associated with a wetland, dependent on best available ancillary data and orthoimagery. The name of features, where available, is included. By using the SUBSET item the layer can be defined to show only the larger water bodies and rivers.
