This polygon shapefile depicts boundaries of parcels over which the County of Solano, California held authority in 2012. A Parcel is a piece of real property under a defined ownership, or it can be a lot in a subdivision. County governments administer and legislate through the creation of and maintenance of land records that are associated with a parcel of land. Thus the Parcel is often the vital administrative unit of local government. Parcel maps must meet the requirements of the General Plan and all applicable laws and ordinances. This shapefile contains tax rate area (TRA) boundaries in Solano County for the specified assessment roll year. Boundary alignment is based on the 2023 county parcel map. A tax rate area (TRA) is a geographic area within the jurisdiction of a unique combination of cities, schools, and revenue districts that utilize the regular city or county assessment roll, per Government Code 54900.
