    The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2017-2021 5-Year Estimates. To measure the two variables, namely (a) population and (b) population as a percentage of the total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the racial categories idetified by the US Census Bureau. It is ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to the identified racial categories, and do not rely on any ethnicity classification.     About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the population of Upper Southampton township by race. It includes the population of Upper Southampton township across racial categories (excluding ethnicity) as identified by the Census Bureau. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Upper Southampton township across relevant racial categories.

To portray the median household income within each racial category idetified by the US Census Bureau, we conducted an initial analysis and categorization of the data from 2013 to 2023. Subsequently, we adjusted these figures for inflation using the Consumer Price Index retroactive series via current methods (R-CPI-U-RS). It is important to note that the median household income estimates exclusively represent the identified racial categories and do not incorporate any ethnicity classifications. Households are categorized, and median incomes are reported based on the self-identified race of the head of the household.     The dataset presents the median household incomes over the past decade across various racial categories identified by the U.S. Census Bureau in Southampton township. It portrays the median household income of the head of household across racial categories (excluding ethnicity) as identified by the Census Bureau.     • White: In Southampton township, the median household income for the households where the householder is White decreased by $6,337(10.84%), between 2013 and 2023. The median household income, in 2023 inflation-adjusted dollars, was $58,480 in 2013 and $52,143 in 2023.
