    Description

    The territorial delimitation of the census sections establishes the scope of this statistical unit inferior to the municipality that is the basis of the update of the Register of Inhabitants. Every municipality is divided into one or more census sections and there is no part of the municipality that does not belong to a census section. Sections of a municipality are grouped into one or more census districts and each section belongs to a census district. The update of the Register of Inhabitants is carried out with reference to January 1 of each year and may have different units to the Electoral Census Section, due to the process of independent management of said works. There is usually a difference with the Censal Sections of the General Census, since normally the reference date is also different.
