Flood hazard mapping is an important part of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), as it is the basis of the NFIP regulations and flood insurance requirements. FEMA maintains and updates data through Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and risk assessments. FIRMs include statistical information such as data for river flow, storm tides, hydrologic/hydraulic analyses and rainfall and topographic surveys. FEMA uses the best available technical data to create the flood hazard maps that outline your community’s flood risk areas.

This dataset contains polygons representing zoning classifications (districts) for all of the unincorporated land in St. Johns County. The zoning layer is used by various county departments to assist in the review of future developments, and the regulation/enforcement of land development codes for St. Johns County, Florida. The zoning layer is accessed by all St. Johns County departments for viewing, analysis, and map production. It is also viewable by the public through various online applications.

FEMA, as the administrator of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), has created Advisory Base Flood Elevations (ABFEs) and storm erosion areas for the United States Virgin Islands (USVI). The ABFE information, storm erosion data, and related layers depicted on this web service for the USVI can serve as a guide to understanding current flood and erosion hazard conditions that communities should build to in order to reduce impacts of similar events in the future.
