    Description

This dataset shows the percentage of women who received eight or more antenatal care (ANC) visits during their most recent pregnancy. The World Health Organization recommends a minimum of eight contacts to ensure timely detection of complications, provide essential health education, and support maternal and foetal wellbeing. This indicator reflects both access to and quality of antenatal services, as well as system capacity to deliver continued care. Data are sourced from StatCompiler, which compiles harmonised national indicators from Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) for global comparison and monitoring. This is one of many datasets featured on the Midwives’ Data Hub, a digital platform designed to strengthen midwifery and advocate for better maternal and newborn health services.

    Description

This dataset presents the percentage of women of reproductive age whose demand for family planning is satisfied through the use of modern contraceptive methods. This includes women who want to delay or avoid pregnancy and are using methods such as pills, injectables, implants, IUDs, or sterilisation. This indicator reflects both access to and uptake of voluntary, rights-based family planning services. It is key to understanding gaps in reproductive health access and autonomy. Data are sourced from StatCompiler, which provides harmonised national estimates from Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS). This is one of many datasets featured on the Midwives’ Data Hub, a digital platform designed to strengthen midwifery and advocate for better maternal and newborn health services.
