Valentine’s Day is a big deal in the United States. In 2024, planned Valentine’s Day spending was expected to reach almost 26 billion U.S. dollars, with jewelry and an evening out being some of the preferred gifts or experiences to give. Traditional brick-and-mortar stores remain popular for purchasing presents; however, more and more customers are turning to online channels to do so. According to a survey conducted in 2021, nearly 40 percent of male respondents were planning to purchase their gifts through Amazon. In that same survey, roughly two-thirds of male consumers in the country intended to buy Valentine’s presents while about six in ten women were planning to do the same.
