During the first half of 2024, there were a total of 18,737 data requests for X (formerly Twittter) account information from governments with 3,329 of these were requested by the United States government. A further 2,726 were requested by the Japanese government, while 7,872 were requested by the European Union. Overall, 52.82 percent of these requests resulted in data being disclosed to the relevant authorities.

Gen X Statistics: Considered the generation in-between generations, it stands poised in 2024, with people from Generation X being in their prime, aged between 44 and 59, while managing peak career years, family duties, and retirement planning. Typically referred to as the Sandwich Generation, Gen Xers are both caring for ageing parents and dependent kids. This generation, often ignored in consideration with Baby Boomers and Millennials, holds an ultra-important position in the workforce, economy, and technology adoption. This article examines the latest Gen X statistics to piece together in 2024.

The new version of these data is in GPM-like format (consistent with the GPM Dual-frequency Radar data format), and can be found under the name GPM_3PR. This product consists of monthly statistics of the PR measurements at both a low (5 degrees x 5 degrees) and a high (0.5 degrees x 0.5 degrees) horizontal resolution. The low resolution grids are in the Planetary Grid 1 structure and include 1) mean and standard deviation of the rain rate, reflectivity, path-integrated attenuation (PIA), storm height, Xi, bright band height and the NUBF (Non-Uniform Beam Filling) correction; 2) rain fractions; 3) histograms of the storm height, bright-band height, snow-ice layer, reflectivity, rain rate, path-attenuation and NUBF correction; 4) correlation coefficients. The high resolution grids are in the Planetary Grid 2 structure and contain mean rain rate along with standard deviation and rain fractions.

The Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS) series was designed to provide comprehensive information on various aspects of postsecondary education in the United States and its territories (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands) and Department of Defense schools outside the United States. The HEGIS Financial Statistics component for 1975 sought financial data from institutions of higher education. Data are available for both public and private two-year and four-year institutions. Variables include current funds revenues by source, current funds expenditures by function, physical plant assets, land and building assets, equipment assets, indebtedness on physical plant, endowment assets, and changes in fund balances.
During the first half of 2024, X recieved a total of 72,703 removal requests from governments. Overall, 46,648 of these were requested by the Japanese government, while 9,364 were requested by the Turkish government. Additionally, over 70 percent of requests resulted in data being disclosed to the relevant government entity.

Suppose we observe a random vector X from some distribution in a known family with unknown parameters. We ask the following question: when is it possible to split X into two pieces f(X) and g(X) such that neither part is sufficient to reconstruct X by itself, but both together can recover X fully, and their joint distribution is tractable? One common solution to this problem when multiple samples of X are observed is data splitting, but Rasines and Young offers an alternative approach that uses additive Gaussian noise—this enables post-selection inference in finite samples for Gaussian distributed data and asymptotically when errors are non-Gaussian. In this article, we offer a more general methodology for achieving such a split in finite samples by borrowing ideas from Bayesian inference to yield a (frequentist) solution that can be viewed as a continuous analog of data splitting. We call our method data fission, as an alternative to data splitting, data carving and p-value masking. We exemplify the method on several prototypical applications, such as post-selection inference for trend filtering and other regression problems, and effect size estimation after interactive multiple testing. Supplementary materials for this article are available online.
