This is a monthly report on publicly funded community services for children, young people and adults using data from the Community Services Data Set (CSDS) reported in England for November 2020. The CSDS is a patient-level dataset and has been developed to help achieve better outcomes for children, young people and adults. It provides data that will be used to commission services in a way that improves health, reduces inequalities, and supports service improvement and clinical quality. These services can include NHS Trusts, health centres, schools, mental health trusts, and local authorities. The data collected in CSDS includes personal and demographic information, diagnoses including long-term conditions and disabilities and care events plus screening activities. These statistics are classified as experimental and should be used with caution. Experimental statistics are new official statistics undergoing evaluation. They are published in order to involve users and stakeholders in their development and as a means to build in quality at an early stage. More information about experimental statistics can be found on the UK Statistics Authority website. We hope this information is helpful and would be grateful if you could spare a couple of minutes to complete a short customer satisfaction survey. Please use the survey in the related links to provide us with any feedback or suggestions for improving the report.
During a survey conducted in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States in September 2021, approximately 46 percent of responding adults said they either stood neutral or disagreed with the idea of paying more for a great customer experience (CX). Around 37 percent of the interviewees agreed with the statement, while 17 percent stated they strongly agreed with it. About seven out of ten consumers said their interactions with companies met their expectations.
Historically, the year of publication was included in the report title in line with past naming conventions. From 2025 onwards, report titles will instead reference the data year they cover, rather than the year they are published.
Following on from the announcement made on 12 December 2024, to ensure consistency, the titles of previous publications have been updated to reflect this new approach.
Due to this, as of April 2025, the “Transport and environment statistics: 2021” report has been renamed to “Transport and environment statistics: 2021 (2019 data)”.
Statistics on a range of transport and environment topics including greenhouse gases and pollutants emitted by transport. Includes experimental statistics comparing the environmental impact of various journeys in the UK by different modes of transport and electric vehicle charging infrastructure by local authority.

Following user feedback, DfT are trialling publishing estimates of cargo group alongside the quarterly Port Freight Statistics, in a proposed third quarterly table PORT0503. This has been published containing current quarter data for the second time.
This new data is regarded as Experimental Statistics, awaiting user feedback and further quality assurance to provide timely estimates. You can provide feedback about this change by filling in this https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/user-research-quarterly-cargo-breakdown/" class="govuk-link">form. We continue to welcome any feedback on any aspect of the port freight statistics (see contact details).
Total freight tonnage increased by 6% to 110.9 million tonnes. To note, we are now comparing to the second quarter affected by the UK lockdown so increases can be interpreted as a return to more normal levels. (see timeline below).
Detailed final annual statistics for 2021 will be published in summer 2022.

This report on NHS-funded maternity services in England for October 2021, uses data submitted to the Maternity Services Data Set (MSDS). The MSDS has been developed to help achieve better outcomes of care for mothers, babies and children.
The MSDS is a patient-level ‘secondary uses’ data set that re-uses clinical and operational data for purposes other than direct patient care, such as commissioning and clinical audit. It captures key information at each stage of the maternity service care pathway in NHS-funded maternity services, such as those provided by GP practices and hospitals. The data collected include mother’s demographics, booking appointments, admissions and re-admissions, screening tests, labour and delivery along with baby’s demographics, diagnoses and screening tests.
For each publication, the following analysis files are published within the zip file ‘Additional experimental analysis using MSDS data’ for the relevant month due to low data quality and completeness: •Delivery method by previous births •Delivery method by Robson group •Smoking status at delivery (for births one month earlier) •Postpartum haemorrhage and other maternal critical incidents (for births one month earlier) •Antenatal pathway level •Births without intervention.
Each zip file also includes a spreadsheet bringing together counts relating to 11 of the 14 Clinical Quality Improvement Metrics that form part of NHS England’s Maternity Transformation Programme.
These statistics are classified as experimental and should be used with caution. Experimental statistics are new official statistics undergoing evaluation. More information about experimental statistics can be found on the UK Statistics Authority website.
Important note for users
Data collection for domestic road freight statistics moved from a paper to online survey midway through 2021. An investigation of the data has concluded that the paper data, pre July to September 2021 (quarter 3), and online data, July to September 2021 (quarter 3) onwards, should not be compared.
A detailed explanation of the methodology change and the impact on the data can be found within the methodology note.

The table contains 15,120 counts.AbstractThe census collected information on the usually resident population of Northern Ireland on Census Day (21 March 2021).Initial contact letters or questionnaire packs were delivered to every household and communal establishment, and residents were asked to complete online or return the questionnaire with information as correct on Census Day.Special arrangements were made to enumerate special groups such as students, members of the Travellers Community, HM Forces personnel etc.The Census Coverage Survey (an independent doorstep survey) followed between 12 May and 29 June 2021 and was used to adjust the census counts for under-enumeration.Disclosure control methodsStatistical disclosure control (SDC) refers to a range of methods that aim to protect individuals, households, businesses, and their attributes from being identified in published information.NISRA has taken steps to ensure that the confidentiality of respondents is fully protected. All published results from the census have been subject to statistical processes to ensure that individuals cannot be identified. These processes may result in very marginal differences between tables for the same statistic. For Census 2021, NISRA is applying two strategies - targeted record swapping (TRS) and cell key perturbation (CKP), to ensure individuals are protected from identification while minimising the impact on the quality of results.Disclosure control methodologyFor more information, please refer to:Statistical disclosure control methodologyMethodologyThe census questionnaire including the questions asked and the administrative procedures involved in collecting the census data underwent substantial testing. Coding of the data was subject to quality checks. The quality of the results was improved by the use of edit and imputation procedures for missing or incorrect data, and the data were adjusted for over and under-enumeration.The outputs reflect the complete usually-resident population of Northern Ireland.Methodology overviewFurther information on the methodology used in Census 2021 is available in the:Census 2021 methodology overviewQuality issuesThe census results underwent an extensive quality assurance process, which included checks against administrative data sources and information on particular groups such as students and HM Forces personnel.Edit procedures were applied to obviously incorrect responses (such as someone aged 180) and were designed to correct the mistake by making the least possible change to the data.Imputation procedures were applied to missing data on a returned questionnaire, and drew on responses to the question from people with similar characteristics.Quality assurance reportFurther information on the quality assurance processes used in Census 2021 is available in the:Census 2021 quality assurance reportStatement about data qualityFor more information on data quality, including response rate and item response rate, please refer to the:Census 2021 statement about data qualityGeographic referencingIrish National GridNational Statistics publicationCensus statistics are produced by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency free from political influence and have been assessed as National Statistics by the Office for Statistics Regulation.Office for Statistics RegulationMore information is available on the following web site:Office for Statistics RegulationProducing census statisticsCensus 2021 statistics meet the highest standards of trust, quality and value and are produced using standards set out in the statutory Code of Practice for Statistics.Code of Practice for StatisticsMore information is available in the:Code of Practice for StatisticsDate of publicationJune 2023Further informationCensus 2021 results webpage
