    Description

Historical Employment Statistics 1990 - current. The Current Employment Statistics (CES) more information program provides the most current estimates of nonfarm employment, hours, and earnings data by industry (place of work) for the nation as a whole, all states, and most major metropolitan areas. The CES survey is a federal-state cooperative endeavor in which states develop state and sub-state data using concepts, definitions, and technical procedures prescribed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Estimates produced by the CES program include both full- and part-time jobs. Excluded are self-employment, as well as agricultural and domestic positions. In Connecticut, more than 4,000 employers are surveyed each month to determine the number of the jobs in the State. For more information please visit us at http://www1.ctdol.state.ct.us/lmi/ces/default.asp.

    Description

This publication summarises the concentrations of major air pollutants as measured by the Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN). This release covers annual average concentrations in the UK of:

    • nitrogen dioxide (NO2)
    • particulates (PM2.5)
    • particulates (PM10)
    • ozone (O3)

The release also covers the number of days when air pollution was ‘Moderate’ or higher for any one of five pollutants listed below:

    • nitrogen dioxide (NO2)
    • particulates (PM2.5)
    • particulates (PM10)
    • ozone (O3)
    • sulphur dioxide (SO2)

These statistics are used to monitor progress against the UK’s reduction targets for concentrations of air pollutants. Improvements in air quality help reduce harm to human health and the environment.

Air quality in the UK is strongly linked to anthropogenic emissions of pollutants. For more information on UK emissions data and other information please refer to the air quality and emissions statistics GOV.UK page.

The statistics in this publication are based on data from the Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN) of air quality monitors. The https://uk-air.defra.gov.uk/" class="govuk-link">UK-AIR website contains the latest air quality monitoring data for the UK and detailed information about the different monintoring networks that measure air quality. The website also hosts the latest data produced using Pollution Climate Mapping (PCM) which is a suite of models that uses both monitoring and emissions data to model concentrations of air pollutants across the whole of the UK. The UK-AIR website also provides air pollution episode updates and information on Local Authority Air Quality Management Areas as well as a number of useful reports.

The monitoring data is continuously reviewed and subject to change when issues are highlighted. This means that the time series for certain statistics may vary slightly from year to year. You can access editions of this publication via The National Archives or the links below.

The datasets associated with this publication can be found here ENV02 - Air quality statistics.

    Description

    Introduction

California Health and Human Services (CalHHS) single and multi-program participation counts with demographics by year and geography, both the Annual (cumulative) and July (point in time) files. The data dictionary for each file is loaded as a resource within the CSV preview page.

    Background

The CalHHS Program Data and Dashboard contain participation data related to seven California Health & Human Services agency programs: CalWORKs, CalFresh, In-Home Supportive Services, Foster Care, Medi-Cal (California Medicaid), Women, Infants, & Children, and Developmental Services. Users are able to view these data at the county level or by legislative district level (U.S. Congress, State Assembly, State Senate). Statistics on persons served, persons per case, average grant amount, and basic demographics are presented in both tabular spreadsheets and customizable visualizations by program. In addition to presenting statistics for each program separately, the dashboard also provides data on the number of individuals participating in more than one program at the same time in a given district or county.

    Methodology

The Children's Data Network has prepared a methodology document for the process involved in creating this data. If you would like to review the methodology used, please click the link below to visit the CalHHS Records Reconciliation Methodology. https://data.chhs.ca.gov/pages/calhhs-program-counts-methodology

    Description

This monthly publication includes the number of chicks placed and eggs set by United Kingdom hatcheries. The number of birds placed each month shown below give an indication of future poultry meat and egg production. The number of eggs set each month indicates how many birds will be available for placing in future months.

It also includes statistics on the number of poultry slaughtered, average live weights of poultry and poultry meat production in the United Kingdom.

The editions of the slaughterings, weight and production datasets are now merged into one document for greater transparency.

    User Engagement

Data from the poultry slaughter and hatchery statistics are an invaluable evidence base for policy makers, academics and researchers. The data is also heavily relied upon by representatives of the poultry industry. The poultry slaughter and hatchery statistics is also used by the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) as layer chick placings indicate the future laying flock size (and hence egg production). The British Poultry Council also makes heavy use of the data as the Commercial broiler chick sets and placings give evidence on the current state of the industry and predict the available supplies of meat for the coming year. This, in turn, can affect poultry meat prices and trade decisions on levels of imports and exports to maintain supply. The breeder chick placings are also a key measure of future flock sizes and intentions of the sector. The Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board AHDB- Cereals and Oilseeds, rely on the chick placings data as a good indicator of feed demand and hence grain usage by the sector.

As part of our ongoing commitment to compliance with the https://code.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/" class="govuk-link">Code of Practice for Official Statistics we wish to strengthen our engagement with users of poultry slaughter and hatchery statistics data and better understand the use made of them and the types of decisions that they inform. Description

Historically, the year of publication was included in the report title in line with past naming conventions. From 2025 onwards, report titles will instead reference the data year they cover, rather than the year they are published.

Following on from the announcement made on 12 December 2024, to ensure consistency, the titles of previous publications have been updated to reflect this new approach.

Due to this, as of April 2025, the “Transport and environment statistics: 2021” report has been renamed to “Transport and environment statistics: 2021 (2019 data)”.

Statistics on a range of transport and environment topics including greenhouse gases and pollutants emitted by transport. Includes experimental statistics comparing the environmental impact of various journeys in the UK by different modes of transport and electric vehicle charging infrastructure by local authority.

An https://maps.dft.gov.uk/journey-emission-comparisons-interactive-dashboard/index.html" class="govuk-link">interactive version of data on comparing journey emissions is available. Further details, including data and methodology is available.

    Description

This dataset contains model-based ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA) level estimates. PLACES covers the entire United States—50 states and the District of Columbia—at county, place, census tract, and ZIP Code Tabulation Area levels. It provides information uniformly on this large scale for local areas at four geographic levels. Estimates were provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Population Health, Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch. PLACES was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in conjunction with the CDC Foundation. The dataset includes estimates for 40 measures: 12 for health outcomes, 7 for preventive services use, 4 for chronic disease-related health risk behaviors, 7 for disabilities, 3 for health status, and 7 for health-related scocial needs. These estimates can be used to identify emerging health problems and to help develop and carry out effective, targeted public health prevention activities. Because the small area model cannot detect effects due to local interventions, users are cautioned against using these estimates for program or policy evaluations. Data sources used to generate these model-based estimates are Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) 2022 or 2021 data, Census Bureau 2020 population data, and American Community Survey 2018–2022 estimates. The 2024 release uses 2022 BRFSS data for 36 measures and 2021 BRFSS data for 4 measures (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cholesterol screening, and taking medicine for high blood pressure control among those with high blood pressure) that the survey collects data on every other year. More information about the methodology can be found at www.cdc.gov/places.
